Review Two Olives Cafe - Moore

Bev votta
Awesome large chicken salad & greens with a balsamic dressing! Delicious looking menu! Owner Trisha very pleasant!

Wonderful ladies run Two Olives. They only serve sandwiches and sides at the cafe but they also cater. They are willing to make anything you can imagine.

I've eaten here twice. The first time was with a group of girlfriends. We all got something different and shared bites since none of us had been there before. There was not anything that was not amazing: pizza, salad, pasta salad, soup, sandwiches. I know a few reviews said the hours and menu are limited. I disagree and think its a quality lunch spot. I went back the second time this last weekend specifically for the rustic veggie sandwich. Amazing! I took my mom who was visiting from Maryland, and she was impressed too. The service both times was quick and friendly. The atmosphere is even super cute. I'll definitely be back, but next time I'll save room for one of the delicious looking homemade desserts.

Pretty much the epitome of "hidden gem". Mostly just old folks go in there but there food is fantastic and the atmosphere is cozy. Their drink selection could be better but fit the price and quality of the food I can't complain. The cashier lady isn't exactly friendly but she's not rude. She just wants to take your order.

Two Olives is always packed and busy, but the staff has always been so considerate and nice. Even though you can tell they are sometimes overwhelmed by the amount of customers. The service is always prompt. I wish they were open more than just lunchtime Mon-Sat. It is a wonderful place to meet a friend or family members for lunch. They also do well with big groups. I had my bridal luncheon there a while back, and it was perfect. The Chicken Salad Sandwich is the best I have ever had. It has ruined me for all other chicken salad sandwiches. After having something that great, I just can’t eat the mediocre versions anymore. The Mediterranean Chicken Sandwich is also perfectly done. The bread they use on their sandwiches has the perfect crunch, but also melts in your mouth. The pasta salad that you can get as a side (some crazy people actually choose chips) is so awesome! It consists of noodles in this delicious, balsamic vinaigrette based sauce with little bits of tomato and black olive mixed in. So good! To finish off your meal, the lemon bars are the perfect balance of tart, sweet, and savory.

The food was great, the food is always great. The staff was quite the opposite. The lady acted like we were a complete burden when we came in to order and was very preoccupied with polishing the silverware. She was rude to my co-worker and my mother. Towards the end of the meal it seemed that she was in a little bit of a better mood however my co-worker noted that the last time they came in to eat she was very rude then also. I'm used to people acting like they don't enjoy their life when eating in a diner but this to me was such a negative attitude that I felt the need to give this review. I can't say that I will be returning any time soon based on this experience. Anyone who has a job in customer service should know the importance of smiling and at least ACTING nice in front of a customer.

I've been here about 6 or 7 times now, and each time I'm blown away by the quality of the entire experience. The food is to die for, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the decor is super vintage, which I love. Definitely try the Chicken Salad Sandwich, the Asian Salad, and ALL the soups. This is one of my favorite places to have lunch at.

We recently moved here and had been planning on trying this place out. I had to run to my son's school which is right across the street. There were 3 parking spaces open. One had a handicapped and a reserved for 2 olives sign, then the next one also had a 2 olives sign then the one beside had nothing so I parked there assuming I could. I started walking towards the school and a guy who was outside started harassing me about it. I would have gladly apologized and moved had he been nice. Whoever placed the signs apparently did not place them correctly resulting in this. He was a total jackass about it and ripped the other sign out and placed it in front of my car. I will never give my money to an establishment that treats people like this. There are plenty of other restaurants around here that can treat people with respect and politeness.

Great menu & nice setting. Although the service was taxed to wait on and serve so many patrons, they did so in a timely and cheerful manner. I've never been there that they were rude or discourteous.
The food is wonderful and fresh with the chicken salad either with lettuce or as a sandwich is yum...! Love the iced tea, too. They do a lot to help the community.

Good food service is not.. Every time I go eat at two olives, the lady taking food orders is always rude. She makes you feel like it's a bad thing that you come there to eat. She hurries me EVERYTIME like if I'm wasting her time. I do think twice about going to eat at two olives because she is so rude. But food is great and delicious!

Good food bad service. We love to come to lunch here, the food is excellent. The owner is awsome, very sweet. The one bad thing that makes us not want to come back is the cashier. She is very very rude, makes you wait to order but when she finally sees you she hurries you so much it makes you feel rushed. Before I even got my change from paying she was taking the next order in line. Getting a cashier that acted like they cared and wanted to be here would make this place a much better experience. Stuffed olive may be the better choice until she has an attitude change or is no longer there.

Customer. I work really close to this place. Love their food but the service is horrible... The person who runs the place does not have any kind of work discipline. They open whenever they want. They have a schedule posted on the door and also tell you their times of operation on their voice mail but they do not follow it. This is a HUGE inconvenience for people specially when they have a lunch limit. If they would only be kind enough to post a sign that tells clients they will be close so people don’t wait around to see if someone shows up to open the place. Not to mention how it takes them forever to answer their phone. People have to call many many times.
This is not the first time, 2nd or 3rd these two issues happened. It’s been done many times to myself and co-workers. Their food is good but not good enough for me to give money to someone that disrespects clients in manner. I would tell the owner if she doesn't want to work, sell the business to someone that WILL work and respect their customers.

Enjoyed lunch. I had the tomato basil soup, and it doesn't compare to description read in another review; it was hearty and good. I ordered the chicken salad on gluten free bread, and it also had a good flavor and texture. The restaurant had run out of turkey for sandwiches. I would have probably run to the store for more, rather than leave additional customers unhappy. I liked the physical atmosphere, the cost of the food was reasonable, the rasberry tea was not tasty ( I would order water next time), and staff was generally accommodating.

Still can't like it. This place is close to me so I want to like it, but I just can't. The tomato basil soup I ordered was the downfall for me. It tasted like a can of crushed tomatoes with a couple shakes of dried basil. Food is below panera bread, pasta salad drowned in balsamic. Ceaser salad had globs of dressing. Just can't like this place, this was the third time I've been in and I think it'll be my last.

I love this place and love to eat here often. However, I'm going to have a hard time coming back as I've hit my final straw. Tammy is just getting increasingly rude and short with people. The last several times I've ordered take-out she is very short and has hung up before I'm finished placing my order. It's like she thinks, "Okay, you've ordered your sandwich. That's all you get. On to the next task." I love supporting small business and don't mind paying higher prices but to be constantly treated like I'm just another order is not worth it. Then when you pick up, she is SO, SO frazzled. Either get her more help or she needs to be in the back. I understand it's busy but there's no need to be rude. She makes me feel like I'm bothering her both when I place my order and pick it up. She'll stop in the middle of checking me out to deliver food to tables. As in, all I have left to do is sign my cc slip and she'll walk away to wait on several tables. Then its another several minutes where I could have already be on my way. I absolutely love Two Olives and the owner is SO, SO VERY, VERY nice. That's why have very mixed feelings about leaving this review. Love the owner but it bothers me to be constantly treated this way by staff. Won't be back until I've heard it's improved.

Fave lunch spot in Moore. Never had anything here I didn't like. Very small place and tables are really close together - sure wish they'd expand. (their place and their hours)

Big fan!

Great for takeout too!. I've dined in, but with a fussy baby boy, I usually get takeout for me and my dad (sometimes for hubby too). I love love love their Mediterranean Chicken sammy with pasta salad. I can not get enough of their pasta salad. Whoever said it was nasty has a poor taste palate, even my son loves it! Anyways, the service has always been friendly and the food is always delicious! I love how they give you so much food compared to another similar restaurant. Definitely, like Two Olives Better than The Stuffed Olive.

Two Olives....yummy . Hidden in a brick building in Old Town Moore on Broadway is this little gem of a resturaunt. It was very clean and the waitress and owner were very friendly. The atmosphere and decor are kind of like a tea room with a Tuscan flair. I had the roast beef sandwich and the pasta salad and it was worth every penny. I will definitely will be going back there again and would recommend this little place to all that are looking for freshly made food and a great atmosphere. I give it ☺☺☺☺☺.

Went there today at 11 for lunch, stood around for 5 minutes without even being greeted. As I left, a lady outside wearing an apron was talking on her cell phone. No way to run a business, I won't be back.

Great atmosphere!. I love the food (especially the chicken salad sandwich), the service, and the atmosphere! Can't wait to go back!

Excellent chicken salad. A lot of food for a reasonable price.

A Tuscan Adventure. I don't know why, but the word "tuscan" popped into my mind. It's a charming but small cafe in what was probably a large classroom or two of an old school which has been divided into artsy craftsy type businesses. There were four of us who had soup, salad, and sandwiches, and we're picky eaters. The black bean soup was probably the best thing. I read one review here which complained about the pasta salad tasting like vinegar. The salad is actually pasta with a beautiful balsamic vinagrette, and yes, the balsamic vinegar is the star of the dressing, as it should be. You know, you pay that much extra for a specialty vinegar, you want to taste it. I thought it was superb. Our sandwiches were loaded with filling, everything was nicely presented, freshly made, and delicious. We found it to be a great value and a wonderful find. Thank you Groupon for introducing us to Two Olives.

First visit wasn't very good. My wife, and I, had a Groupon for this cafe. We decided to try it out last Saturday. I ordered the Sicilian sandwich and a bowl of chicken and rice soup. My wife ordered the chicken pasta. Our order came out to $20.08. Our Groupon was for $20. So, our meal cost 8 cents. I gave a dollar to the lady who took our order, but she told me to keep it. Instead I placed it in the "tip" jar.

The place was crowded, but we were able to get a table. The food didn't take long to arrive. My wife's chicken pasta looked strange. The pasta was a medium brown color with dark specks on it. But, the plate was piled high and would easily make two meals. My sandwich and soup looked fantastic. So far everything was going great.

My wife took one bite of the pasta, with a little chicken on it, and that was it. I took a bite of her pasta and it was just plain nasty. The pasta tasted like it had been soaked in vinegar. I like vinegar, but even that was too much for me. The chicken looked like it came from a can. And, the entire dish was cold.

My sandwich was decent. I couldn't really taste the other ingrediants due to the thick layer of deli mustard over everything. I ate the sandwich, but it wasn't memorable by any means. The soup, however, was fantastic. I highly recommend the chicken and rice soup.

The owner realized that we weren't eating the chicken pasta and asked what was wrong. We told her and she became offended. She did offer to get us something else, but by that time I was done with my meal and we were ready to go. On the way out the door the lady who took our order tried to repay us, in cash, for the bad meal.

We reminded her that we used a Groupon. The $10 we paid for the Groupon covered the sandwich and soup that I ate, and our drinks. So, we felt we got our money's worth and refused the cash.

I had very high hopes for this place. And, we might try it again someday just to see if the first time was a fluke. But, I can guarantee we will not be ordering the chicken pasta.

It seemed like a good idea--a Groupon for a cafe in an old school in my home town. Took my daughter-in-law for lunch. It took 45 minutes to get our food. People who came after us were served first. The counter lady got their order confused with ours, because there were children in both parties. She snapped when my daughter-in-law asked & said we weren't sitting where we said--outside, which is true. But I told her when a table opened up inside that we were taking it. She acknowledged us twice. And she never went outside to look for us. She just screwed up, which is understandable, but I was disappointed that she lied about it & blamed us. The food. So so. Average. Decent bread. Deli meat available at any local supermarket. Certainly not worth the wait. The soda machine was broken. They had raspberry tea & water. I don't care for raspberry tea, so the option of plain would have been nice. The woman I assume is the owner did give us dessert on the house. Bottom line: once was enough.

I think that this place should win a Gold Medal at the 2012 London Summer Olympics.

This is one of the best cafe type restaurants I have been to. Their prices are modest and the food is amazing. The Mediterranean Chicken Sandwich was very good and fairly healthy. I definitely recommend this to anyone with a passion for great food.

Great lunch spot. A very nice spot for lunch. The mediterranean chicken sandwich was fabulous. My daughter found the tomato basil soup to be one of the few she has actually liked. The bread is particularly good.

Friendly and yummy. I would recommend this restaurant.

The food was really good. I tried a soup, salad and sandwich and they were all delicious. The cookie I had afterwards was great too.

The atmosphere is casual and comfortable...beautiful, warm and inviting.

The staff was so friendly. They made it obvious that they were really glad we were there.

We had to drive a bit to get there, but it is worth it. Can't wait to go back.

Great!. I was visiting the Moore Norman Technology Center for a training class, and Two Olives was recommended for lunch. I was so happy we decided to go here! I got a Muffuletta and Pasta Salad. Both were wonderful! I will be visiting again soon!
Ashley
Wonderful food! The salads are wonderful, especially the chicken and the Italian. The sandwiches and soups are great too... But the rolo brownie, now it's to die for!

Yum fun. 3 generations, 2 renewing their vowels and my son and sweetest new daughter- in -law resighting theirs for a informal small group of family. It was really nice and the food was really great. The staff was very helpful and honesly nice.
Would recommend it to anyone looking for a small quaint place to gather friends , baby showers, girls night out , lots of ways to injoy the availablity of private fun.

Not as good as it once was.. I've loved Two Olives in the past but for the last year or so it seems as though it's gone down hill. They are cutting back on ingredients in their pasta and slightly in their sandwiches. The last two times that my mother and I have lunched there we had a hard time finding a clean table and had to ask for someone to clean one off. Twice we have sat for our entire lunch hour waiting on our food. We had to ask that it be boxed up, so we could leave and get back to work. The nice girl at the register, who was busting her tail to keep up with the register, orders, bussing tables and bring out food did offer us a cookie for our long wait. They appear to be understaffed.

Great place to go for a lunch date with your significant other. Good sandwiches and pasta.

Whole table happy. My cooking club met there and we ordered a variety of things and everyone was happy with their food. We had chicken salad, tomato basil soup, pizza, pasta salad, veggie sandwich, caesar salad. Food was fresh, high quality and beautiful. You order at the counter, fill your own styrofoam :( cup with beverage. Food is brought to the table on a real plate, and they remove your empty plates. Coffee was not that good. Dining room on the small side, so get there early. Located in a charming old brick school, the decor/atmosphere is quite pleasant. Employees were delightful. I will be back!

I think it changed hands awhile back, still good but it was better!

Great lunch spot in Moore! I had a pick 3 plate and a drink all for 10 bucks. The Mediterranean chicken sandwich and pepperoni/ bacon pizza are great. The caesar salad was a Caesar salad. Looking forward to trying some more items the next time I stop in!

Cooks Are Not New, and It Did Not Move. Two Olives has gone through some changes lately. One of the original two owners bought the other out, and is now the sole owner. The current kitchen staff is made of former Two Olives employees. The woman who takes your order is new, but everyone else is not. The food tastes the same to me as it always has. The service is friendly and cheerful, and the staff will go out of their way to make you happy.

Amazing!!!! I love two olives. One of the best kept secrets in all of the metro.

This is the best place in Moore. I can't believe they are only open for lunch. this is the best kept secret in Moore. the food is very, very good.

Rustic vegetarian is awesome. Their rustic vegetarian sandwich has grilled veggies with some kind of vinegar and oil sauce with goat cheese that really hits the spot.

Great Food and Great Style. The food is healthy, tasty, and well presented. The ambiance of what used to be one of the fourth grade classrooms when this was Upper Central is delightful. The service is friendly and great!
