The Tuna Tartar is my absolute favorite thing on the menu. The sushi is always amazing and delicious. My boyfriend and I absolutely love this place. Joel and his staff are friendly and they stay on top of ur service. Joel himself is typically there and he is always a wonderful owner and host. I can't say enough good things about this place! If u haven't tried this place, u definitely need to take an evening and give them a try.

This place is awesome ! The ginger dressing is outrageous ! I don't like the raw rolls but the shrimp tempura and veggie rolls are amazing !!! Everything's always been great ! The staff is super friendly and accommodating ! The owner is always out on the floor checking on everyone and telling the funniest jokes !!! He actually checks on you more then the waiter/waitress ! The pink volcano roll OMG And the Nirvana roll.... try it !!

Drove all the way from Durham to try their Filipino food (Kare-Kare, pinakbet, lechon kawali, dinuguan, halo-halo, and Biko with mango). My son tried their shrimp Tempura. Everything we ordered tasted great. The service was prompt and the owner was very nice. Will definitely return and recommend it. The drive was worth it.

Great place for great food. Friendly and accommodating staff. Orders take a while because they are made fresh but the wait was well worth it.

Must go! You have to try the Filipino food. It would be a pity to go and not try any of the amazing Filipino options. There are a ton of other dishes including sushi available for people who aren't open to it but you will be missing out! We got three dishes and a dessert for only $40. Super affordable and the food was delicious!!!! I will definitely be returning and getting sisig again as well as trying more menu options. The customer service was also superb! Very attentive and caring. The owner was really funny too.

I love Joel’s! We always ask for the “secret” Filipino menu when visiting! Most recently (several days ago) we had lumpia, sisig, and lechon kawali for lunch which was fabulous as always! It is always nice for my significant other (from the Philippines) to be able to have a taste of home and to be able to share it with others as well! There is definitely authentic food here! 🤗

Four stars.. why only four? Well everyone can improve. But this place has wonderful food. I've had Filipino cuisine and will be back. The staff is friendly and attentive. The overall operation is nice. The menu is robust but a tad overwhelming. The bar area is a bit congested and watching the staff prep food is neat. The only reason I gave four and not five is this is my first visit here and it was during lunch. But if you're in the area feel free to pop in and give them a try. You do have to ask for Filipino cuisine menu and you can sit anywhere. Cheers!

Joel's is definitely my favorite spot whenever I crave for authentic Filipino food which is a perfect alternate cuisine for Chinese food. You need to request their secret menu though to order real Filipino food but will be pleasantly surprised. And if u r meat lover like I am, highly recommend crispy PATA which is deep fried pork hog. Another favorite of mine is Liang and u could add the crispy pork belly on top.
