The only reason i didnt give 5 stars was because it was expensive to me just like most places in myrtle beach. The food was good and so was the service, but 58.00 for breakfast is high to me. They do give you a gift card at the front desk but that is gone in one sitting. Other than that i loved it!
The ambiance is amazing. The food is a little bit above average - not ground breaking but decent. The staff is amazing - very courteous, polite and respectful. Ask the Skyler!
Great dinner. Very nice ambience - 6pm on a weeknight. Food, drinks were all great and the live music outside really put it over. We had to swat away a lot of flies to be able to eat outside but that feels a bit out of their control.
Food was tasty, with good variety on the menu with staff who were excellent at accommodating those with dietary restrictions (gluten free). The view of the water was spectacular, and the service was amazing, both of which made for a wonderful evening. The somewhat dated decor and a menu that was pretty good, but I felt could have been a bit more special for the price (little things like regular tomatoes in the caprese salad versus something like an heirloom tomato with a bit more flavor, or a generic house salad between courses with only a choice of different vinaigrettes versus having a few salad options with more unique composition) were the only negatives.
This place is extremely good, they cater for all tastes and they do it well.
From a tasty burger from the tiki hut, to small plates by the bar, to fine dining at an exquisite standard, or a really tasty pizza for take away (the dough is great).
Pictured below are the flounder with crab topping followed by a crème brûlée and a keylime pie. The portions are very generous and that was after a tasty salad. Shannon the waitress was bubbly and a joy and she just tempted us into them.
The bar and the Tiki hut are fun and they are staffed by very likable personalities.
Just tell Morgan, John or Alex that I sent you and they will look at you funnily.
They will seriously go out their way to make sure you get what you want and they contributed greatly to our vacation fun.
I took this getaway trip to island vista from Chicago to get away for some piece of mind. I must say I got it thanks to two of the most friendliest bartenders ever. I was kind of down and out but thanks to John and Les they made me feel so much better. Please tell them they made myself and my sister feel so much better a couple of those nights and to keep those great personalities.
The service far surpassed the food. Jamie our waitress was on top of her game but she and Skylar were unable to deliver the required services of all the customers on a busy New Years Eve. I would highly recommend looking at some other options unless you are staying at this resort and don't want to drive?
Husband and I stayed at the Island Vista Resort and visited The Cypress Room twice during our stay; once for dinner and another time for breakfast. Prices are on the higher side but the food was good. Service was great and everyone we came into contact with was very attentive. Just be warned, as of the writing of this review, there is an 18% gratuity that is applied to your bill regardless of party size. Hubby and I were aware of this since it was mentioned on our Hotel information paper, but just want to be sure others visiting are aware as well.
Very good food. The chicken marsala was to die for!! Highly recommend dinner here. Breakfast is good too. Service is top notch.
We only went for Happy Hour, it was a nice environment. There’s a Saxophone player most nights. The dining seems to be a little higher class.

We went had a romantic dinner at The Cypress Room last evening for our anniversary. The view was amazing even at 6pm. Our table was lovely. The guitarist played lovely soft music. The food was absolutely perfect . I had the best shrimp scampi I had had in years. Our waiter ( I neglected to get his name) was personable & very attentive. The bartender Googled our drink request and nailed it. The experience was perfect in every way. It will be our “ Go To “ for a wonderful restaurant experience. We were very happy .
Lights were too bright to set the atmosphere. A bit of soft background music would be a nice touch. Everything else was superb.
Hidden Gem in Myrtle Beach. We had the most amazing dinner here looking out at the ocean. The garden salad which came with our meal was served with homemade dressing on the side. So delicious. We each got the shrimp scampi. Outstanding. Have never eaten such a delicious dish. For dessert we had the berry crisp. Yummy! We loved our server Terry. He was so attentive and truly cared about our dinner, etc. The manager Skylar came over twice to make sure we were taken care of. Such a nice man. You must try this restaurant. You won’t be disappointed. We can’t wait to return for another meal.
Great food and excellent pricing. You get what you pay for a wise man once said. The Cypress burger is hands down the best burger I’ve ever gotten. Alex was super nice and attentive. Was here in 2016,2019,2022,2023!!! It’s still amazing. Will be returning in August 2024. Keep up the great work.
Updated: We went here for breakfast on Friday morning (last week) KEVIN was by far the GREATEST we’ve ever had here at the Cypress Room!!! So friendly & personable! Please see that he sees this & gets the proper accolades he DESERVES! Friendly people in the food service is hard to come by. With Kevin he sets the BAR HIGH!!! Thanks Kevin!
We had an excellent meal at The Cypress Room. We sat on the outside patio which was totally comfortable due to the overhead heaters. The live music and ambiance were beautiful. This was by far our best meal while in Myrtle Beach. Brooks provided perfect service and offered excellent food choices. The Cypress Room is a hidden secret that more should enjoy.
The atmosphere is very calm and posh, and the prices aren’t bad for a nice restaurant on the beach. The service was impeccable. Nice place to come on a date.
