Finished up 18 holes just down the road, and while making our way back, the traffic was deadlocked, so we pulled in to kill some time and grab a bite. Wasn't overly busy at the time. We were sat quickly, and the bartender was over taking our drink orders. It picked up before we left, but the bartender never lacked on our service. The menu is fairly large, with a little of everything. One of us got some smoked wings and said they were the best he had ever had. 2 got burgers, one coming with wings as side. They both said the burgers were good. I got some sushi, which was fine, nothing amazing, but solid. Has a good vibe to the place, especially to watch sports. They had some buffalo oyster bellies I wanted to try, but I filled up on my sushi, so it gives me a reason to come back. They had a good Happy Hour section as well. Everything was spot on 1st experience!

The Grumpy Monk became the brainchild of two local guys in 2015 creating a new concept of restaurant and bar that has now expanded to 3 locations. Full service bar offers locally-made brews and a wide selection of craft beer from around the country. Menu comes in a wide variety of fresh sushi, seafood tray, burgers, handhelds, salads, starters, wraps, wings, dinner entrees and a selective vegan and vegetarian options. Lively large dining room with wood tables and padded chairs, separated bar and a slew of flat screen TVs. My thick Mac Daddy Burger was a juicy, flavorful grilled burger topped with house made mac and strips of Applewood bacon. Creamy mac, smoky crispy bacon nicely enhances the steakhouse burger grilled to perfection. Throw in a side of fries and you are good to go. Savy was our server and he was friendly and efficient.

I picked a random restaurant, and ended up here. The traffic getting here is absolutely horrible, but I thought the visit was worth that wait. My server was wonderful, and I forgot to get his name. I told him what I wanted, and that I was dealing with a couple of new allergies, and he worked with me to make sure I got what I could eat.

We had some issues with our meal which the manager immediately solved. As most places I felt there were struggling with help I can not fall them on that. Our meal was good. My only complaint would be the Crab Dip was more like a crab queso than a crab dip. The Poutine Mountain was delicious.

A MUST GO TO RESTAURANT! Our first time here after passing this place hundreds of times and we had such a great experience that we will be back. Love the decor and the atmosphere was exciting as customers all around seemed so happy and relaxed. Our waiter went out of his way for us, knowing it was our first time. He took his time answering questions and making recommendations. My husband ordered a sushi platter and said it was so delicious he'd come back just for another. My burger was cooked perfectly as requested and fries were not greasy and so crunchy with a dusting of breading. I ate it all! The lady sitting next to us knew we were first timers and was telling us all about different menu choices she loved that we had to try. She seemed so happy to be there also. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

I came during happy hour and I’m so glad I did, you can’t beat the price and the quality. I loved the margarita and the sushi was really good and I was obsessed with the tater tots also lol . Jada was our server and she BEYOND AMAZING she was so nice and helpful. A1 service! I’ll definitely be coming back for more happy hour! We sat outside and it was perfect for this sunny day. (I love outside seating)

Traveling with my boyfriend for his job and we ordered takeout the first night from here and it was good. The reuben could use more sauce but great flavor. The queso that came with the big pretzel was top tier. I went back during happy hour on my own and enjoyed it once again. It’s nice to go to a bar alone and not be scared. The bartenders and hostess were super nice. Sounded like a lot of locals were there. Anyone traveling to the area should stop by

Love the vibe in this place. We just moved here so we have lots of places to try. The name alone made us pick this one, and the menu did not disappoint. The happy hour menu was pretty extensive. Our server, Jan, was attentive and not overbearing at all. Our drinks were always full. The parking lot was full when we got there so we expected to wait and were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately. We always order fried green tomatoes if they have them when we try a new place. We are used to "fancy" fried green tomatoes topped with pimento and tomato jam so when they showed up without all the fan fare, I was skeptical, but they were crispy, delicious, and came with not one, but two dipping sauces... one sweeter and one spicier. They have vegan options and vegetarian as well as all the burgers and wings. We will definitely be going back often to try all the things!!

One of THE BEST IN MB!!!! In town for CCU parents weekend, we spent a FANTASTIC evening at Grumpy Monk. The craft beers were excellent and the selection was vast. The food paired perfectly with the drinks. Our server, Donnie, was one of the best we've encountered. Grumpy Monk quickly became a favorite in the area for us. Can't wait to return. Highly recommended. See pictures!!

Good food, fun menu and lots of drink choices. Our waitress lacked a little on the patio, but it seemed she had too many tables to provide great service. The food came out good either way thanks to the runners.

The hubby and I dined here for the first time last weekend. And let me tell you— this place did not disappoint! The food was delicious and most importantly, the service was amazing. Tia was kind and very attentive to our table. We will definitely come again for another football Sunday!

Food was fantastic and the people behind thr bar were stellar. It's a little loud with the live music but you get used to it. Everything I tried was great and the portions were nice too!

Okay. This place was great. But one thing stopped it from getting 5 stars. Pros: Staff was friendly, food was fresh, delicious and looked just like the picture. Menu has a huge variety of food to choose from for kids and adults, whether you want seafood, American, etc. You get a lot of food for your money. The portion sizes were very big. Cons: Waited almost an hour for our food after we placed our order. The appetizers came after about 20 minutes. The side dishes, including onion rings and tater tots were over cooked, and slightly burnt. But we didn’t complain because the experience was still nice.
