Excellent food. Wild caught salmon, prawns, calamari were fresh and perfectly cooked. Nice atmosphere and close to the Aquarium. Caesar salad was delicious.
Some of the freshest seafood I've ever had. Don't pass on the calamari, it could be the best I've had! Also had shrimp and fish and chips. Enjoyed the shrimp the more than the fish but both were great.
Very fresh and inexpensive once you get out of the tourist parts. Busy, order to go. I got fish and chips, but the fried calamari and chips was delicious. I will be ordering that next time. The batter the calamari is fried with includes herbs and garlic. Will be going back!!
A couple blocks off Cannery Row. The dinning area is small (30+). Part of a fresh fish market. Saw a large take out of fresh seafood while we were there. Had about a 25 minute wait. Service was quick and efficient. We both had the White Clam Chowder to start, both of us like it. I had the grilled Calamari while my wife had the crab salad sandwich. My calamari was very good. The crab sandwich was large and packed with crab. My wife said she could tell the crab was probably frozen (as it was out of season ) but still good. Would go back.
...came highly recommended....There were only a few tables occupied when we got there, but by the time we were finished, it was almost filled, and we know why. The food was excellent...The fish was tender and moist and unbelievably fresh. It literally melted in your mouth. The rice was perfect and was served with big chunks of carrots and broccoli.
Excellent Fresh Fish. You know the food is fresh when you are told they sell what the fisherman caught that day. The place is a couple blocks from the main strip of Cannary Row but right next to an inexpensive parking garage. Not particularly special dining area but it fits with the name Fish Market. I ordered the catch of the day which was excellent. Never heard the name before but it was like a buttery cod served on rice. Huge helping that I could not finish. My two friends had the same with several beers and we all agreed it was an excellent meal.
Saw this while looking for a $$ seafood place close by and as I was reading out the description, a local shop owner said he goes here for seafood and loves it. We are so glad he recommended this lovely little family owned place! Fresh fish and crab, quick and friendly service and delicious food! Thank you so much for a great local experience!
Runs on a very small staff, not great if you're in a hurry. Great food, though.
Loved it. Great food for the price. Just what I was hoping for so close to water's edge.
Our kids loved the fish and chips, crab cakes were good and Sable fish was probably the freshest tasting fish I have ever had. I highly recommend this place, plus friendly & fast service.
Really excellent dinner for a reasonable price.
Delicious food at a reasonable price. So glad we found this cute little place
Wonderful restaurant away from touristy Cannery Row. We wanted to find a good seafood restaurant where the locals ate...and this was it! It's an interesting place. They sell food in the restaurant and also sell fresh seafood in the market for people to buy and take home.
The service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious! If I'm ever in Monterey again, I will definitely hit this place again!
Fresh Seafood/Great Meals. The Sea Harvest has the freshest seafood in Monterey County. Great folks who enjoy taking care of their customers. I go there on Fridays or the weekend for some Ciopinno fixins'.
The meals are fresh, tasty and plenty. I've taken many out of town guests there for lunch. You won't go wrong!

Very Fresh. Hard to get seafood more fresh than from a good seafood market. Sea Harvest provides a welcome break from the expensive peninsula dining scene with great prices and great food. My usual is the fish and chips. It's fairly kid friendly, but with a small dining area a crying kid is going to be a distraction to everyone.
I came here on vacation and after a long day at the aquarium the fish and chips were pretty good. Crispy batter, fresh fish (we got the halibut for some reason my sister convinced us to get halibut rather than normal fish and chips), and really really good clam chowder. You get a whole pint for $7 and it's definitely flavorful, it's not just cream and fillings. The place is rather laid back you can order wines for the table. Service is friendly the restaurant is fairly clean.
On the recommendation of friends, we found ourselves at Sea Harvest Restaurant & Fish Market, and what a charmingly unassuming gem it turned out to be!
The decor and ambiance of the place are straightforward and devoid of pretension, offering a simple, no-frills dining experience that is refreshingly genuine. We ordered our meals and chose to sit in the quaint backyard seating area, surrounded by an unobtrusive atmosphere that allowed the food to take center stage.
Speaking of the food - it was delectably noteworthy. Every bite suggested careful preparation and a knowledge of balanced flavors, providing a delightful culinary experience in an unexpected setting.
As we reached the end of our meal, a new appreciation blossomed for the understated nature of Sea Harvest. There was something intrinsically comforting and homely about the place that enhanced the overall dining experience, transforming what at first seemed overly simple into something genuinely appealing.
We left Sea Harvest not only with satisfied palates but also with the realization that sometimes the simplest places can offer the richest experiences. We’ll certainly return and would recommend it to others who find beauty in simplicity coupled with a savory meal.
So good that I went back twice in two days.
Grilled swordfish, fish and chips, jumbo prawns were what we ate over the two days and none disappointed.
Swordfish was grilled tenderly and the jumbo prawns juicy. Fish and chips were delicious as well.
Portions generous.
Service excellent, gave us all sauces though we only requested for tomato and salsa.
Highly recommended.
On our journey to find the best fish and chips this week, Sea harvest is top of the list currently. Fish was really fresh and food took no less than 5 min believe it or not.
$40 caught us a basket of calamari, fish n chips and a pint of chowder and 2 cans of soda. Good value here.

We came in the morning on holiday, and it wasn't too busy, so it was easy to find a table. By the time we left, it was packed, and I could see why. The seafood was fresh. I mostly enjoyed the clam chowder on a bread bowl, which tasted very homemade. The only thing I didn't like as much was the fried fish. It was soggy and fell apart when I picked it up. Other than that food was great! Also, they have no soda machine, so that was kind of a bummer
Several kinds of wine are also available and satisfying. I especially enjoyed the shrimp with Cajun sauce. You can enjoy seafood in Monterey at a reasonable price.
I will go back next time.
Combo fish and chips excellent. Rockfish is a nice fish. Well cooked simply with butter and garlic.
I stopped by for lunch with my family and had a great time. They have a ton of seating inside and out in the back. We got the clam chowder, and combination & chips. The chowder was delicious and really creamy. We loved the calamari and fish in our combination platter as well.
Great food! Counter serve fish market and small dining area. We had the fish tacos, fish and Chips and grilled salmon.
The place sells fresh fish and also for meals. We had the fried combo which had a light batter and the grilled rockfish which was meaty and nicely accompanied with rice and veg. As an Englishman I can commend the quality and flavour of the fried fish and chips
This is a cute place with walk up to counter service. Friendly staff. Family friendly. We ordered 2 clam chowders, Fish & Chips and a Prawn cocktail. A little pricey considering, but it's in a great location. Have quarters for meter parking. I'm pretty sure the parking app gypped me!
Clean and great value place to get seafood classics in Monterey Bay. For the area, it’s definitely one of the fairly priced options to get a great portion of food. The fish and chips tasted great and the calamari was fantastic. The garlic bread was a good plus as well. Also enjoyed the clam chowder. There’s indoor and outdoor seating and service is pretty fast. They also serve the fish fresh by the pound. An overall solid place to get good food without breaking the bank.
Wow! The food was absolutely fantastic! I had the fried fish tacos which were so so tasty. Also shared a clam chowder in a bread bowl which was great as well. My 4yr old had the kids fish n chips which he loved. Prices where very fair. Seating area is very family friendly. My only complaint is not having tried this place before! Will be coming back soon.
Great fish fry place by Canary Row, near the aquarium.
The combo is the best deal, it seems. 2 fish pieces, 5 shrimp, and a bunch of calamari + fries. The house made clam sauce went well with everything.
Their fresh fish options are very good. With rice and vegetables it’s very filling. I would have liked to order a side Caesar salad as well, but $8 for a Caesar salad is pretty crazy. The fried calamari is was good as well. I do recommend it over going to an extremely over priced tourist attraction like Fish Hopper or Louie Linguini’s.
We were looking for an informal seafood restaurant and this fit the bill. It's a "paper plate and plastic forks" place with counter service. Nothing fancy. The prices are in line with the rest of the restaurants in the area. They have a few tables inside, which were all occupied when we arrived, but they had plenty of seating available on the patio in the back, which was clean and well kept, lit nicely, and overall a nice place to sit and eat, although a tiny bit chilly on a November evening. The wait after we ordered wasn't bad at all for such a busy evening.
We ordered the kids chicken and chips for our daughter, which she enjoyed. I didn't try the chicken, but the chips were delicious and fresh.
We shared a pint of clam chowder, which was hot, but otherwise just ok.
Husband enjoyed the crab cake special on Caesar salad and I had the grilled garlic and butter prawns over rice and veggies. I felt that the chowder and prawns could have been better seasoned (perhaps I would have preferred the Cajun style), and my veggies, while fresh and well cooked, were cold around the edges by the time I got my plate.
Overall it was a nice place to eat, and I would probably try it again.
solid and relatively reasonably priced seafood! outdoor seating was nice
Great food and a definite upgrade away from the more touristy spots down the hill. Straight up good, fresh, and tasty food. Definitely worth our time and money.
