Fabulous experience. We loved every minute of our stay. The wait staff in both the bar downstairs and roof top were so nice and drinks were fast. Tullibee's for dinner with 11 at the table was wonderful. I highly recommend. My friends enjoyed the sauna and pool in the morning.

To start with the obvious, the location is perfect, and the overall look of the hotel, common areas, and rooms is just beautiful. I love the old building with a contemporary feel and the decor is on point (love the furniture, wall paper(s), and fun little accent pieces everywhere like the axe in our bathroom or painted antler on the shelf). Next are the less obvious, but it's the little things that count, right?! Well as silly as it sounds, the Hewing Hotel has the best tap water ever. Seriously, I drink bottled water all the time because I'm picky about any "taste" to my water. This was perfect - no iron, salty, or softened water flavor and SO cold that the glass fogged up instantly. I NEVER drink tap water from a hotel except for here. Also, the bath towels are HUGE which is so different than every other hotel I've experienced where I can't even get it to wrap around me completely. In fact I want those for my home because of the size and softness (split second temptation to stick the remaining folded towel in my bag but resisted...care to share the brand so I can buy my own?? :) ) Lastly, I don't stay at "fancy" places, and to me this is pretty fancy (first time ever using valet parking). It's outside of my normal price range, but then again I'm usually traveling with my 6 kids so we tend to stay at places that end with the word "Inn". Hewing has no free continental breakfast or water slide, and that's fine by me. In fact I saw no children at all which was also fine by me. Anyway, regarding the fancy look and atmosphere that I'm less accustomed to, at NO time did I feel out of place and every single employee was more than personable, friendly, and helpful. I will absolutely recommend this Hotel to others for travel or events. And if you're like me and usually try to keep things "cheap", consider this place worth the extra bucks for a splurge (especially when traveling without kids). I sure felt fancy and comfortable at the same time. I will be back and look forward to trying out the rooftop access next time!

Gorgeous Lobby, amazing quaint rooms, clean, quiet, modern, and cozy. Most amazingly, Hewing is the most dog friendly place I've ever been and made my Chloe puppy feel so welcomed and loved! Would recommend this Hotel to anyone, especially someone with a dog. Can't wait to stay there again.

We had our wedding in the north loop and stayed at the Hewing on our wedding night. It was above and beyond what we expected. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. It was the perfect place to spend our wedding weekend at, particularly as locals. We hope to spend a few anniversaries there as well! Thanks, Hewing!!

Tullibee has impeccable food, serving, and atmosphere. I enjoyed lunch with my coworkers and we all really enjoyed our visit. The 5 star service starts as soon as you enter and are greeted by the host. The server was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. The food is some of the best I have tasted in the Twin Cities. The ingredients are unique, fresh, and high quality. The dishes are made perfectly. They have a great lunch menu at reasonable prices and with the fast service, this is a great spot for a lunch break from work. I highly recommend Tullibee!

Came here for date night with my wife and we thoroughly enjoyed it! They were kind enough to seat us even though we arrived very close to the closing time. After quickly ordering from the menu, all the food came out very quickly and was fresh and delicious šŸ˜‹. They have plenty of vegetarian options which is important to us when we dine out. The cherry on top for our evening was 2 extra scoops of ice cream on the house! Can't wait to come back and have dinner here again. The one downside, although it wasn't too bad for us, would be the proximity to the rest of the bar area where it can get fairly noisy as the night goes on.

I had an incredible meal at Tullibee. The potato rosti texture and taste were incredible, the asparagus were very tender. The lamb roast was amazing, the wild rice and pistachio combination are something Iā€™m still thinking about! Also, the honey cake was so good, what a great way to end the night! The only reason for stars off on service/atmosphere was lack of masking.

Had a wonderful experience. Wait staff was great. Our party of 6 shared and enjoyed no less than ten of the menu offerings - each one more delicious than the last. My favorites were the lamb and wild rice and the salmon. Cocktails were amazing as well. Atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. Loved everything about Tullibees in the Hewitt Hotel!

My sisters and I were just looking for a cool place to take some pictures at and use the restroom. We stumbled upon this place and got ourselves some Shirley Temples. The vibes of this place felt very modern, itā€™s also a restaurant but we didnā€™t like the food options. Street parking is available throughout the whole street as well.

If I didn't know any better I would say their food was Michelin quality. The server was efficient and attentive. It was a great place to celebrate my twin brother and my birthday. There was a card on the table when we got there and they gave a complimentary champagne toast and dessert. I will be going back!

Went for Thanksgiving and so glad we did! The service and the food were excellent! They were running a three course meal special for $45 and boy did they give you a lot! The star of the show for me was the butternut squash soup. The flavor couldnā€™t be matched with anything I had before. The rolls were impressive as well since they were made from wild rice. The turkey, stuffing, root vegetables and potatoes were all delicious as well. My only recommendation would to be not to mess with the cranberry sauce since it did not work or compliment the other foods on the table. Somethings you just canā€™t recreate. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend to those who are around for the holidays!!

Weekends are made for brunch and so we found ourselves here at Tullibee. Firstly, let me start off by saying how lovely and friendly our server was. We enjoyed her kind and bright spirit. Now... to the food. Although I found the hash a little salty for my taste, my bf loved it. The chicken sandwich was delicious. We also ordered bacon-wrapped frog legs. I personally don't care for them because as a kid growing up in a refugee camp, I've eaten my fair share. My bf also loved the frog legs. Bacon does make everything better.

My wife and I stayed at The Hewing Hotel. We came to Tullibee for drinks one evening: I got a Hewing Old Fashioned and she got the Wise & Wily, they were both delicious. The next morning, we came down for breakfast. The portions were generous. The food was delicious but the breakfast sandwich was VERY messy. All in all, it's a great place.

Great drinks and atmosphere. We went during lunch and ordered the mushroom toast and cauliflower. Both had good flavor but a little too oily for our liking. The rooftop bar has great views and drinks. Definitely recommend stoping by for a drink and ask to go up to the rooftop.

Note: this review is from March 2017. Will update again soon. Tullibee is your new-money friend with incredible taste; he just needs to mature a bit. In time, I have no doubt that this will be one of the top 5 restaurants in Minneapolis. Let's be clear here - the food at the North Loop's newest fine dining spot is AMAZING. Absolutely delicious. Whether you're popping in for a quick solo lunch (do the burger. No, seriously - do the burger!), or going at night with a group (make sure to get a reservation!), you will love the food. One night, I went with three snobby foodies (I promise, I'm not one myself...) and even they were knocked off their feet. I had a dish with duck and I was in heaven. Make sure to go with a group and get a selection of small plates--including the cheese plate. Take your time here and really enjoy the menu and the drinks. Their craft cocktails are also really fun and unique. The ambiance is northern Minnesota. It feels so authentically "cabin life" that you forget how expensive and luxury the place really is. Plus, with its pool table, comfortable seating, perfect lighting, and gorgeous view of downtown Minneapolis, you'll feel transported to a whole new world of relaxation. The one thing this place needs work on is its service. Too often the bartenders or wait staff forget to enter a ticket. I've gone probably 15 times since it opened and it's happened to me at least four times. That's pretty ridiculous. But, they are mostly pleasant people. With the exception of one employee, I've never gotten even a hint of attitude.

Great drinks and great food. Very modern design and food flavor is on point and very balanced. Price is fair and portions are large enough. The sprouts and cauliflower is a fantastic combination between sweet, salty, and sour, without either being over powering. Very subtle. The chef salad is huge and very filling and the duck burger is moist and fantastic and it comes with a side of fries or soup of the day (avocado gazpascho). Drink: nolo sour. The drink is fantastic. Love the egg white addition to every sour. Not overly sweet but I do enjoy my whiskey sours on the sweet side. This is very balanced.

Wow. The food was outdone only by the staff and their service. We went for our 9th wedding anniversary and opted for the Chefā€™s Experience. We even opted to sit at the bar to watch the food prep. We totally left it up to the chef and staff - and ate 8 amazing dishes. Oysters, endive & apple salad, heirloom tomato toast, ravioli & langoustine, roast lamb, sockeye salmon, ribeye cap steak, and honey ice cream dessert. Please go here immediately and try one or more of these dishes.

Iā€™ve frequented Tullibee since it opened, and I recently enjoyed brunch there - instead of just small plates and cocktails at their bar (downstairs and the rooftop, both A+). we ordered their brisket hash, cured salmon toast, and their almond pancakes with strawberries and freshly whipped cream. Firstly, the hash had the best textural mix, crunchy and savory and the exact necessary portion served in a lovely bowl - with an absolutely perfect egg. The sriracha ketchup was a great pairing with the hash, but I am one for ketchup on eggs so no complaints there. The salmon toast was also delicately balanced and large enough for two of you are also ordering other items. My favorite plate was the almond pancakes; I donā€™t know what they do to them but they are fantastic! It might be the whipped cream that puts them over the edge but they certainly arenā€™t dense and they melt in your mouth. Highly recommend! Bonus: the space is as always, impeccably stylish (and not overly crowded during the day) so if you have out of town guests, itā€™s a beautiful space and still someplace you can hear each other.

This restaurant gave us an experience, something beyond a meal. Each plate was an experience and fun. The highlight of our night was an unexpected dessert afterthought that was SO beautifully done. I still think about the rhubarb sorbet every day!
