When you just want to have the whole backyard and 5 fried pickles all for yourself on one fine Saturday afternoon. Feeling so lucky! Good music & service and overall very cozy atmosphere. Cheers!
A Hidden Gem.
Down to earth bar with upscale food. Pleasantly unexpected. Can't believe I haven't set foot in here before, but I will say this, I plan on becoming a regular customer here.

We came in mid day to get a drink and appetizer. The bartender who we referred to as “Mama” was a gem! Very sweet and great service. We came back later that night after a show to see her but she had just gotten off but she made sure the new bartender knew what we wanted. We enjoyed the music and dancing later that night but hate there was too much cigarette smoke on the patio to enjoy that. The cocktails were good and so were the jalapeño poppers!
Great atmosphere for brunch with a wide menu of unique items. Food was well prepared even down to the eggs which were perfectly done. Wait staff was phenomenal also. Well done!
Great atmosphere with a focus on various Whiskies and food. Most of the crowd appears to be locals. (At least on the night we went)
I had the lobster mac and cheese which was just absolutely decadent and rich. Accompanied by meaty pieces of lobster, their own cheese sauce is made in house and blends well into the dish. The cheese is a little too rich as it was overwhelming. I couldn't finish the meal. Fantastic flavor, generous portion, just couldnt finish because of the richness.
I would return and try something else, the menu appears to have great variety.
Had the Nancos and a couple of beers on a Monday in Dec so it was quiet but would be a could spot on a busy night.
Great Locals Hangout, you can drink, smoke and dance on the patio while listening to some of Monterey's best musicians most nights if the week. Inside is warm & cozy. Darts, music and GREAT FOOD. Can't go wrong, with a whiskey flight and pigs wings!
Great food, fantastic wine, superb service! Stumbled into Bull and Bear while wandering the street. Highly recommend !

I definitely recommend this place. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner last night after our day at the aquarium. After browsing through different restaurant menus along the street, this place caught our interest. They have a fantastic happy hour, great food, and, friendly service. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the drinks and appetizers. We had the fried calamari, potato skins, and fish tacos. The tacos were our least favorite item though. The chocolate chip cookie came in a hot skillet and was a fantastic dessert to end the night with. Our server was also very nice and always checking in on us. We would definitely come back here if we find ourselves in the area again.
Great service, great food. We had a basket of garlic fries as an appetizer, they were so crispy, hot and delicious. We had salads and burgers, the battered bull burger was cooked to perfection. I asked for medium rare and it was. The salad was fresh. The bun was honestly the best burger bun I've ever had. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Service was friendly and efficient. The crowd was easy, there's darts, great seating with high back wooden benches, tables and bar, and you could easily watch the sports on TVs if you wanted.
Good selection of drinks, and the happy hour menu was priced well. The B&B burger was good, onions were tasty. The half order of nachos was gigantic. You could probably feed 4 people off of it. The pig wings were a unique item, I got a few and they were tasty, but as far as I could tell there was only one flavor. The whiskey selection was pretty good, of course. I would definitely come back. They do have high chairs if you want to bring your kids for a meal.
We came in a little too late for food, but i have heard great things. The atmosphere of this place though was awesome. They were very welcoming and have a large selection of drinks and beers on tap. Their is an indoor fire pit and 2 dart boards with a very nice setup. Will definitely be back here! Drive safe, Uber home!
This place is great. Sunday has a live band out on the patio. Stayed and had dinner, the seafood is great with blackened prawns and starfish. Amazing flavor for a local bar. If you just want a side, the brussel sprouts with bacon will hold you over and some more. A good and lively joint with good direction on other local places.
The service here is great! And the food is delicious. Also they have a great Trivia night on Wednesday nights from 8 to 10. If you want a seat you will have to show up by 7:15-7:30 and no more than 6 people in a group. Minus one star because my friend was served a terrible glass of Flat Tire here.
Right in the heart of downtown Monterey. We went there looking for breakfast. They didn't open until 10 a.m. but was worth the few minutes of wait as they serve a very nice and afordable brunch on weekends. The atmosphere was definitely bar centric. Do have a large outdoor area at back which would be nice if weather permitted. Menu was not large but overall a nice selection. Again food was quite good and portions were ample. Service was OK. Not sure how they would handle it if they were really busy. For now it's a place you certainly should consider. Most items were around $10 to $12 or less.
