My experience at Seven was incredible. The food was really amazing but what made the night was our server Matt G. He was knowledgable, helpful, funny, and considerate. I'm in the service industry and he was probably the best server I've ever seen. Can't wait to eat here again!!
Highly recommended! Awesome food and great service. I have been here on 3 occasions- different days and for different reasons. Always a positive experience. They even cooked my (picky) sister's steak PERFECTLY. The wait time really isn't bad considering the quality of food you are getting. Oh, and the desserts are amazing, too!
Great place for date night. We had dinner here before the game a couple of weeks ago and their banana foster is probably equivalent to what heaven is like. and their sushi is really scrumptious!
Sushi, Steak and More!. You can get sushi and steak at Seven. Plenty of other choices on the menu as well. We shared a coupe of sushi rolls the Firecracker and the Phoenix. Very good and reasonably priced. We had one non-sushi eater and he had Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. and that was also good. Nice evening that was finished with an after dinner cocktail on the roof. Great view a Mpls skyline and nice comfy couches.

Bar Meal On July 8th. Qualified like here as I have had good experiences here mostly eating more casual fare at the bar. Reason for the qualified is that it is very pricey for what you get compared to other places. Almoast double it seems at times for sushi of the same quality.
That being said it is a nice nice space and the opportunity to order off both the sushi and steak menu is a plus. Had a delightful spring greens salad with shaved fennel and their house vinegar based dressing instead of the balsamic one, as I am not a big fan on this one. Bulleit Rye Manahattan was a winner as well.
Got a couple of sashimi varieties, snapper and toro, both of them very good BUT the toro ($18) was so good I got another order. Interesting that they have only two HUGE canned Japanese beers packing a $10 price tag so those are share cans.
This amount of food and drink should not cost almost $100 with tip but alas it did. That is where the like gets it qualified.
Good to great yes? But more often than not cannot afford the price tag.

Beautiful Decor, Excellent Food, and amazing community involvement. My family recently held a celebration in honor my sister Katie. We had called Wendy to ask her about reserving the ultra lounge. From there on out she and the staff at SEVEN took care of everything. They were so cooperative and dedicated to providing us with phenomenal food, drinks, and service. The ultra lounge has beautiful LED lights (they let us choose the color) and televisions (where they let us choose a slideshow of pictures) for display. SEVEN also provided us with drinks, and the best meat carving station I have had. But most importantly, we did not have to worry about anything except for showing up. Wendy knows what she is doing and the staff is more than accommodating to fit your needs. The decor provided an elegant, sophisticated social hour.
As a returning guest I am excited for summer at the Skybar.

Good service, nice atmosphere, but slightly over priced. The food was good...definately try to make it in on Sunday or Monday for their all you can eat sushi bar. At the $30 price, that is a great deal!
Awesome!. One of the best places! Their sushi chef is actually Japanese which is so hard to find. The roll with strawberries on top just melts in your mouth, and the yellow sauce on top is amazing. This is place to go in Minneapolis!

LOVE the rooftop experience..... ...but could take or leave the food. The food was ok but priced much higher than it should have been. Can't beat the atmosphere, however. So if you're just looking for a good place to grab a cocktail this is good choice.
Good food, and people watching. We dined up on their rooftop when i was in town and it was quite the place. Early in the night we enjoyed sushi and drinks on their comfortable couches. The rolls were all fresh tasting and made to perfection. My favorite was the spicy tataki (sp?). As the night went on we were surprised to see the bruins owner walking through with the stanley cup! He was taking pictures with everyone and it was a really cool experience to get a good pic of the cup! About 10 minutes later Ricky Rubio of the timberwolves was hanging out by us. Rreally neat to see, we will return!
Love This Place!. Perfect place to go for a special occasion. Their sushi is fresh, and they definitely don't skimp. My boyfriend got the steak, which was tender and perfectly cooked to his liking. The waitstaff is very knowledgeable of the menu and very friendly. They also have a wide selection of drinks, which is always a plus.
Sophisticated Fun. A group of friends visited from LA and they wanted to go somewhere a bit more upscale and not so much of a bar scene. I took them to Seven and they loved it. They thought the drinks and food were amazing and their experience at Seven made them think differently of Minneapolis in a positive way.

Great sushi!. I went here knowing that the atmosphere was going to amazing. When it came to the sushi i wasn't sure what to expect, since there are many sushi places in town that I enjoy that specialize in sushi. I figured this place was more for the atmosphere, but when I tasted the sushi I was amazed. I think they beat anyone in town. The uni melted in my mouth, and the rolls we tried were all amazing.
The main reason we checked this place out though was their rooftop. I can see it from my new office downtown and figured the view was great. They didn't let me down. Overall, it was an excellent experience and the food was a pleasant surprise!
Amazing. The rooftop is the place to be in the summer in MN. Great bar staff, great views, and excellent food (they let you order off the steakhouse and sushi menus). Highly recommend.
Wow, great rooftop. This patio is unreal. The view of the city is amazing, and the service we experienced was excellent. The food seemed very fresh and the rolls we had were as fresh as we have in our home city in California. Pretty impressive Seven, keep it up.
Incredible service. I highly recommend Seven Sushi Ultralounge and Skybar. My friends and I spent several wonderful hours on the roof on June 17 2010. Thanks to our server Laura we had an incredible service and several hours of unforgettable experience in downtown.
Regular stop for me. This is a great place to go--sushi is delicious and creative. Patio is a great place to mix it up or hang and watch a game. Dress up for a night on the town, or chill out--can't wait to try the steaks downtown.
Great patio. I was here during the Twins opener week and they had the coolest patio bar around the stadium. It's up on their rooftop. They did a free drink for my ticket stub, and the rest of the drinks were reasonably priced considering how nice the place is. At first I wasn't sure if i would fit in with my twins gear but there was a ton of fans there and it was really relaxed.

Remarkable Experience!. Thank-you for an outstanding experience you provided to my husband and I on Saturday, March 27th. I can not stop talking about it to everyone I encounter. From the Valet attendants, to the Hostess, to our server, and the General Manager (WOW!!)
The experience was spectacular! The valet service was very efficient and provided wonderful service. They were right at my door to let me out and welcome us to the restaurant. As we entered, we were greeted with a welcoming smile. We were seated at a romantic table. Our server was Noah. He provided us with a glass of champagne that was exactly the kind I loved when I mentioned I like it a bit sweeter. We ordered the Firecracker roll as an appetizer. We have never tasted sushi so good before! My husband asked him to put together a Sushi platter for dinner, and he brought out an amazing selection of choices. I had the Sea Bass, it was to die for! I am raving fan and will be recommending this to many people because of the "experience"!
Good spot for drinks. After checking out the steak house we went upstairs to the sushi level and checked it out. It was a really cool setting up there with the lighting just right along with a couple of good looking bartenders. Looks like the roof would be a great place to hang in the summer I'll be back if I'm in town!

Yummy. We had an after conference function here- it was top notch. Just when you think you can't eat another piece of tasty sushi, they bring out fantastic steak dinners.

KMB. Seven Sushi Ultralounge and Skybar was a wonderful dining experience. I was greeted by a friendly staff when I arrived and the serving staff was friendly and very attentive. The dish we ordered was the Firecracker, it was absolutely delicious and was a very generous amount of sushi. I will absolutely go back and recommend it to anyone. It is perfect for after attending the theater just for a light bite or a great place to take a date!

Great rooftop. Cool place with good food (i usually order steak from downstairs you can get it when you are on the rooftop) but my friends all say the sushi is good. The roof is unreal though, and a great place to hit up on a warm night out. Great view of the city while sitting on comfy couches, what else could you want!

Cool Place. I came into Seven on a Saturday night and it was just packed and no wonder the rooftop was the best I have seen in Minneapolis. The group I was with decided to get bottle service and we got to sit under one of the cabannas where we were served by a sexy cocktailer and really enjoyed ourselves. Good service and atmosphere- I have been going almost every weekend!
Simply Awesome!. I cannot say enough about Seven Sushi Ultralounge and Seven Sky Bar (the rooftop) it has been such a great place to be this summer! I have been spending many night on the rooftop bar and it is an absolutly beautiful place! This is just what Minnesota needed! The sushi is wonderful and there is a large menu to choose from. The weekends get especially busy... Seven is the place to be! Good looking people, great atmosphere and exceptional service, what more can you ask for?

The good: great location! We had a spot on the rooftop and the weather was awesome! Food by itself getting 4.5 stars from me! Variety and quality of sushi was good and the lamb chops was to die for!
The not so good: service... the hostess was nice and let us sit but after that it was a big ignore and luck if service. We needed to ask a different staff member to call our waitress all the time.
I would recommend this place but please take under consideration that you might want to nudge them from time to time.

We tried the new menu for Labor Day Weekend and absolutely enjoyed every bit of it! Chef Nestor really did a fantastic job! The service was impeccable as always! Shane, Yoom, Jenny and Chef Nestor always take such great care of us. We'll definitely be back.
The sushi taco was filled with a lot of rice and not as much meat filling. The outside is crunchy when you take a bite and the top is drizzled with creamy and rich sauce. I ordered pan seared salmon and it was placed on a wooden brick with potatoes and sautéed veggies on the bottom. The salmon was still flaky just as I loved it. The mashed potatoes was creamy and smooth. This was my second time coming here and I was disappointed herb crusted rack of lamb. The rack of lamb was small and there was 3-4 racks. As I was eating it, the lamb still have a smell in it so I guessed it wasn’t cleaned properly. The meat was very chewy. I don’t know if it’s COVID or they change cooks but when I had it the first time I visited, I fell in love with this dish. I told myself I had to go back second time, but the second time was not to my liking.
We had a lovely time. Arrived early, pre concert. Sat us right away. We sat second floor, Nam Nam, as it was too chilly for their amazing roof top bar. Drinks were spot in. Our server, Brasil, was well informed, engaged, helpful and an absolute delight. We had a variety of items. The Fire E sushi was okay, complicated sauce on platter, and the tempura shrimp heated up the rice, so they fell apart, but flavors were fine. The popular crab rice had plenty of delicious crab, but the rice was a tad greasy for me. The brussel sprouts are on the sweet side, but a total winner. Spring rolls veggie and fresh. Tempura shrimp was a tad greasy. Do not pass on dessert, as their unique take on chocolate mousse is pure heaven!! Overall an adventurous night of food. Atmosphere is metro clubbing, comfortable couches and two lovely bars. Must get packed later in the night. Made for singles who mingle. Expensive, but, based on overall experience, worth it.
This place is amazing. First floor is the steak house and the sushi restaurant is on the second floor. Sitting by the fireplace at the steak house was cozy. The menu has been rebooted and let me tell you it is amazing. The oysters are to die for. Everything we had was amazing and top notch. If you haven't checked this place out in awhile I highly recommend it. Best dinner I've ever had.
Great restaurant and the only reason that I didn't give it five stars is that they had none of the beers advertised on the menu. The chilled seafood tower for starters was really nice and the steaks for main course are fantastic. Great waitrons and a great vibe.

We went for our anniversary dinner and left happy. The rooftop is beautiful, and the food was amazing. They have traditional Japanese nigiri, and a more American selection of sushi rolls covered in mayonaise and gold. Yes, gold. I was in the mood for over-the-top, so I got a few rolls and was not disappointed. My wife had the crab cake and the wedge, which were also done beautifully.
Such fresh fatty sushi! Best salmon and tuna sashimi I've had in Minneapolis yet. Gracious and welcoming staff full of smiles make this place even better. We had the pinapple braised in brandy for dessert and we loved every bite of it!
Smart menu, great cocktails and an elegant space; this place rocks! We had raw oysters and sashimi to start, shared a big perfectly done steak, and great sides (like crab fried rice). From start to finish, this restaurant DID NOT disappoint. We’re visiting from NYC, we’re picky and this place was recommended to us. Great food, friendly service, a fireplace and a good wine list! We may have to come back this summer to enjoy the roof top bar.
The have changed their menu and some of the new items are really good, especially the Brussels sprouts and the champagne & lobster soup.
Wine offering is solid and the staff always very friendly.
The only irritating thing is that guy in the bathroom waiting to be tipped for opening the faucet and handing you a paper towel. C’mon, that is so tacky! I always tip to the staff well, so the last thing I want to do is to look for a couple of bills-who carries cash these days anyway?- after I have washed my hands. If I were OCD, I’d never be able to leave the bathroom, victim of an endless tip-then wash-hands then do it again cycle! Lol
