Got the chop baker. It was nice size and very good. I ate there two days in a row. First day I got sliced beef brisket and the burnt ends on the meat were amazing.
Chopped baker, chopped beef sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, and club sandwich all to go. Everything excellent! Staff awesome as always. (no, I'm not related to anyone here) Trying something new...the chili...but that's for tomorrow. Smells great!

Cowboys Bar-B-Que catered my daughter and son-in-law's wedding reception this past weekend. We had a baked potato bar with chicken, brisket, and all the fixins. It was awesome and the guests loved it. The service was great and they did a good job of setting it up and taking it down. The price was fair and competitive as well. Thank you David, Sue, Katie and the other staff for making their wedding reception a big hit.
Great BBQ, the onion rings are the best!
Loved their sauce. The meat was tender and moist, and had great flavor even without the sauce. The restaurant is really clean and neatly decorated. If your a local, this should be in the rotation of favorites. If you're traveling, stop in for a pleasant meal.
First things first , who makes the pies and cakes? After eating the dinners (pulled pork sandwich) , which tasted too good to be true. I assumed the dessert didn't have a chance being thisssss DELICIOUS! Everything about this place is 5 stars! Recommend to anyone & definitely coming back.
I had not been to Cowboy’s in a long time (10+ years) when I had lunch there back in October 2015. Ian and I had lunch there 19 February. It was pretty good both times. Both times I had a two-meat with ribs and brisket. The first time, both the ribs and the brisket were excellent. The second time, the ribs were a little on the less-than-meaty side, and a little tough, but the brisket was great again. I had sides of baked beans (OK, but bland), and fries (great).
I really loved this place!. Lots of things to choose from, and everything comes in HUGE portions.
Meats had a good bark, thick smoke ring, rich flavor. You know, all the jargon that makes BBQ good. Corn flake coated onion rings were interesting and had a nice crisp to them. Lots of sauces to choose from - all good. Very happy to see the meat doesn't come "presauced." A place even the most finicky BBQ eater can enjoy.
Service was fast and patient as we were snailishly deciding what we wanted to eat.
Well decorated - everything you can image, it's there. Definitely will keep you busy in the short wait for your food.
Oh, and you get to keep your plastic cup...of which I opted for green.
This place is the best!! I've lived in Muskogee my whole life and i've tried all the other BBQ places like Runt's (terrible), Mahylon's (more terrible), and My Place (the worst), and none can even shake a stick at this place! The food is amazing, especially their bakers. Their steaks are always cooked just how i want them and never have to send back like at some places. Burgers and onion rings are the best!! Not to mention the waitresses are very nice! Highly recommended!
Ribeye steak was good. This was my first visit to Cowboy's for dinner. The place looks really big from the outside, but the dinning room is fairly modest in size. The place was clean and festively decorated and lit, but simple and casual. (The table cloths depict cowboys and settlers in circled wagons and Native Americans in war paint, shooting arrows, etc--not very PC in this day and age....) I asked the server what she'd recommend between the ribs and the ribeye steak--she asked how I liked my steak (medium-rare) and she said that's how the cook likes it and I would probably like that best. The salad was very fresh and tasty; the baked potato with all the fixings was great too. The steak was delicious, but had an above average amount of fat. The meal was about $16, not bad for what you get in this age of $30+ steaks.
Great BBQ for many years!. I've lived in Muskogee for 27 years and Cowboy's is around the corner from me on York Street. I love the food. I've also had their catering food many times with no problem.
The person who wrote the "I am offended" review must be an employee who got fired for stealing or something. I've never had bad food there. I'm pretty sure it's a locally owned business where the money stays here in Muskogee, not a chain. Don't you NOT go there because some jerk gets his panties in a wad when his catering coleslaw was watery! The walls are covered with autographed pictures of famous people who ate the catering and evidently didn't complain. Before you run a restaurant's food down, at least eat at the restaurant!!!!!

Best BBQ in Town!. Absolutely love this place. Everyone in town knows this is the place to go for BBQ and Burgers. There is something about the way the place is decorated and the smell of the smokers when you walk in that just lets you know your in the right place. They have it all covered from Ribs, Brisket and Hot Links all the way to Burgers and Grilled Chicken. I would recommend this place to every person i know to try!
Barbecue how it's supposed to be!. This place wrote the book on barbecue or Bar-B-Q or barbeque. However you want to spell it, they know how to smoke it and cook it so it just falls off the bone right into your mouth. Just typing that on my computer makes me want to get in my truck and head for Muskogee! Nice people, cute decorations and all that, but YUM, YUM, MOUTH WATERING YUM. OK, that's it, heading there now for a rack of their ribs. Maybe a pulled pork sandwich! Pull your boots on, Daddy, Let's go!
KILLER RIBS !!!!!. The ribs at Cowboy's are KILLER! I don't know what they do or how they do it, I just keep coming back for more. Thanks Cowboy's for the best fall off the bone tender ribs in Oklahoma. I like the onion rings and okra too.
When I moved away from Muskogee, Cowboy's was one of the biggest losses, and I have yet to find an acceptable replacement. The service is great, the atmosphere's fun, and the food is amazing! I stop by everytime I have business anywhere nearby.
The BEST !. I've been a Cowboy's customer since 1979. I have been all over the U.S., and in my opinion, nobody makes better barbecue. I especially love their ribs. There is something unique about the way they cook their meat that gives it a lot of flavor. It keeps me coming back.
Yummy. Every time we're in Muskogee we have to stop by Cowboy's for Bar-B-Q and a LARGE serving of Onion Rings! Love the way it's decorated, always something new to look at, and the service is always great.

Food was good. Away from home and this place hit the spot. Red beans and rice - very good. Sweet tea was perfect.
Hadn't been here in a while, glad I was able to stop in. Tried the three meat combo, brisket turkey and links, with fries and beans. Brisket was tender with nice smoke ring, hot link was great, turkey was a little dry, sliced too thin. The service was great, my server checked several times to see if I needed anything. Be sure and ask for pickles onions and peppers.
Incredible BBQ! Great wait staff and quick service. Best onion rings I’ve had in a long time, with flavorful onions (a rarity it seems in far too many onion rings) and not too thick—and perfectly crispy—batter. Portions are generous—the picture is of a small order of onion rings. I’m not in Muskogee very often but Cowboy’s is reason enough to make the trip.
An issue parking our big trailer lead us to this fine establishment. We were pleasantly surprised. My husband was in hog heaven when he had the hot links and brisket with baked beans and onion rings. The brisket was moist, tender and full of flavor but the star of the show was hands down the onion rings! They were so good that we Indian leg wrestled for the last one! 😉 We would absolutely recommend Cowboy's Bar B Q to anyone looking for some great Bar B Q!

I went here based on the recommendation of a local, and I am really glad I went! I ordered the brisket sandwich with fries. Most good brisket you talk about the brisket... this was good brisket, but I was more impressed that they served it on a perfectly buttered and toasted bun. I actually ended up eating the bun separately, I liked it so much. I think good brisket deserves respect and should be served on an equally delicious bun, and this is the first place I have seen actually pull off the full package. I would definitely come here again.
This place is a gem!!! Great food! Welcoming servers❤ went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and more! I'm soo heartbroken that they are about to shut their doors! We had the pulled pork lunch special & sweet tea 😋 3 different sauces on the table with smaller versions for the littles....we are truly sorry to see Cowboys closing.....we wish you the best!
Cowboys catered a surprise party for recent NP Grad. Plenty of space in banquet room. Servers were all working hard keeping drinks and food fresh and available. For a buffet type meal everything was Very Good. Meat tender and tasty.
