This place is so much fun - amazing food, wonderful service, fantastic music, and just a good time had by all. Great for families, too. My kids love their food and they like that it is something different. The staff are so nice but especially the waitresses and bartenders - perfect amount of hands-on service when you need it and will help you through the menu for those that are novices of Cajun and Southern Cuisine. And then the music comes on!! Always something good, sometimes for no cover. I have seen some of the biggest in the business there - from Zydeco to just good ol' Rock 'n Roll! Let the good times roll! Thanks to Pete and his staff.

Last night, October 7, 2017 we had dinner at the Bayou.
We have been going to the Bayou for over 22 years and have never been disappointed. The owner Pete along with his staff are always professional and friendly. We have introduced a lot of friends to the Bayou and everyone always enjoys it.

We absolutely loved the gumbo and the mudbug pot was awesome! We had fun tasting the sauces! Next time it’s Gator!
Darn Good Eats! Great food, people, atmosphere and music. Fried pickles, Crawfish, Gumbo, Voodoo Wings and Blackened Chicken Po-Boys all day. Love this place.
I enjoyed every bite. The food just bursted with flavor. It's a must do again and again.
I love the Bayou. I've been coming here for over 20 years. I've never had a bad experience, the food, the drinks are always top notch. Last night was the first time I came for Taco Tuesdays and I wasn't disappointed. Can't go wrong with the Bayou.
Went for an early dinner with my wife. The food is delicious and the portions were enormous. A definite go-to spot when wanting a great dinner in the neighborhood.
Always a great time at the Bayou! Love the staff there and the food is always satisfying.
OMG! Real good food... Excellent service and staff.... I love, love, Love the Mudbugs...
I’ve been coming to the Bayou since I was a teenager (not to date myself but yeah) and it is always a pleasure to be in the space. The atmosphere, music, staff, and energy is always a delight. The food is always a hit and who doesn’t love their voodoo wings and green bomb?! Great atmosphere for date night or family night. And there are vegetarian options.
I’ll def. be coming back here again. I went last Friday and it happened to be karaoke night. Had a great time. Upon first entrance , I was a bit turned away only because it took a little bit for someone to take my order or staff to acknowledge me, even though there weren’t much customers inside. When I chose a place to sit , I felt as though my waiter was more cleaning other tables than taking my order. However , past that , the night was a blast. I ended up getting the meat loaf which was a sizable portion for its price. The drinks don’t cost too too much and they do their thing. The appetizer , crab Rangoon I think it was called was also really good. The only downside of the food is , the cornbread was extremely dry. The place is intimate and the event thrown made it worthwhile. I’ll be back on another Friday lol.
My experience at the Bayou restaurant! The meal was nothing short of fantastic, as it always has been for years . We started off with the jalapeño poppers wow those spicy treats are not to be missed. The meatloaf, in particular is my favorite with its incredible taste. My wife's choice of the Marinated skirt steak salad was equally delightful.
It is a fun atmosphere that adds to the overall dining experience. we didn’t get it this time but there build your own mac & cheese menu is incredible , The Bayou truly delivers on all fronts, from delicious dishes to a lively ambiance. And live music on a lot of weekends. We can't wait to return for another fantastic meal!
My coworker told me about this place I came with my husband we had Buffalo wings and a few drinks they had many different varieties of beers the martinis were so good and strong the service was also great I love the music and the decor is great as well I have always wanted to go to New Orleans and this definitely gave me a push to want to go in real life I enjoyed my experience
Seasoned, flavorful, and my mouth is watering again. The food was so good I forgot to take photos. I had the frog legs, crawfish empanadas, fried pickles, the jambalaya, and swamp cocktail.
Fantastic food, service and restaurant. We went here on a recommendation and wow! I got the chicken fried steak and it came with eggs, Cajun home fries and the best paired fruit ever. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning!
The service was excellent! I suggested The Bayou to my friend (I hadn't seen in 40+ years) for drinks. We shared the Catfish platter, which is what you choose when people say they don't want anything to eat. When that golden fish (2pcs), mashed potatoes , gravy, house salad & cornbread came out, my friend just had to try it. Beautiful presentation & delicious taste!
We enjoyed it, went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't so crowded. Street parking was hard to come by. Server was nice but food did take a rather long time it felt like. I ordered the blackened chicken Po boy and it tasted great. I also shared the customized Mac and cheese with broccoli and jalapenos which was pretty tasty as well. Overall, I would recommend and would definitely go back
What a fantastic spot if you’re craving for some Cajun & Southern style cuisines. Good vibes y’all….
I had the best Buffalo Wings here (and after that was the Signature Voodoo wings and Pineapple wings)….All of them lit-like-crazy! The southern fried chicken meal is awesome too!
Lastly some tasty IPA to wash it down real good. All in all, this is like my go to spot for most of my 2 weeks stay here in Mt Vernon.
I wanna give a shout out to JAYSON (waiter) for being such a great one. Hope to see ya soon buddy! Thanks for everything.
And to everyone who’s reading this, please make a visit to The Bayou.
Cheers! - God Bless
I've been dining here for many years. I have always enjoyed the food with my family and friends. The service is always on point. Nice people home town vibe live music on the weekends. I travel from Long Island specifically just to eat here and travel right back that's how we feel about the food, drinks, service, and all around hospitality. This time we went for Sunday brunch and it didn't disappoint. I'll post some photos. We ordered chicken and waffles, chocolate chip pancakes, Buffalo wings, voodoo wings corn bread, collard greens, and of course the pot of mudbugs ( crayfish) enjoy. I know we did 😋
