5 star dive bar. Music every day, nice staff, good food, good prices. Occasionally has a cover charge. Plenty of experienced musicians like to hang out here. Come for Blues, rock, reggae and more.

Loved this place!!!! Great food and terrific music!!! Try Thursday the music starts at 5 or 5:30 until 7:30 and then starts again at 8:00 until 12:00. Great for old people like us!!! Nothing fancy. Great blues music in a great dive bar.

The blues music dive bar of Minneapolis! Good bar food, great service, friendly patrons. Have had some pretty grumpy bartenders in the past (YEARS ago) but no bad experience now. The renovations are great - feels more open and brighter inside.
I'm a huge fan of bar "pork tenderloin" sandwiches and couldn't resist ordering one during my last visit. It was really just a deep fried pork chop on a bun. Very delicious but not an actual pork tenderloin.
Note: it is very loud when the band plays, do not go for a date night and expect to carry a conversation.

I finally got around to eating at Shaw’s. It was lunch on a Saturday and hardly anyone was there. The kitchen was open though.
I had heard about the Sun burger as really good reproduction of the old Sun drive in burger. The Sun drive in was shut down well before I moved to Minneapolis, but I figured I’d give it a try. It was delicious. Messy and delicious.
The onion rings were perfect. I may come back in just to eat the onion rings.
Next up on the list is the Shaw’s burger. The menu says it’s a “3 napkin” burger, and I imagine it’s true. I’ll be trying it soon.
They have live music here on most weekends and other dates. The lineup is on the wall in the back if you’d like to plan ahead to see a band in particular.

Great hole in the wall! Food was amazing! One of those incredible burgers that once you pick it up & bite in, you can't put down till it's gone. Make sure there's plenty of napkins. Staff is super nice & helpful!

Had a wonderful night last night at Shaw’s bar in NE Mpls. Fantastic live music by Mia Dorr and the Funkin' Bluesers - great blues, funk, soul and dance music. Fun friendly crowd. I am enjoying places that with affection might be called burger dive bars. Shaw's is one of the best. Their specialty, The Shaw Burger, is well worthwhile! What burger dive bars do you enjoy? I’d love to check them out. Bonus if there is live music to go with the burger!
Visiting from Iowa and stopped in at random. Didn’t get the bar tenders name but i had food and a cold beer in my hand in maybe 10 minutes. She was awesome!!! They had a live band and the ufc fights playing. 10/10 would go back.
Shaw’s is a NE staple. Respected music venue and pretty damn good food! The Shaw’s burger is a gooey behemoth of delicious. Tacos on Wed rock as well!
