Had a great time with my partner there. Came in on a Friday evening to sit at the bar and have a couple drinks with appetizers. All of the people there were so friendly, it's got a real neighborhood bar kind of feel, it's very welcoming. Their egg rolls are as good as they say, and the pork fried rice was great. The drinks were tasty. Service was fast and so very pleasant, Doreen was amazing. I will definitely be back! :)
Ma Pa Tofu with pork was the best we’ve tasted. Our host mentioned that it was made with traditional bean sauce. It was indeed, and fantastic. The Emerald Shrimp was a splurge! Lightly buttered/fried with fresh braised broccoli and a rich white sauce (mayo and tasty flavorings!!) As others mentioned the egg rolls are a meal in themselves. BBQ meat, shrimp and a blend of amazing veggies and seasonings. A fun new place to visit and patronize. Off the beaten path so we need to keep promoting it!
Everything was fantastic. Staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. When my children didn’t like the pan fried noodles, they offered to replace them without us even asking for that. When the owner heard my son say he wanted his sister to share a cherry that came with her drink, she brought extra cherries for all the kids. That kind of hospitality is not often seen these days. The food was also excellent, and the chocolate fortune cookies were a unique touch. Thank you for a wonderful first dining experience!
Really enjoyed this evening with my family. The main room is really well lit, chairs were really comfy and the round tables were a great size for the 4 of us. Staff was really friendly. Had a great at waitress and met the owners, John and Doreen.
Drinks were great but let's get to the food...
Best egg roll I've ever had. Great flavor, massive, and has this peanut butter addition that is perfectly balanced.
Never have liked tofu before this place. I'd highly recommend their tofu and will try all their renditions in the near future.
The soy ginger fish was absolutely out of this world. Very tender and it was just a sponge of flavor with these delicious black beans on top.
Also, they make their sauces in house. Their hot mustard was hands down the best I've tried. I ate a bowl to myself pretty much.
The sweet and sour and hot chilli oil were special as well.
We got the bill and was even pleasantly surprised with the price. We all thought it'd be higher.
Overall one of the better experiences I've had at a restaurant.
Gave up on finding good Cantonese until my sister told me about this place. So glad I listened to her raves rather than the person who ordered ummm chicken nuggets!?!? The egg rolls are the best I’ve ever had & they are huge! Delish (& generous portion) of egg foo young with combo chicken, beef, shrimp. Their hot & sour soup is to die for (& is included in all entrees - nice touch). Will definitely be back.
Everything was delicious. Giant portions, very friendly staff, and yummy drinks. Appreciate everything and will definitely come back!
This place is underrated! The food is the best Chinese food in the area. Quality of meat is excellent, perfectly light and crispy rolls and wonton wraps, lightly salted main dishes (you can add more salt if you like…most places over salt) and a variety of adult drinks. If you haven’t made this your place for Chinese food, you’re missing out!
Great Asian restaurant, dine in or carry out. We had 8 in our party and the service was attentive and prompt in all cases. The good was delicious and plentiful!
I will return!
Update, STILL great food and service! The egg rolls and savory shrimp are amazing!
Some of the very best egg rolls in lake county!! Great service and really nice happy hour food specials. Also if you're a barfly, they have one of the nicest bars in the area
Next day eating the "doggie bag left overs" and thinking about our dining visits over the past 35 years at this establisment... I've changed, the restaurant and the patrons have changed, lol the prices have changed...but one thing, and maybe most importantly- that hasn't changed is the quality of the food served at this longtime family owned American style Cantonese restaurant. So many memories come back to me as I finish off my leftovers in the cardboard container- Thanks Royal Cantonese for still being there and serving QUALITY- I'm going to visit more often for so many reasons...but most of all because of that consistent quality!!! Not the cheapest but for sure the best-
Very friendly Chinese restaurant I ever been in. Hostess call you by name and service was top notch. I ordered the fried chicken and wonton soup noodle. Both was excellent so I will come back again
We have been ordering out or eating in for
Years. Never disappointed. Owners work
Hard and are so friendly! They always remember we our names and our family!!
What a great experience! I was greeted by owners Doreen and John (husband/wife team) with great energy. Sat down and ordered with Ryan who put on the soccer game for me. I started with a nice egg drop soup and yummy specialty egg roll with pork shrimp and peanut sauce, it was delicious!! Then I ordered the beef and broccoli dish (that Ryan suggested as his favorite) the dish came piled high and the flavors were excellent. Sometimes getting beef and restaurants is a 50/50 choice. But I am glad I ordered it here and very satisfied with the overall experience and flavors. Happy tummy ;) happy to support this second generation family business. I wish blessings on this place. Thank you
A high END CHİNESE Restaurant and BEST Mongolian Beef I have ever eaten. Our server Brandon was awesome!
Doreen makes you feel like family! The Hot n Sour soup 🍲, sweet n sour chicken and shrimp and Happy Family's perfect!!!
The staff could not be any friendlier!! Very happy after my first visit. The egg rolls are something special!!!
A little disheartening when I ordered the large sizes and the containers were not full. Expensive for their portions.
In terms of quality, the food was good. They have authentic Chinese, not only Chinese American, which is difficult to find. Noodles were properly fried. Meat was tender. They had fish filet dishes too. Dishes didn't have too much "filler" with large veggies (like bok choi). My only complaint was MaPa Tofu, although good, was not the right flavor, it was more Black Bean Garlic seasoned.
We really enjoyed our meal here. The egg rolls live up to the hype - crunchy but not dry, and the filling is generously balanced with meat and vegetables. I had the fish in ginger sauce, which was very good, and my 2 kids enjoyed the curry chicken and empress chicken respectively. And our server was fantastic - friendly and attentive. The owner stopped by and chatted a few times and was also very attentive and helpful, and she seemed like the kind of business owner who likes to get to know her customers.
