Authentic Guatemalan. Had a tamal that was to die for and the fried plantains were amazing!
First time here today and I am so glad we tried this place! It is a hole in the wall so to speak, but the food is very, very good. Very authentic. The service is excellent! Everyone that was serving food on the floor checked on us. Very nice people too. It was busy, but so worth it. It’s also a market, and meat market. It’s a little pricey but it is worth it. Gotta check this place out if you like authentic Guatemalian (Mexican) food. I highly recommend this place!! Can’t wait to go back

Worth the 3 minute drive off the highway. Polo loco was very fresh, beans and rice spiced with fresh spices, avocado perfect. The service is fast and very friendly.

We went to a party last year that was catered by Mi Pais, and it was so outstanding we knew who we would get the next time we needed catering. So this spring we had a party for my wife for her birthday, and we hit a home run with Mi Pais. We had a burrito/taco bar with chicken, beef, shrimp, rice, and black beans, and it was just as good as it was last year. Everyone loved it. They were easy to work with, right up until the end when we added some food to our order. To boot, their prices were fantastic. I highly recommend them! Gracias Mi Pais!
Just went there today for the first time. I’m from Charlotte and just moved here. Was looking for a good local spot. I got the beef stew and it was amazing. So full of flavor. Thanks for satisfying this pregnant ladies cravings. I had no idea how to pronounce anything so I’m sure I sounded awkward lol. But the cashier was very nice to me. I can’t wait to come back and keep trying different dishes. Everything on the menu looked delicious.

We ordered veggies nachos and these were the best nachos I have ever had in my 18 years of being in this country.
3 of us ended up finishing one plate of nachos EACH with 3 drinks each too❤️❤️❤️
This place is awesome! Best fresh authentic food. Best I've tried in Morganton thus far and I've been to them all even ones that are now closed. They actually sell fresh meats there too if you're interested in making your own. Super friendly and catering. I will definitely return. Thanks for such awesome service....hate I waited so long to try. A hidden gem!

I love to check out little restaurants like this. They are like little hidden gems amongst average stones. This one in particular is one I will definitely be coming back to. The food was delicious and very affordable. The description said small plates but neither my fajita nachos nor my wifes burrito was small. Two people could easily share a plate. The tacos de lengua were fantastic and seasoned perfectly. If your looking for great tasting Guatemalan food, definitely give this place a try. I'm sure you won't regret it.
