We had Anthony as a server and let me tell you: he was the best server we have ever had. We have been around the world and couldn't ask for a more attentive, knowledgeable person to guide us through our first experience. The food was excellent, the service was even better and the owner even took the time to show us the brewery. I (and my husband) highly recommend this place.

Our server Anthony was wonderful and guided us through our first experience at moto-i! He was very attentive and went above and beyond just taking our order—he even brought us some samples of sake which were great:) I ordered the drunken noodles with mock duck, and loved it! My friend ordered the classic ramen which was also wonderful. We can’t wait to come back and try their brunch!

Delicious, innovative food in a unique yet still casual setting. The service was efficient and friendly. The sake Bloody Mary and Benny Buns are among Minneapolis' best brunch picks ... and that's saying a lot! We also loved the Japanese baseball on TV.

Absolutely wonderful. It was my first true ramen experience and they killed it. And the house brewed sake was amazing, we bought a bottle to take home! Service and food were top notch.

Wonderful! Excellent food, sake and service. We sat at the bar and the bar tender was really helpful. We had steamed tuna buns, classic ramen, and some hot rice dish. Love it.

Best service I've received in all of my restaurant experiences. Jess was our server and she was amazing! The other workers did a great job filling our waters while Jess was waiting other tables. The service + the delicious ramen made the experience phenomenal! It was our first time and you guys did great.

So I was taken to Moto-I by my cousin and her husband for sake at happy hour. I have to say that the food was very delicious. The pork belly bites were made to perfection and the okonomiyaki was just awesome. The waitress came out with our sake and gave us a description of what each pitcher was and why it’s special. After a brief toast to family we had a moment of silence to enjoy such great tasting sake. I can only tell you that we’ve picked number 4 and the last sake on the list. I can’t tell you their names because I was too caught up with the sake and food that I forgot. Going to moto-I on happy hour is highly recommended. I’ve taken a good look at the prices outside of happy hour and all I can do is show my thanks for happy hour. I would love to visit Minnesota more just so I can visit moto-I.

The sake is sublime. Fresh, un-pasteurized, and delicious. Great tap list and wonderful food - try the JFC.

Great bar tender, great atmosphere, and even better food. Only down side are the hipsters who sit at the bar and say the f word for 20 minutes straight.

This place is really cool, with a trendy laid back vibe. It’s unique for it sake (didn’t partake but it’s a speciality here) My recommendations must haves: Brussel sprouts, the crispy chicken bun (might want two they are so good), the JFC chicken is so crispy and delicious, and the maitake mushroom ramen is fantastic. Shout out to the manager who you can tell puts love into this place, we didn’t have reservations but she went out of her way to give us some options on a Friday night when it was packed.

A rare find! I could not partake on this day but this place actually brews its own sake. How very distinguished! Atmosphere has unique lighting and is fairly dark but very nice. Service started off slow. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived and we waited some time to be able to place our order. I think the waitress was busy doing prep work but once they finished that they were quite attentive outside of one of the brewers brining out our food. Good team work, our food was piping hot when we got it. Tried a couple appetizers, pork belly and crispy chicken bun. Both good. Everything was plated absolutely beautifully as you can see in the pictures. I’ve hit several Japanese Romen eateries. This one is good and the most attractive to the eyes but there are a couple of places in Sioux Falls that have better Ramen in my opinion, although they are much more generous with their protein in this dish than any other Romen I’ve found. Again, good dish, nothing wrong with it, still recommend! I also tried the Thai Chicked fried Rice. That was really really good! All in all, a good find. On the expensive side but all these Japanese places same to all be the same so it’s on par as far as price point by comparison to other like restaurants I’ve visited. I do look forward to trying sake on my next visit.

Came in for happy hour on Thursday. I tried a number of items from the regular menu and one from the happy hour. The karaage impressed me the most with crisp chicken thighs. I was really pleased with the house brewed sakes. I tried three different ones - the omachi was my favourite. I took a bottle of it home with me.

We had an amazing meal at moto-i. Incredible vegan options! Everything on the menu is clearly marked for what can be veganized, which i truly appreciate. The ambience is spectacular - inly thing is it made it harder to get great food photos! We have 1 vegan, 2 vegetarians, and 2 meat eaters in our party. We got away for about $40 per person, but would have been $30 except I ordered so many extra things just because I had to try. For appetizers, I ordered the vegan Idaho fries, vegan Brussels sprouts, and the vegan beet salad. For the meat eaters, we got the shishito pepper rangoons, and I am told they were epic. All were delicious. We all tried a steamed bun, and they were so good - the texture of the bun is perfection. For vegans, they have a mock duck bun and an agedashi tofu bun. I preferred the mock duck because the sauce was crazy good (if you like spicy). For my entree, I had the vegan drunken noodles. Both vegetarians ordered the mushroom ramen, and both meat eaters got the classic ramen. I would like to go again and try more! I'd also like to try eating on the rooftop patio!

I came here on 2 separate occasions and each time, service was great! 💖 The food is amazing and look at the Benny buns! So amazing. Ramen was great but I prefer a good mix of vegetables and meat in my ramen. If you like a lot of meat, this is the right place for you. This is the best strawberry lemonade I have ever had. Not just power lemonade. Major con: please put some lights on the stairs going downstairs to the bathroom. Visibility is a big problem. It was too dim going down the stairs.

Such a cool spot! The service was phenomenal, and our server was attentive and offered tons of good suggestions. 100% would go back to take part in the fantasy sumo league.

I don't know where to start so I'll start with the rooftop patio, it is spectacular! We chose this place for a birthday celebration and I can't think of a more fitting place to celebrate someone. Parking is a little bit of struggle but worth it for this place. Service is a little slow, but for good reason and I didn't really mind it as it allowed me to spend more time with my group. Now let's talk about the food - I will go to moto-i again especially for the Brussels sprouts (wasabi honey fried sprouts, spicy peanuts, sub vegan mayo). Add in the tofu lettuce wraps and a flight of sake to finish the experience. Overall, it was a perfect experience and I can't wait to go back. There is a great inside seating area that I will try in the future, but while we're in summer mode and have beautiful weather this is the patio and the place to be in the evenings.

The best ramen I’ve tried in MN. We just stumbled upon this place, and I’m so happy we did. The ramen was full of flavor and the noodles were a perfect texture. The bowl had a lot of ingredients as well and it was a great sized portion. It’s slightly more expensive than a basic ramen place but you’re definitely paying for quality.

One of the best spots for ramen in Minneapolis! If you are looking for ramen with chicken, we thought the ramen with chicken thigh was even better at moto-i than at Zen Box Izakaya. And a great selection of local beers, the Modist Supra Deluxe pairs well with ramen.

Good food and cozy atmosphere. Didn’t love the 12% imposed service charge but these may be the times.

My wife & I went to Moto-i this past Thursday (3/16) for dinner. It was my birthday and I wanted to have ramen so we decided to give it a shot! We really liked the evening vibe of the place! It was surprisingly calm for how busy it was, which was great. For appetizers we shared the rangoons & the pork belly bites. The rangoons were packed with flavor and the pork belly was crispy and melt in your mouth all in one. The sweet chili sauce on the pork belly was really good as well. For entrees, my wife ordered the classic ramen and I had the red coconut beef curry ramen. Both ramens had really tasty broth. The pork in her ramen was cooked wonderfully, as well as my beef tenderloin in mine. Be cautious as my ramen was on the spicier side! I also ordered the sake flight. I really enjoyed the sirimiri nigori, so I ordered another glass of it! Our waitress Isabella was awesome! Since it was our first time there, she explained the background of the restaurant and walked us through all of the options. She was kind & attentive throughout our dining experience! Overall, we both had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back again to try some more of the food & drink!

First time having real ramen and was enlightened! Server was extremely helpful and friendly. I got the mushroom ramen because I tend to like mushroom but it was a little too mild and earthy for my taste so my server helped me swap it for a different one I would like. I ended up with the Coconut Curry beef tenderloin and when I say it was AMAZING! The atmosphere was beautiful on the rooftop! It was super lowkey (a hole in the wall type of place) and chill! I would 100% go back! 😁

We ordered the benny buns and classic ramen, and both were delicious! I would definitely return and have those benny buns again and try more of their other menu items.
