I love me some good southern grits, and any restaurant that has the word “Grits” in its name has to have good grits, and this place does not disappoint. They were perfectly salted and buttered and had clearly been simmering all morning. Yum yum !!! And the coffee is good too. I’ll be back again tomorrow morning. Sitting at the counter, I got to see everything as it came off the grill. It all looked amazing. I could eat breakfast and lunch here every day and be satisfied. The prices are good too. Oh, and the waitresses are all easy on the eyes and are very personable.
What an excellent diner. Stopped in the way back home from Avon. Friendly staff and very quick, but quality service! The omelet was absolutely incredible. Stuffed, not mixed, with bacon, ham and Swiss (create your own)! Biscuit and grits were so good. Stop on your way down or back from the island!
Fun atmosphere attentive employees and good food. I had country fried steak with hashbtowns eggs and toast. My wife had a western omelet that reminded us of enchiladas. Both were very good.
This place has great food! I had a dominant hand injury so ordered the shrimp and grits for easy eating. Wow!, an incredible dish that smothers you in southern flavor.
Excellent breakfast and fast service - Alisha was our waitress and she was super sweet 😊 I got the Spanish omelette with biscuit and grits - the us hit was HUGE and the omelette cooked and seasoned perfectly - the house coffee was a good medium to light roast - my husband had bacon with his and it was perfectly crisp - we will be returning - thanks for starting our day well 🤗

Perfect... Exactly what I was looking for! I work on the Ferry from Hatteras to Ocracoke and I wanted breakfast on my 4hr drive home after working 7 days. Problem is there isn't any restaurants open for breakfast this time of year on Hatteras Island. I drove over an hour before I found this little gem. The food was fantastic! The coffee perfect! The service was flawless! Thank You for making my long drive worth it. I'll be back!
Super fun atmosphere with lots of talk and buzz. Went on Sunday morning and there was a wait. Things moved quickly tho. Servers were all nice and fast. Food was on par with a diner... the hamburger was kinda off but is not really the focal point of menu. The breakfast items were great!! Instant top 5 biscuits, they were huuuge and delish. I got the western omelet which was good, a bit greasy. The hash browns were lame. I don't like when they use shredded hash browns and 75% of them are still raw when served. Overall I would come again and would still suggest for breakfast. Great atmosphere and friendly folks. Much luck to them and have fun everybody!
Short wait, quick service and food came out right away too. Our server was very nice and she made sure we had coffee and water refilled at all times. I was sad I couldn’t buy a souvenir mug but they said they will have more soon!
Good ol’ southern hospitality and food! Had the French toast platter and grits, and it made me feel like I was home. Yum!
Everything was great. Good food and service. Very good coffee. Reasonably priced. Love the retro setting.
