I never write reviews but I was so impressed here I am...First visit here and I will definitely be back! Clean, fairly priced and delicious food. 4 stars for atmosphere solely based on the fabuloso fragrance that was way too strong for my sensitive system. My veggie fajita lunch was divine and a fairly "clean" and unadulterated version, lots of different veggies which I loved! Excellent chips and salsa! Will go back to report back about the margaritas as I'm certain that would have elevated my experience! Thankful for a yummy Mexican option in Mt P!!!

Giving a 4 star because we were seated at a dirty table and did not see a server for 8-10 minutes. After we were greeted everything went smoothly. Our drinks were spot on. The food was delish. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Nice atmosphere. There is plenty of parking and prices were decent.

This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in mount pleasant! It’s usually pretty busy, but they seat us fairly quickly (they have large indoor and outdoor seating). The waitstaff is friendly and the restaurant is always very clean. The food never disappoints! We ordered the chicken fajitas and deluxe burritos - there was so much food we had to box up the leftovers! I ordered the house made corn tortillas with my fajitas and they were incredible - this place never disappoints! Highly recommend!

Photo doesn’t do justice (especially cause we ordered takeout). This chicken burrito was once of the best burritos I’ve ever had. And what a serving.

Came here with the family for lunch and was very satisfied with the outcome of this restaurant! The service was good and the food was very tasty & flavorful! I got the lunch carne asada and my brother got the avocado chicken wrap which we were both delighted with! I also recommend the drinks from here!🍹they’re very good and refreshing! We ate at the patio which is also pet friendly!Definitely recommend if you’re around the area or come after beach! Very good dessert too!

For Mexican, San Miguel is one of the best. It's your standard Mex-Americana style of food, but it's done superbly. I had the chimichangas and they were amazing. They were fried to perfection which is something not a lot of restaurants are good at. The decor and ambiance was pleasant, very much an upscale bar feel. I wouldn't feel out of place bringing a family here. The staff was very quick and very attentive to what we needed. It was a great experience and great food and there's not much more you can ask for.

Wonderful food quality + service. Endless fresh + warm chips with salsa. Was impressed with the large portion of ceviche.

When you need an authentic Mexican fix not too many places do well, but San Miguel is spot on. The chips and salsas (free) are yummy, onion and cilantro ratio wasn't bad, but Def was a mild salsa. I like spicy but when it's free chips n salsa.. a salsa loving girl isn't too choosy. I had the Carne Asada, and my husband had the Chorizo Con Pollo. My steak was a nice, thin cut and not overcooked. Loved the whole jalapeño on the side, jazzed up my dish flavor I did have a bit of food envy with my husband's dish, which I had a bite, and the sauce and chorizo ration was perfect I ordered horchata, and it had refills It was authentic creamy and cinnamon-ey. Service was ok. I had to flag our server down for water refills and our check, but oh well, it could have been worse. I am already contemplating what my next order will be when we come again. 🤔

Food was super yummy. Had the carnitas w/ rice and beans. Portion was actually bigger in person than on their website. So tender and flavorful! Ask for their super hot salsa, its amazing! Also had a drink, can't remember the name, but it was Tequila, lime, and pineapple. Also very tasty. Only complaint is being kicked out at closing. There were several other parties that weren't asked to leave, but my server stood there until I left. Total buzzkill, but I still enjoyed the food, so would absolutely recommend!

Enjoyable food in a very nice atmosphere. The ding on the star rating is that I absolutely HATE the taste of cilantro, as do a good number of people, and I want restaurants to list on their menu items when cilantro is used, and if cilantro is not listed on a menu item to LEAVE IT OFF! I make my choices based on whether cilantro is listed or not, and I really hate it when cilantro is added to plates when it is not listed on the menu. I'm forced to either send it back or try to pick it off (and yes I do tell the wait staff that I do not want cilantro).

Second time here and still a great experience. Outstanding food. Street Tacos were off the charts (6/5) - recommend Al pastor - 3/3 taco clients recommended. Skinny margs are on point. San Miguel bowl was great. Service is tops. Grateful for this restaurant in Mount Pleasant.

Service was great. Everything arrived quickly and the servers were pleasant and very good at their job. The food was absolutely amazing. The menu is also very extensive and different from other Mexican cuisines with ingredients used. Would definitely recommend..

This was our first time visiting and we will definitely be coming back! SERVICE: The service was AMAZING--friendly, impossibly fast, and checking on us constantly (not just "our" server, but all of them: bringing refills, clearing plates, asking how it was and if we needed anything, etc). Our fajitas were missing an important ingredient, which was brought out immediately when we notified our server. FOOD: The food was delicious, fresh, and served in large quantities. We started with queso, which was fantastic, and street corn, which although not my favorite variety of corn on the cob (large kernals), had great flavor--very heavy on the lime, which we loved. My husband and I each ordered a dinner entree: single-serving fajitas tropicales and cazuelon, and we ended up taking 95% of the fajitas home for leftovers as the cazuelon was big enough for us and our toddler to share and be fully satisfied. We felt that the cazuelon could've had more seasoning/flavor, but the ingredients worked well together. We tried a bite of the fajitas for taste and they were perfectly seasoned. We wanted to keep enjoying them but were too full. But yay for leftovers! MENU: This menu had small print front and back, so TONS of choices. There's something for everyone, including vegetarian and lighter fare options, and everything from the expected TexMex offerings to actual traditional Mexican dishes. We were so excited to see nopales on the menu in several dishes, as it's one of our favorites and not every Mexican restaurant has them. The drink menu looked unique and tasty; I look forward to coming back when I'm not pregnant to try them. I'd recommend San Miguel to anyone who is a fan of traditional Mexican/TexMex food but wants to try a new place!

My friend and I came here to eat for dinner while visiting Charleston for a few days. We sat outside with how nice the weather was. Our waiter was welcoming and polite. I got the cucumber and mint cocktail, which was refreshing and cooling in the SC heat. I ended up getting the mexican street tacos with pollo asado. They were filling and the chicken tasted superb. Only thing that knocked it down to 4 stars was that my drink came out about 15 minutes after i ordered it and I was close to being done with my meal.

Fantastic Mexican joint. Food was both plentiful and delicious. I couldn't decide what to take a bite of next as all the food was incredible. My whole family loved their meals. Not only were the portions generous, the food hot, and the taste impeccable; but menu was extensive (even for a vegetarian); the beer was cold and filled to the brim; the atmosphere (indoor AND outdoor) was cool and comfortable; and the wait staff was outgoing, friendly, and all were checking in on you, not just your table's waiter or waitress. All in all we left with several take away boxes and decided unanimously that we could come back every day of the week and try everything on their menu. Salsa was delicious, they had great house hot sauce, and the service was outshone only by the food. Why are you even still reading this? Just go there! Edit: Just went again. Got the same meal because it was so good last time. Happy to report it's still amazing.

Good food and fun atmosphere. Service was unimpressive but we did have a large group (about 10). I had the taster combo but I didn't enjoy it much. Not sure I'd return...

Good food and delicious dessert. We got the ice cream churros! The service was not great. They don’t seem happy to serve people. We just got handed our food and then they walked away. We were pleased with the food and the prices. The reviews about their service made me worried but it wasn’t too bad. Overall a good dinner experience.
