The gentleman working the counter was helpful, knowledgeable and willing to make any coffee drink I wanted iced or hot.
The coffee is strong and actually tastes like the ingredients I ordered, pure. Owners are friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is relaxed. Love this place!

12/1/23 I went in with my 15 month old toddler, who is usually not a fuss to run errands with- but this specific morning it was THE DAY he decided to act like a toddler. He only wanted to play outside and didn’t give me a lot of room to order. I don’t know who served me- but THANK YOU SO MUCH. Gracious and so helpful. Cannot thank you enough- and the coffee was amazing to boot!!
The owner was very friendly and pleasant to chat with. Came here to work on my laptop and was glad to find plenty of outlets and fast wifi! Creative specialty lattes at reasonable prices. I picked up a rewards card and intend to be back.
This place is a MUST if you are looking for delicious coffee at incredibly reasonable prices too. The music is really relaxing, the owner is really kind and you HAVE to try the specialty flavors. This is the best coffee I have had during my entire vacation. I wish I lived here just so that this could be my everyday coffee place. If you are looking for a quick tasty pick me up, you have to stop here. Plus there is a cute bookstore next door.
I went to this place on accident, but I’m sure glad I did. The owner was kind and really helpful. We talked for about where we were from and what got him started in the coffee business. Then he gave me a recommendation for a place to get a breakfast sandwich.

I'm a bit of an insufferable, yet charming, coffee snob. That said, I love the coffee! Roasted in house, the coffee tastes fresh, and the barista knows how to not burn the shots! The understated, casual, and comfortable space lends itself to visiting or studying. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. When in Charleston, I will always stop by!
I’ve only been here twice and both times have been great. But more importantly, I firmly believe the man who runs it is just the nicest dude. Like he would go out of his way to help someone if their tire went flat in the parking lot. He just gives me those vibes. When you walk in the shop, gonna be treated like family.
I go to get my nails done a few shops down from Cooper River and yesterday I saw him running with a smile on his face to hand a busy nail tech his coffee at the nail salon when the nail tech couldn’t pick it up himself. This is a man with a humble heart running a business the tway it should be run. I will always support that.
Oh, and the coffee is great!
Update: Started buying my beans here. Freshest beans I’ve come across in the Charleston area. And I’ve bought a lot of beans around Charleston. Always roasted in house and the prices are really affordable.
Cooper River Coffee is the best coffee shop in Mount Pleasant. The flavor of the in-house roast is much higher quality than all other shops I tried locally and even Starbucks. I had the pleasure of stopping there each morning for the past two weeks, and I can't tell you that I was completely satisfied each time. Super friendly gentleman in there when I visited. Had good suggestions when I said I was looking for light or medium roast beans. The coffee was great and the chai latte I got while I was there was pretty good too. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a local roaster.
Traveling from VA and stumbled across this awesome coffee place. Tucked back in a little shopping center it is easy to miss but don't - one of the best/smoothest cups of coffee I've had. Owner seems to know everyone coming in and keeps good tunes spinning. Good wifi and plugs for those that need them.
Lovely little roasting shop. Tried the french roast and a poppy seed muffin (they just had muffins and biscotti today). Just wonderful. Staff was so nice and friendly. She grinded enough coffee for my weekend stay and I took the rest of the pound of whole beans home. Excited to taste Ethiopia: light roast with hints of citrus and blueberry.
Loved this quaint coffee shop! The owner is very kind and attentive. The prices cannot be beat! A wide variety of roasted beans to take home. I will definitely be back to get my espresso beans here and for my coffee as well!

I travel the southeast for work constantly & my favorite thing to do on work trips is to try to find the best coffee in each state. Well, this spot is in the running for SC. Amazing coffee & great, friendly service all in a very cool & comfy spot. Definitely recommend!
