This place has the best frozen custard and unique sundae options. Peanut butter and jelly sundae and hot fudge with peanut butter sauce are our favorites!

It’s good! But it’s not Leon’s in Milwaukee!!! More nuts and fruit in your flavors would be killer!! Best custard around here!!!!

I love this place! It's very retro-looking -- straight out of the 1950s. But the main attraction is (of course) the frozen custard. It's made right there, and in addition to the basic chocolate & vanilla options, every day of the month has its own featured flavor. We were there most recently for "espresso coffee" flavor, which was divine. There are a lot of concoctions to be made with the frozen custard: plain cones, sundaes, milkshakes, etc., so you don't ever have to have the same thing twice if you don't want to! My husband & I live about 10 miles away, but stop there for dessert any time we're in this area. Highly recommended!

It was my first time there and I loved it! My husband grew up going here so it was sweet that he brought me. Loved the frozen custard but the small town classic shop is the best part. Staff was super friendly and very fast! Great job!

Thank you Gregs Frozen Custard for being gluten free and having gluten free cones. You made my 8 year old daughter's night.

A treasure of the northern suburbs. Greg’s Frozen Custard has some of the best quality desserts in a fun atmosphere. They have your standard chocolate and vanilla flavors as well as daily specials. There’s a large selection of sundaes and toppings that there’s definitely something for everyone. Greg’s does not have indoor dining, there’s a walk up window and plenty of covered picnic tables and a few benches alongside the building. The entire place has a 1950s retro aesthetic and they’re often playing music from that era as well. The entire package is comforting and something to look forward to. My go to sundae is the dusty road, which is vanilla custard with hot fudge topped with malt powder and a cherry. You can’t go wrong with the Elvis or the Fluffernutter as well. They have a selections of shakes and malts that always hit the spot as well like the dreamsicle or lucky charms shake. You can get treats like a banana split which is massive and with fresh toppings. You can typically get a calendar of their monthly flavors on social media so you can plan out any special flavors. It’s worth checking out so you don’t miss anything that piques your interest.

Greg’s frozen custard is ranked #6 out of the 10 best places for frozen custard in America. every day of the season that they are open it’s packed with customers, although the turnaround time to get your order is Quick, any weight you may have is absolutely worth it. all their items are affordably priced and the custard is super creamy and immaculate quality.

I loved the feel of this spot! Seemed very retro! We went on a hot humid day and our desserts hit the spot! It was so delicious, I went with the turtle split which had a great blend of flavors. I personally liked the Chocolate cover Strawberry Sundae even more! It was both refreshing and sweet! Prices are fair from what you’d expect from a ice cream parlor like this. A must visit on a hot summer day!

Great custard, outdoor benches, and a 50’s feel. An antique truck pulling up as we ate made this picture possible - in 2023, not 1953!

The line was kind of long but there was a bubble art performer nearby that kept the kids entertained during the wait. That custard melting but not much faster than we could chow it down. Delicious as advertised! Definitely worth the wait!

We have driven past Greg's hundreds of times going to, and coming home from my parent's house, but never stopped. Well, tonight we did, and I am SOOO glad we did! The custard was amazing! I had a raspberry sundae with whipped cream DELISH! Hubby had a shake, and our son had a chocolate chip sundae. The girls were so sweet and friendly! Will DEFINITELY be stopping again, and again!

We come here every summer to have our icecream fix! All the flavors we have tried are good. They have dairy free options( Italian ice as well as Dole whip (?)- 4 flavors which helps us since our daughter has an allergy. Finding a place that has options is greatly appreciated!

Good old Greg did not disappoint. I tried all top Frozen Custard shops in MI, IL, WI and MO. Now, good news is Greg is selling real frozen custard. Many shops sell soft serve or frozen yogurt under the name of frozen custard. There are three tests to a good frozen custard. Test 1. The machinery. If you are getting your custard from a device like a beverage fountain where they hold the cup underneath and fill. You are not getting frozen custard my friends! Test 2. The spoon. If the frozen custard is served with filmsy a** soft spoon that easily bends, that is not a custard you are spooning. Test 3. The texture! The most important test. Now spoon your custard and look into your cup, if the spot you just scooped has sandy looks then that is a low quality custard. If that scooped area is silky smooth and flat as the surface of a quartz countertop then this is good news! these guys are using some egg yolks in their recipee to make real frozen custard. Greg's custard passed all three tests. It is definitely not as good as Kopp's Frozen Custard in WI but so far the best in IL that I found. Good job Greg.

Came to Greg’s Frozen Custard and tried Pina Colada Sundae, Pineapple Dole Whip and Strawberry Dole Whip. All are delicious especially Pina Colada Sundae. Pina Colada Sundae is the best sundae. Staff is friendly and space is clean.
