On recommendation from a food tour guide, my friends and I tried out Grace & Grit. We had the Grit Flight (Pimento Cheese, Brussels Pesto, Blueberry, Carrot Cake), Fried Green Tomatoes, a salad, Local Shrimp N Grits, Bourbon Maple Bacon Grits, Brie Grits, and the Smoked Gouda Grits. Can you tell we were there to try the grits? :) Let me preface with 3 of the 6 people grew up in the Deep South and our standards are high with southern food. The only item we didn't like was the Fried Green Tomatoes. The pieces were too thick and very hard. The breading was also different but didn't taste bad. The Cast Iron Pimento Cheese & Green Tomato Bacon Jam that came with it was good. As for the rest of the food it was delicious! We had already had some grits from another restaurant and these were much better! Right consistency, thickness and flavor. The owner & head chef came to our table and explained how the name came to be and the design/ atmosphere of the restaurant. Both had deep local roots in the community and I would definitely go back to eat again!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a fantastic seafood restaurant that left a lasting impression on me. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with outstanding service that truly exceeded my expectations. The manager of the restaurant was not only attentive but also a great guy who made sure that every guest felt welcome and taken care of. His dedication to ensuring a memorable dining experience for everyone was truly commendable. The hostesses at the restaurant were incredibly personable, making me feel like a valued guest from the very beginning. Their warm and friendly demeanor added a personal touch to the overall dining experience. One aspect that really stood out to me was the energy and vibes of the place. A lively and vibrant atmosphere filled the air, creating an enjoyable ambiance that enhanced my dining experience. It was clear that the staff took pride in their work, reflecting in the positive energy throughout the restaurant. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the seafood. This restaurant specializes in seafood, and I must say, they truly excel in this domain. The variety of fresh seafood options available was impressive, and each dish I tried was cooked to perfection. The flavors were exquisite, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. Overall, I highly recommend this seafood restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. The outstanding service, friendly manager, personable hostesses, and amazing seafood make it a must-visit destination. So, if you're craving some delicious seafood in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to be! Thank you Scott Taylor and the other nice lady!!!!

Great food and service in the Mt. Pleasant area. Our waitress was wonderful. Definitely try the grits sampler called Grit Flight. You will be pleasantly surprised. The blueberry grits were my favorite šŸ˜ The red snapper with the honey Dijon glaze was delicious, as was the flounder Rockefeller style. The collard greens were also very tasty. You have to try the shrimp and pimento hush puppies!!!!! I will definitely visit here again, next time I'm in Charleston.

We had a private event at Grace and Grit and it was amazing! The team was in constant communication for the weeks leading up to the event to ensure that it was perfect. The food, drinks, and atmosphere was great. Everyone had a fantastic time. The whole team at Grace and Grit, especially Eli, took great care of us and made the event one to remember. I cannot recommend them enough!

Amazing seafood and great grits. The specials are always phenomenal (the scallops are my favorite) and the appetizers are good too. I had goat cheese grits here and now I make them at home all the time. Obviously thereā€™s are better.

Solid food at the Grit Lunch Counter. Would love to come back for dinner sometime. Portions were really big for both my husband and I. Granted, it was humid, and so that dampens my appetite, but I did wish we wouldā€™ve split a bowl since we couldnā€™t take leftovers with us. Kids meal was great for my son and he seemed to really enjoy it! Was definitely a little pricier than I would normally pay for lunch.

We saw lots of good reviews and decided to try this place for our last night at Charleston before we headed back home. We arrived during weekend 6:40pm and without reservation, but we were able to get seated with some high chairs near the bar without waiting. We ordered the Dockside Mocktaili, seafood purloo, wedge salad and Chef creation with Salmon in Rockefeller style (blackened style with fried oyster and traditional spinach grits) The service is great and our server Karly has a good personality and made recommendations for us for our first time visit. The food are so delicious: - The Wedge salad has bacon pieces taste perfectly - The seafood purloo has a huge seared scallop which tastes amazing. It has lots of seafood and sausage as well - The salmon is juicy and blackened perfectly. The fried oyster are delicious and the grit with spinach are just perfect - the Mocktaili is refreshing and if you want to skip the alcohol, this will be your order This is a must try restaurant of you are in Mount Pleasant and Charleston area. Will definitely visit again to try other food and the grit flight.

The food was awesome! We ordered a grits flight. They were blueberry, apricot dreamcicle, Brussels pesto, and pimento cheese. All of them were delicious. I had blackened scallops with blueberry jam, creamy corn and smoked bacon grits. The mixture of the scallops and jam was amazing! My wife had the shrimp and grits with the smoked Gouda grits and it was delicious too. Our waitress Andria was wonderful too and was so nice.

The food is AMAZING!!! Michael is AMAZING and so are his drinks!!! EVERYTHING was AMAZING!!! That pork chop was as tender and as tasty as it gets. The fish toast was delicious (forgot to take the pic)! I can't even explain the explosion of flavors that you experience in your mouth and same with those pimento hush puppies. I'm from New Orleans and I LOOOVE grits. I grew up eating grits so I was a bit skeptical about theirs. They did NOT disappoint!!! My only complaint is that I'm here for work and leaving on Saturday night. šŸ˜ I WILL be back before I leave.

We had such a wonderful evening at Grace and Grits. Thank you Frank and Eli, our wait staff, Mallory, Chef Jake and Paul. We had so much fun at the chefs table watching the magic in the kitchen. Tom loved the beef rib and every bite of it. My boiled peanut succotash with scallops always delights me. Thank you for the special evening and making us feel as part of the family.

Wonderful food, fast and pleasant service. We shared the grits flight and each had an entree: fried chicken, pork chop and one of the chef selections. Fried chicken was crispy and juicy! Pork chop was so well flavored, and the waiter had great suggestions when navigating the chef selections. Itā€™s our first time visiting Charleston and really enjoyed this dinner! Great ambience and overall worth every penny

So I thought this was the Grit Counter but it seems to have a different name here. Either way it was great! We got there just as they opened and the gentleman behind the counter was super helpful and friendly. We went with shrimp and grits as well as a build your own bowl with fried green tomatoes. Both were excellent. The pimento cheese hushpuppies were so tasty. And they came in handy with keeping our puppy hushed out on their dog friendly patio. Wines by the glass and mimosa flights were also available but we passed this time. Plenty of vegetarian options but be warned, the butter beans seemed to have bacon in them. Parking is shared with a hotel so there was lots of spaces.

Grace and Grits are true to their name. The servers are very graceful, and you have so many wonderful choices of grits. Delectable!!! The young man who waited on us probably had more patience than Job in the bible. At least he knows that it wasn't everyone at the table who was difficult to please, food wise. I enjoyed the atmosphere as well. Thank you, Grace and Grits, for a delightful brunch. šŸ˜‹
