We're kicking ourselves for not finding this place sooner! 10/10 on bbq and ribs. We got the drifter sandwich, the chicken dinner, and a full rack of ribs. It was all delicious. & Chaz was a phenomenal server - timely, friendly, professional. We'll definitely be back soon. They've also got a great patio for nice days and those of you who bring your furry friends along.

First time here since the rebuild and it did not disappoint. Delicious brisket nachos, large portions, excellent service. Great place for a meal and drinks

Great barbecue! They make their own sauce (YUM!) and all their sides are amazing! Ask for their new frozen "drink" 😉. Relaxed, fun, and live music in the Five Points neighborhood of Nashville!

Out of town for four days, my family went to dinner here all three nights in town. After our first night, we were hooked because of every aspect: the food, the atmosphere, the live music, and the service...... you will not find any better server than Ashley, who waited on us each night. She is so awesome, she even remembered our drink orders on the second day. Their patio is also dog friendly, so our pup was able to join us each night. We tried almost everything on the menu (their nachos are the attached photo) and came to the conclusion that Drifter's has the best BBQ. We will happily return just for this amazing experience! In conclusion, there is not any negative thing I can say about this place, other than it isn't in Knoxville, TN.

This place was my first experience of True American dining. Nice joint, sweet staff. The food was pretty good. I ordered the half rack of ribs and it was unlike anything I have ever experienced before. They had great music playing inside the place, as well as great live bands playing nearly every night (that I noticed) on the patio. They also have 2-4-1 Beers, so how can you go wrong. God Bless America!

Date had the Corn Dog. Fresh made, hot, outstanding. I had the pork sandwich. Tender, good flavor. Ashley's service is top-notch. Atmosphere has energy. Really liked that all food is prepared in house. We will be back.

Such a fun vibe! Even though it's super busy and for good reason, there is still room to spread out. The bartenders were prompt and the service was too. The band was great!

Took a friend there the same night and they also thought this is the best barbecue! Great environment tucked into a great neighborhood in East Nashville. Absolutely perfect!!!

WOW! as someone visiting Nashville looking for a local and authentic experience - this is IT. Don't even think about going to martins bbq or edly's - this is a MUST DO. We got the recommendation from our Uber driver and were not sure how it would compare to the other bbq restaurants bc it didn't have as many reviews but drifters did not disappoint. MUSIC: they have live music every night- the only place in Nashville that has daily music! And the band was one of the best we heard RIBS: after having ribs at drifter's, I know every rib experience I have from now on will be a downhill experience. These ribs were so tender that I poked it and the meat fell off. Phenomenal! SAUCE: our waiter colt gave us a variety of sauces to try. They're all made in house and are incredible. SERVICE: Colt was our waiter and he gave us great recos for not only the food but also places in Nashville to go to. He had the best hospitality and was one of the best waiters I've had in Nashville. He was genuinely interested in helping us get the best experience possible! For example, he was extra courteous when it came to getting us enough water and making sure the speaker volume wasn't too loud for us since we were sitting right in front of it. AUTHENTICITY: do not be like the others and go to mediocre bbq chains - go to drifters!!!!

Great food, staff was very friendly! We ordered the bbq trio. Split with 2 people, we were stuffed and had leftovers! We ordered two extra sides for variety. Pulled pork, brisket, smoked sausage, fries, baked beans, Mac n cheese, jalapeno hush puppies, and slaw was included. My favorite was the hush puppies and smoked sausage!

This place made us feel at home! The pickles Holy they are good. BBQ was great, service was world class. My only small complaint and its so small was the sides could be a bit better. Don't skip this place

Nestled in the super cool/fun neighbourhood of Five Points/East Nashville, we ordered a TON of BBQ from this spot on a Saturday night and loved it so much a few of us returned the following day for Sunday lunch. My veggie/vegan friends were pleasantly surprised to notice there was an entire vegetarian section! So friendly to meat and veggie lovers alike. Good live music and a patio made this an ideal spot for lunch! One star comes off because there was no white wine! Would definitely return.

Other BBQ places get a lot more hype, but Drifter's never fails to deliver a delicious plate of BBQ, and ranks right up there with the best. While it is in the heart of East Nashville - right in the Five Points area - you could easily miss it. It sits back in the alley between Battered and Fried and Five Points Pizza. They have a nice sized outdoor patio and seating area, but the building itself is a bit nondescript. Once inside it feels a bit like a dive bar. It's comfortable and unpretentious - the perfect vibe for East Nashville. I typically visit either for lunch or a late dinner at the bar, and service under those circumstances has been excellent. One of my favorites is the pulled chicken sandwich. Excellent BBQ chicken and a wonderful grilled bun with a hint of garlic. The sides have all been quite good and I appreciate black beans for an occasional less sweet bean option (although the regular beans are very good). I enjoyed the ribs again most recently, after a long hiatus from them, and they were surprisingly good. Meaty, tender, still moist but not fatty. Great depth of flavor from the rich, dark bark. Half a rack was plenty and at $16.99 a very very good value too - it came with two sides. They have a sauce station with a variety of BBQ sauces, but I think my fave is the house sauce that's on the table. Nicely sweet and tangy.
