By far one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long while. Our service was outta bounds and the food...uh-mazing! The beer can chicken with gravy poured from a PBR can - nice touch. The cheese plate was delish! Great wine and cocktail selection (cucumber gimlet rocked worlds). Fully recommend this vibey place
I don’t even know what to say other than up to this point it was the best brunch I have experienced in Nashville. Everything made in house, exceptional service with personable waitstaff. Just all-around… A great experience. Highly recommend them for brunch!

I went to 5th and Taylor for brunch after reading many favorable reviews. The pictures of the place showed an open dining area, open kitchen, big bar, and an inviting cool patio and the pictures gave an accurate portrayal. We opted for a bloody Mary and a couple of proseco s and a few appetizers to begin the brunch. Monkey bread and sausage cheese biscuits! Wow and yum, our waiter gave suggestions and told us to make sure we use the jelly. We ordered the sausage egg scramble, chorizo omelet and a quiche. The portions were a good size, only 1 person could finish our breakfast, take-home containers were needed. Our visit was enjoyable on all fronts. We were greeted graciously and seated quickly. The restaurant is clean and open and trendy. Our server had great knowledge on the food and was able to answer all questions regarding the menu and offer delicious suggestions. Make a reservation and give your taste buds a present and visit 5th and Taylor.
If you haven’t dined at 5th & Taylor do not wait one more minute, go tonight! My photography studio is on 1st & Taylor so I pass here daily and always wanted to try it; all I know is I waited too long. I dined here Friday night with a table of 5 of us. Every single part of our experience exceeded my expectations!!! The craft cocktails were yummy! The ambiance was perfect to set the mood. Okay now the steak tartare was the best I’ve ever had; and I’ve had a lot of tartare it’s my fave. I had the beer can chicken, wowza. The other guests enjoyed their entrees just as much. Our server was extremely knowledgeable, gave great suggestions and was truly fun to engage with. I love it so much we are going back for the next 3 weekends. This is now my new place to take clients and for much needed date nights with my husband!!! Thank you 5th&Taylor for training your staff to be exceptional best service I’ve received in Nashville thus far. Loyal client for life 😋
We had an amazing time! The service was awesome and they did separate checks for a party of 12! The food was amazing. This time I had the fried chicken and it was outstanding, maybe the best I have ever had, and the mashed potatoes were divine! I think we had 4 or 5 bowls of them. And then again on the recommendation of the waitress, had the fried apple pie with hot caramel sauce!!!! I was licking the plate! Thanks for a fabulous night!
Great place. Attended a private birthday party. The food was excellent, staff was fantastic, drinks over the top. Beer can chicken was so good. Bacon wrapped Quail and dates was out of this world.
The food was delicious!!! The table ordered appetizers and I ordered the filet with creamed spinach and fennel for my entree. Everything was amazing and our waitress, Kayleigh, was the best!
The food is incredible! Had dinner on the patio this evening. Beautiful and laid back atmopshere!
We went there last night for the first time, the food was AMAZiNG!! The beef tartar and onion tart were phenomenal. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, and the service was exceptional. It was so good we decided to come back for brunch today and had the same experience! Highly recommend!!!
Fabulous from start to finish! I had the kale salad and the white bean & lobster soup, highly recommend them both!
The cauliflower entree was wonderful! Also loved the beer can chicken! But the Pear Ginger Sorbet was a perfect finish! Professional service. Highly recommend.
Amazing food and great atmosphere. You can not go wrong with the mixed grill or the beef cheek pot roast.
Really lovely friendly restaurant. Nice food good wine and exceptional helpful staff.
Thankyou we had a wonderful night
The pot roast was amazing (melt in your mouth amazing). The service was fantastic and we loved the atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
The moment we stepped in and several times throughout the night the staff would greet us for our wedding anniversary which I thought was really sweet. They even served each of us a glass of champagne on the house which was completely unexpected. Service was prompt and our server constantly checked in on us so top marks for that! As for food - we had the cheeseboard to begin with along with drinks and afterwards had the roasted pumpkin soup, the beer can chicken and the fried apple pie. The last one is an instant favorite. Thank you 5th and Taylor for wonderful experience!
Fantastic! I recommend making reservations. We arrived around 8:00pm and sat at the bar, because they were 100% booked. We enjoyed the cocktails and the fried chicken and pork shoulder. A great place to get away from the crazy tourist and have a nice dinner.
Dont know where Mr. Knight is used to eating but I couldn't disagree with him more! We live in California and were visiting my daughter who lives here and who took us here last night: my wife and I know food and have lived in EU and Japan and this was one of our best meals ever. So good we are going back again tonight! Yes not cheap but we've had a lot of as or more expensive meals that were a helluva lot worse. Fish and chicken dishes wonderful!
Everything I had here was amazing. Great drinks and food. We had the sausage biscuits, beef tartar and the chicken and dumplings. I recommend all of them.
I’m in love with this place. The ambience is impeccably vibe-y and dark/intimate. The service was also excellent and efficient. The NY strip and mashed was some of the best I’ve ever had. Just overall such an A+ experience, this will absolutely be a re-visit next time I’m in Nashville. I also love that this is away from the Broadway madness and in a quiet neighborhood. Super classy.
Incredible; visited for our anniversary and it did not disappoint - we had the summer peach salad and sausage cheddar biscuits to start. Biscuits are flaky and sweet and the salad was delicious. Sharp cheddar + fresh fruit made for a stunning combination. For entrees I highly recommend the beer can chicken, although the beef cheek pot roast was phenomenal as well. Chicken was cooked to perfection and the accompanying mashed potatoes were some of the best I've had. I also got a side a green beans which came with roasted garlic that went very well with my dish. Portions are large, but there is a $5 split fee, so you may as well get your own and take some leftovers home! They did not offer a free dessert for our anniversary, but with such an upscale place that's not necessarily expected.
Good food. Big portions. Great service. What else could you want. Got the meatloaf sandwich, beer chicken, and fried chicken.
Edit: went again. Fried chicken was very good. The monkfish was also very good. Dessert was good too
I would recommend the monkfish, beer chicken, or fried chicken overall. I don’t feel like the meatloaf was quite as good as the others, as I just wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce on it personally.
Overall a phenomenal experience. Went with a group of people and tried all the appetizers. Couldn't go wrong with any of them. Entrees were phenomenal and the service was splendid. It is on the pricey side, so beware of that but worth it.
This place is just all around phenomenal. The cocktails are some of my favorite in Nashville, the food is simple yet elevated to excellence, the atmosphere is unparalleled and the service we received from Kevin was excellent- he’s terrific!
So much finesse! Don’t miss out!
Best meal I’ve had in awhile. The mashed potatoes are addictive. I started with the sausage cheddar biscuits which apparently aren’t just for breakfast anymore. They had a slight sweetness to them. Then I followed that with the short ribs that had a mild fig sweetness to it. I tried the Mac and cheese, which was good, but I really just wanted the mashed potatoes. This meal was fabulous and service was attentive without being annoying.
Came here while visiting Nashville. As a group of 4 we did sharing style so we could try a bunch of things. Big highlights were the zucchini fritters, short rib and the scallops - would come again to just have those. Mash potatoes were also super creamy and tasty. Overall really solid restaurant
Very nice dining experience, we dined on beautiful outdoor patio. Excellent menu choices, the short rib was excellent and the sides and must try the fried peach & berry pie al a mode. The summer old fashioned was really good also.
Ryan was an amazing server, super knowledgeable with the entire menu, and I am sad to say we only got pictures of the donuts, but EVERYTHING was rediculously tasty and well balanced. We are definitely coming back at least for the service and the blueberry ricotta donuts, the most under-described item on the menu. This dish pairs well with a serving of their vanilla bourbon ice cream.
We had an amazing time and loved the atmosphere. Busy even on a Wednesday. We had a 630 reservation and were seated right away. We started with the quail and the sausage biscuit, both were recommended and they didn't disappoint. My wife loved the monk fish and I ordered the venison loin which tasted wonderful but came out on a cool to the touch plate which made everything luke warm. If it wasn't for that I would have given 5 stars.
We've been here several times over the years. It's really an underrated place. Always consistently good food and pleasant service. Continues to be a go-to spot in Nashville. Really enjoyed it!
I really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere was great it was super busy had a good vibe and good energy but you could still talk and communicate without having to raise your voice much. The food had a lot of different flavors I ordered the filet. It was good but not mind going there was a little bit too much sauce on it for me. Someone else with order to scallops and said they were pretty good and then we ordered several different appetizers all of which were good. He also ordered two different salads which I was not a huge fan of. The service was good even considering how busy it was and the food came out timely. We went on a Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m.

Redemption. (Let me explain)
This was my first time visiting 5th & Taylor. We decided to give it a try as we were celebrating a few March birthdays in our party. It just so happened to be St Paddy’s Day also, which may or may not have attributed to this “almost 4-star redemption review”.
The place was packed, which like always, is a good sign. I do recommend making a reservation. We could only get a 5:15pm reservation which is perfect as my wife and I love to eat early. We ended up running a little late so we called the hostess to make sure they knew we still intended on keeping our reservation. They were very gracious and told us that the next party (after us) wasn’t due until 8pm, so we could take our time.
The ambiance was great. Dark, artistic, kinda rustic feeling, and of course very, “hip”. Not surprising as this is located in Germantown. We sat in an area with floor-to-ceiling art. Very cool. We loved the vibe.
The bathroom situation was rather odd. The first challenge was trying to locate the bathroom (which is in the back left corner of the restaurant). The second challenge was trying to figure out which door to go into! No joke, I almost landed myself in the women’s bathroom my first go around, and actually saw another man walk straight into the women’s bathroom (accidentally) only to be scolded by one of the servers. So it wasn’t just me folks LOL! There were only two stalls in the men’s bathroom so a line tends to form, and tile wall decor was making my eyes do weird things. Needless to say, I survived the trip to the bathroom with no casualties.
The hostess introduced herself and we ordered drinks. I ordered my usual, pinot noir, and it was good (as usual) so nothing much to report on there. The others in our party, however, ordered specialty drinks and they looked fantastic.
Next was the food. We ordered a few appetizers, sadly, not pictured, the cheddar biscuits, but they were delicious. Myself and a friend both ordered the filet, she ordered her filet as it came prepared (with cheese on top) and I subbed the cheese for Shishito peppers. We both ordered our steaks cooked MEDIUM (red center). Well, both our filets came out looking like beef jerky and cooked well done. Now, I hate being the “that guy” who complains or sends back food, but this was too egregious to stay silent, and plus I had my wife say something for me LOL. Side note- over the past 10 years of marriage if I’ve learned anything, it’s this; better to have a beautiful woman flash you her beautiful smile and politely and apologetically explain that the food needs to be sent back, rather than a grumpy, hungry man with a $43 over-cooked steak!
So the steaks were sent back, but we decided to change our orders to the beer can chicken just to avoid another over-cooked situation. They happily granted our request, but not only did they bring out the beer can chicken, but also one of our filets (free of charge) cooked medium, just so we can taste it. This kind of customer service is what every restaurant needs to emulate! That right there is 5-star worthy! And they totally redeemed themselves, because not only was the beer can chicken delicious, so was that medium- cooked filet.
Overall the food was great, the customer service was excellent and we had a fun time. I will definitely be coming back for another visit. Thanks for the wonderful customer service, 5th & Taylor!
Food overall was very good. We started with the duck wings, bacon wrapped quail, tomato pie and then moved to scallops, short rib and got Mac n cheese, Brussels sprouts. I think that much food was perfect for 3 of us. Ended with fried peach pie for dessert. I had the strawberry sangria and thought it was refreshing but also on the sweeter side. I tried a bit of the raspberry beret and wasn’t a fan of the heavy bitters.
Generally everything was tasty although I did think duck wings and brussel sprouts were a bit too sweet. The fried peach pie was very good too although the caramel was overwhelming. I almost wish it was a little bitter to balance the overly sweet filling. I do think generally there was a missing wow quality to many of the dishes and food came out in a slower than expected pace. I think my favorite were the Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes - super creamy. Overall, a great place for drinks and food with friends. I came with family and thought it was a bit loud.
I always come here when I’m in town. Great food, great drinks, and great staff. The Turkey wings are delicious. If you find yourself debating between the ribeye and the wagyu - don’t. Just get both! Reservations are highly recommended.
Always a great meal. Had the Mushroom Stew and Mashed Potatoes which was total comfort food. Both of my friends streaks were excellent.
When they have bourbon cubes for their Old Fashions, then they will be perfect.
