We ate at Hwy 55 in Mount Olive tonight. It was a great experience from the time we entered the building, welcomed by a very kind person, until we exited the building and were thanked for our visit and wished us a great night. All the staff were so customer oriented and were kind and helpful. The food was wonderful and the prices were very reasonable. The facility was extremely clean and everything was nice and ordering. There were ample staff which resulted in no wait time. Above all though, the service was so outstanding. This was our first time to eat there but it definitely will not be our last. What a well managed facility. We live in Clinton and have a Hwy 55 in our town but it is awful and we do not eat there. It is nice to know we have another Hwy 55 within 30 miles (Mount Olive) that is worth the drive. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
Had the John Boy & Billy burger with fries. Great burger, the fries where just right too, our server was awesome and kept us attended. A group of 5 people for lunch and the price was very reasonable. I'm from out of town and have never tried Hwy 55 burgers, I can guarantee that when I run across another one, I'll stop. Thanks
I have enjoyed all the food I have tried from here, my favorite being the Moose (Chicken Cheesesteak) and the chili cheese fries. The service is amazing and everyone is always nice every time I go!
Very good food and friendly staff. Enjoyable visit before concert at UMO
We all had lunch here before heading back to Ohio. Amazing service and the food was delicious!!
Thank you all for sharing your Saturday with us--It was so inspiring seeing everyone--LYN
I think about Highway 55 everytime I go home I eat there delicious food people are very nice
The food was amazing and the service was on spot! Wish we had one of these near our home town. Delicious!!
The Cheesesteak was accompanied by a basket of fries and finished with a malted chocolate milkshake. And it was all fantastic!
First time ever at this chain restaurant and the food was super good! What I liked is that I ordered a shrimp po boy & onions rings and it came out exactly like the pics on the menu. Portions are great for the price and cooked perfect. Not only that my server Layla was fantastic in menu selections as I was there with a coworker who was happy also. Thank you for a great meal and Layla as our server. Definitely will be back when we work here next.
We were reluctant to try at first due to the lower reviews but glad we did. Staff were super friendly and patient. Food was fast and fresh. Tasted amazing! Greeted both when we entered and when we left. Restaurant was clean and they were relatively steady. Great job!
Hwy 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries is a fast casual restaurant chain that operates primarily on the East Coast of the United States. Formerly known as Andy's Cheesesteaks and Cheeseburgers, the first location opened in Goldsboro, North Carolina, in 1991. It now has 135 restaurants in the United States. I ate at the restaurant in Mt Olive and the staff was friendly and eager to serve and the food was fulfilling.
We love Highway 55 and it was her first visit from Belarus 🇧🇾
Update: visited today. The day after xmas. I understand employees call out but to wait on people that came in after us is unacceptable. This has happened a few times now waiting 15 minutes for menus.
HOT!!!!! Wow, where is the AC?
The sun beats down heating up the place. The afternoon sun is in your eyes. Tint on windows is poor!
Whomever designed this place was focused on looks and not customer comfort.

New building. Welcoming
Because of Covid good workers hard to find.
The service I got was courteous.
Thank you Sarah & Nykole
Everyone was serious about their job. No goofing off.
I'm impressed!
Lettuce on burger was wilted, brown, slimey.
Normally the fries at this new establishment are undercooked and limp.
I said to make sure not limp.
Now crispy but not burnt. Perfect salt. Used to be to heavy.
My son said portion size on cheese steak is half size. He said he won't be back to Mt olive one..
A waitress picked item off of floor. She immediately washed hands.
Flies. Need those silver things at the door.

So far so good.
Really enjoyed this location. Our waitress, Emma was such a pleasure. Will come again.
Drove to Mt Olive for a VA hearing test. Stopped in for lunch at the Highway 55 ...what a treat! The service was outstanding and the cheese steak sandwich was the best I had ever had, ANYWHERE! The dining room was open, bright and very inviting. My waitress was as sweet as my tea. Not only would I eat there again, but I live in Rocky Mount and I'd drive there again for the sole purpose of eating there again! We have a Highway 55 in Rocky Mount but it's a hole-in-the-wall strip location. Mt Olive's is way out front. Thanks for being there!
My husband and I love this Hwy 55. The girls there are fantastic and Will cooks the best grilled chicken plate ever. Finish it off with a one scoop of banana pudding custard for the perfect dinner combination.
