Absolutely beautiful space, amazing food, drink, and staff.
I can't say enough about how much our family loved this distillery, bar, and restaurant. The distilled spirits made from maple syrup is such a beautifully executed concept with product names like Old Growth and Flamed Maple. The food and especially the desserts were perfection.
Hollerhorn will certainly now be a required stop for our family, every time we visit Rochester.
Lovely building and atmosphere. Great cocktails each time we visit.
Update:Recently visited for the ribbon cutting of their rebuilt facility. It was wonderful to see familiar faces and the venue is absolutely stunning. Menu is eclectic, and what we had was very good. Highly recommend a stop at Hollerhorn when in the Naples area.
best brunch & espresso martinis literally ever. awesome service. perfectly wheelchair accessible, wide doorways & ADA compliant bathrooms, plus very roomy inside. can’t recommend enough !!
We came looking for brunch but were informed that a fire destroyed most of the building and they were rebuilding. Nonetheless, the very nice barman made us try many of their products and everything was so great! We ended up buying some of their stuff anyway. Great place, we’ll be back for sure!
Gorgeous venue and very friendly staff. We stopped here for a quick drink before our dinner and were very happy to stay and relax for a bit on their balcony. We can imagine how great the distillery would be for a private event. Will be back again next time we are in Naples!
We stopped in here after some light hiking for a drink. They have an excellent selection of local beer, wine and spirits and many other craft choices as well as the classics. We enjoyed some drinks and took advantage of the pool table and nice seating. The staff was friendly and knowledge.
We stopped by for a Japanese whiskey and dinner pairing. Star of the show was a $900 bottle of yamazaki 18-year. to say that we were impressed with the overall experience is a massive understatement. Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed the event. The head distiller gave us tasting notes and reasons for pairings. The bar staff were extremely knowledgeable (We ordered a couple more drinks to go along with our dinner) and the staff was ridiculously friendly. It all felt so genuine and not forced at all. This was our first time coming to holler horn, and it certainly will not be our last. Besides the dinner, they have a ton of house made distillates that are pretty tough to find from major producers, and the prices are very reasonable. We left with a couple of bottles of bitters and some of their smoked maple distillate. If you have not yet paid them a visit please do so. See the pictures from our dinner.
I was never able to make it to Hollerhorn before the fire but I am extremely glad to have stopped by since they reopened. The aesthetic is WNY charm at it's finest with a warm dining area and a deck with a gorgeous view of the hillside.
We were greeted by the owner Karl, who was friendly and beaming with pride, excited to show off his new distillery. I had the Barrel Aged Old Fashioned which was flavorful and unique with just the right amount of bite to it. We ordered the Ploughman's Board, the potatoes, chicken schnitzel and shrimp.
All of the food was outstanding but the potatoes, schnitzel and the brie on the Ploughman's board were the bright and shinning stars of our evening. I do not claim to be a brie connoisseur but this was smoky and light and paired perfectly with the rest of the board.
The potatoes were savory with the right hint of crisp. I would come back and just get those. The schnitzel was thick, crispy and cooked perfectly.
Run, don't walk, to this hidden gem in the foothills of WNY. You'll be glad you did!
They are back!! Can't wait for the rebuild to officially open. Smoky Old Fashioned was on point!
The place is wonderful! An amazing view with an interesting, fresh, and colorful food. A must stop if you’re ever near Naples, NY, or live in this area.
First time visiting off a recommendation from folks in Canadice Lake. As veterans of the hospitality industry we were impressed with the level of awareness and cleanliness that went into maintaining a safe and engaging environment during these trying times. The staff were attentive, cheerful and thorough. The dining spaces were lovely with great ambience inside and sweet views outside. We hadn't eaten out in awhile (obvious reasons) and ordered a variety of seasonal vegetarian options: Potato tostones, b&b board, grilled vegetarian sandwich and cold soba salad. We were delighted with all of them! I think folks with any diet preference will be happy. We also brought home some bourbon barrel-aged maple syrup that is oh so dang good over waffles and stirred into coffee. We will definitely be back.
What an exceptional experience! Amazing spirits, terrific, knowledgeable service from the staff. These guys make some unique and very interesting spirits. You won’t be disappointed.
Beautiful inside and out! A unique space with music and art in mind. Gorgeous views of the hills and yummy food and drinks. I always take my out of town guests here for dinner, drinks and live music.
This place is absolutely wonderful. Great service, delicious food, top notch drinks, awesome music, and a beautiful view make this a go-to!
This was an amazing experience. The staff and owners are great. The food is amazing - one of the best burgers I have ever had, but everything was wonderful. Incredibly stocked bar and diverse selection whether whiskey, beer, wine, etc. Definitely come try this place out - you won't be disappointed and you will absolutely want to come back!
The Dinner
I had the Ploughman Cheese and Charcuterie platter with a berry fizz cocktail. It was superbly fresh and the presentation was beautiful with freshly toasted bread, house pickled vegetables and a house-made tartine with pistachios. Enough to share with 2 or 3 people or make a meal in itself. Together with herbed cheese curds, it wan an afternoon of bliss with this view to enjoy.
Gunship
This gin collaboration between Black Button and Hollerhorn is really fabulous. This gin is citrus and floral forward, expressing lavender and coriander rather than traditional gin herbal notes like juniper. This is one worth trying. It was fabulous in a berry fizz cocktail and smooth drinking neat.
Silver Leaf
This maple-based spirit has a sophisticated taste. It has a fruity and vanilla forward taste. It smooths out in the residual flavor left on the tongue. Surprisingly, it does not taste of maple, rather, it is a nice lightly flavored spirit reminiscent of agave or tequila. It is really unique for the New York labelled spirit category. It is enjoyable neat but will be great in cocktails with its flavor profile.
Seedling
This is an herbal flavored maple-based spirit. It has caramel and vanilla notes from barrel aging and warming as it goes down neat. This will enhance/replace the flavor of vodka in many craft cocktail.
Can't say enough about the staff and the spirits. Both were great! Highly recommend a visit to see for yourself.
There is a wait to get in but its 100% worth it. Fantastic food, unbelievable well crafted spirits, and a beautiful back drop to dine or drink to. This has become one of our favorites in the area.
It's been a little over two years since I was in upstate and could visit this incredible place. When I saw the fire, I knew I wanted to leave a note of encouragement and send well wishes for the rebuilding. Visiting your distillery was a highlight of a trip with friends that we still reference and remember today. Standing on the balcony, drinking spirits on a cold day with friends and family is a memory we are so looking forward to remaking once you are back up and running. Thank you for building and rebuilding such a special place. I can't wait to visit again!
