To date (Dec 2023), I think this is the best pizza I've ever had--the plain round pie, that is. It is so incredibly thin and crispy, almost transparent, but still has plenty of body. The edges are charred just right. However, it is a bit dry and flour-y as you get near the crust, so next time I think we'll order a side of sauce for dipping. Fantastic pizza, reminds me of some tavern style pizzas I've had around the north Jersey area.
The salads were also fresh, and the Italian bread was still warm and crispy from the oven.
I'll come back here many times.
This place was highly reccomended. It would be nice if they had a one person size pizza since I was solo, but I get the not serving slices. The pizza was good, but it may have been just a little to crispy and crunchy for me, I like a little chew to my crust. I'd eat it again but would probably get a plain cheese pie. It might get a little less oven time
this pizza is so good I’m visiting from out of state and I wanted to try some pizza and I was kind of weary because the last time I had pizza in New York. It wasn’t all that good but this is so good especially when i addedred pepper flakes, Parmesan, oregano and black pepper (don’t mind me im extra lol) but even before all those additions it was still tasty. atmosphere was nice and clean all of the employees including the lady that took my order were very nice. I will definitely be back before I leave! btw looks much better than the picture.
Johnny's Pizzeria is a classic Top 3 New York-style pizzeria that has been serving up delicious pizza for over 70 years. The thin crust is crispy, the sauce is tangy and flavorful, and the cheese is melted to perfection. The service is friendly like everyone knows everyone.
I ordered a large pie with half sausage and half anchovies, and it was absolutely delicious. The sausage was perfectly cooked and the anchovies added a nice salty flavor. I washed it down with a cold beer, and it was the perfect meal.
Overall, I had an amazing experience at Johnny's Pizzeria. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was fun and casual. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great pizza experience.
If you are a pizza lover, then Johnny's is a must place to visit. It's among the best pizza I've ever had. It's thin crust pizza that is very crunchy with the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese. We ordered a regular cheese pizza and a pepperoni pizza. The pepperoni, in particular, was very tasty. We also started with a salad and fried ravioli which were both very good. Service was very friendly. Complimentary valet parking.

Amazing pizza! They are up there with the big boys (the pizza masters). The sauce on the pizza is really tasty! My favorite is the pepperoni pizza! Why? Because the flavor of the pepperoni kicks you in the mouth. It is sooo good! I would come back here again. Also amazing people who is working there. They display their family business photos and it is beautiful that they are continuing the business.
My mom and I are visiting NY from Ohio and decided to try Johnny’s for dinner. We absolutely LOVED everything about it. The staff was so warm and inviting. Everyone was very kind even with how busy they were. We had the fried ravioli, chicken Caesar salad, stuffed rigatoni Alfredo, pizza and meatballs. They had 3 guys working the pizza oven. One tossing the dough, one topping the dough and another cooking the pizza. The rigatoni tasted like homemade noodles and the Alfredo sauce was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I really felt like I was having dinner at my Italian grandmother’s house!
Great amount of parking. Waitresses were very kind & friendly. Pizza was delicious. It was probably the best thin crust pizza I've ever had. I highly recommend it.
Crust is thin and crispy. Sauce is sweet and tangy. The cheese is just right. They put the sauce over the cheese to keep the dough from getting soggy. All this leads to the best pizza I have come across so far.
They don't do slices, whole pies only. This is so you get the freshest slice of pizza possible. Wait a minute or two before digging in because the pizza will burn the roof of your mouth. I've done it many times.
Make sure you bring cash or an debit card for the ATM machine.
Try the extra cheese pie as well. My friends and I usually get a regular and an extra cheese. It's the best of both worlds.
So I am going to start with atmosphere. Five stars is for authenticity, not sophistication. This is an OG pizzeria and restaurant. Second is the service. We were warmly greeted when we walked in and like family were saluted when we left. In between the service was friendly and fast. As for the pizza, this is pretty unique NY style pizza. Crispy thin crust that borders on being a cracker. Sauce us tangy and spicey. The amount of cheese is perfect. If you like cheesy pizza, order extra cheese but if you are a pie lover, the way they make is perfect. We had both an anchovy pie and a pepperoni pie. Both were great. I will be back
