Reviews Lyon's Pub

This place is a gem! The atmosphere of an old Irish pub. The raspberry lemonade is a must try! How refreshing to find clean eating options on the happy hour menu! Boneless, skinless chicken bites and a very large, tasty vegetable platter alone will bring us back! The prices are way more reasonable than we expected for downtown Minneapolis and the waitress was top notch.

A large group of us are in town for a conference. We found seating on a busy night to accommodate all of us, had an amazing server, food was freaking delicious, beer options superb, and the playlist had us all singing along while we dined in a top notch atmosphere. If you're in the neighborhood, or from out of town like we are, this place is an absolute necessity. Thanks for the fun evening!

Awesome atmosphere and food! I stopped in a couple times over the summer while here for a conference. To be honest, I went in because of the Husker flag on the exterior! GBR! This weekend we were in town for the MN vs. NE game. We stopped on Friday night for a great night-before party. Lots of Husker fans, great food (and amazing vegan/vegetarian selection, especially for a pub), awesome atmosphere, and super friendly service! We loved it. They were super busy and we got drinks and food very quickly! I would definitely recommend Lyon’s next time your looking for a friendly, neighborhood feel in Minneapolis.

This place is great. I didn't have the food which looked amazing. I was recovering from a meat coma from Fogo de Chao. The staff were very knowledgeable with respect to the local craft beers. A lot of regulars come and they're all on a first name basis with the staff which is a kind of atmosphere I appreciate. When I return to Minneapolis I'll be sitting at one of the tables for sure.

Stopped here just before a Twins game. Beer selection was good, nachos were amazing, and the deep fried dill pickle spears were the best I have ever had! Great place to check out if you are ever in Minneapolis!

The Philly sandwich was excellent!! I enjoyed that sandwich more than the $38 steak I had the night before at another restaurant! The beef is ultra tender and the sandwich is big enough to feed two!!

The bar was packed, it was the day before the Super Bowl. The staff was friendly and calm under all the demands. It is always a great time at Lyons!

I had such a great time here! It was fun and so much excitement, because it was Super Bowl weekend. The place was packed, the service was great, and the fish and chips were delicious! Thanks for sharing your Minneapolis hospitality.

This place became our local go to for food and drink while visiting downtown Minneapolis for a medical procedure. The food was always good and there were so many choices from salads snd soups to sandwiches and meals. We enjoyed the free popcorn and they have an ice cream sundae that is really good! The staff remembered us and always asked how the healing was going, really seemed to care. It was a welcoming place for us as travelers.

This quaint little pub was great. I got a Caesar Salad with grilled chicken and it was fantastic. I love the fact they did not saturate the salad with Caesar dressing. It was perfectly applied and was delicious. Grilled chicken was very good as well. I also got a bowl of Chili which was creatively original with cheese and tortillas chips. The portions provided were super generous. Lastly the atmosphere was warm and friendly. The staff were super knowledgeable and responsive .

Food is good. The fried pickles are quite flavorful! Service is hit or miss. Good place to watch the Nebraska Huskers.

We stopped in here for an impromptu meal. The food was great and the service was fantastic. Husband had the fish and chips which were given two thumbs up. He also had a beer- War Pigs-Foggy Geezer also two thumbs up. I had a great dinner salad while I was deciding what I wanted. Ultimately I decided I wanted an appetizer for my meal with a side which is weird but the time of our meal was weird ok? I had a chicken quesadilla and a side of fruit. Two thumbs up on both. The fruit was fresh and the quesadilla tasted good. Ultimately it was the ambience, the people, the food and the service that makes this place great. We wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Decent pub, styled after an English pub, which they got passably correct. Unfortunately, they didn't have a single English style beer-- closest they had was Irish Guinness. There WAS a decent beer linup for the USA, not all IPAs, so you'll find something. But if you're going to market yourself as an English Pub, and have 20 beers, you could at least have 1 single English beer on tap or bottle. Food was meh. I visited pub for dinner, then next day for lunch. Their chicken wings are billed as Chesapeake wings, which are just buffalo with Old Bay sprinkled on top... they forgot the old bay on mine, had to ask to get a cup of it separate. However, they DID cook them up extra crispy as asked, and they were excellent that way. Worth having, and the spice on side was actually better as I could put just right amount on. Next day for lunch, I asked about the corned beef on reuben, and was told it wasn't thin sliced, more a slab, so I passed and ordered their french dip. Unfortunately, it also was just 2 slabs of thick, chewey, hard to tear apart beef. Supposed to be thin sliced beef, their chef should try one at literally any other place in the world... it was very hard to tear apart with teeth and eat, not good. Overall good service and atmosphere, food was just not done to standard recipe/method.

A must go place with great atmosphere and amazing staff. The drinks and food menu has range of flavors with descent vegetarian options. The service is quick and staff is courteous. We enjoyed all both drinks, soup and burger. Watermelon shooters were refreshing and full of surprise. Would definitely visit again!

Great traditional Irish pub with a stout bloody Mary and beer chaser. Friendly staff, grab some popcorn as a snack whole you make and order off the menu. Great for lunch or watching the game, highly recommend the spinach artichoke dip

Honestly really really good food! Like 9/10 good! The food came out fast and it came out HOT! The drinks were made well and the server was really nice and quick about getting everything to us. It was really surprising that we didn’t have to sit around and wait for 20-30 minutes to get our food. The place was pretty busy and it seems like a respectful place to sit down and eat.

Stopped by for a quick dinner. Food was fresh and delicious. Service was so friendly and fast. It started raining (we were outside) and they helped get us ready to leave quickly so we didn’t get rained on. Ordered mozzarella sticks and a Greek chicken wrap. Food was amazing!

Friendly staff and a nice menu. The mozza sticks (made in house) are really good, they put frozen store bought to shame! Fish was good but their fries were pretty overdone and rather poor. Service was great though and that helps a lot.

We love eating here when downtown! I love that is is Nebraska Cornhuskers friendly, too. The food is always good, the atmosphere is great, they have a stocked bar and the service is usually good. We did have an issue with an order - something we asked to be left off was not - but the waitress worked to make it right! (Even though the chef kept arguing it was right, it was not) We will be back for sure!

First time visiting - our server, Brandon, was fantastic… friendly, helpful, and personable. I had a Ruben with coleslaw and my hubs had a Pulled Pork sammie with fries. The bbq sauce with the pulled pork was dynamite - and made in house (we asked). The Ruben was 10 out of 10 and I’ve had a LOT of Rubens. 😂😂 Next time we’re in Minne; I’m booking a hotel near here - just so we can return more than once!!!

This place is a go-to place for me for over a decade even though the crowds can be hit and miss. Sometimes there is no one there and sometimes it’s a full house. Pre-Covid they had a DJ and a small dance floor that I hope they bring back. I enjoy their watermelon shots. They have free popcorn. I love their pub pretzels; I could eat a million of them. I had their specialty Chesapeake wings for the first time (Buffalo, Bloody Mary Mix, with Old Bay seasoning). They were to die for. Even my friend from Buffalo agreed (although he said they could be crispier). Not too spicy (I am a wuss to spice). I thought they had a crispy texture and very juicy meat. I can’t wait to order them again.

Super friendly staff - restaurant was super clean. It was SUPER quiet there at 1pm Saturday but the food was terrific - a simple turkey club sandwich and a kids burger - done right! Will definitely be back sometime soon!

Great food and the atmosphere was awesome. The lady sitting next to me and my friend paid for our meals, which were a steak sandwich and a veggie burger.
