Great little take out bbq joint. Perfect place to grab some lunch and sit in the centennial park right beside it.
The white sauce on the pulled chicken was tasty, without being overpowering

The pork sandwich with white barbeque sauce was amazing. The food is delicious and the environment was very friendly and casual. It's a great place to stop for lunch if you're visiting the Nashville Parthenon.

YUM! Drove past this quaint little walk-up shop last week and argued with my husband about the 21+ sign on the building. Turns out, that was the bar next door. Don't be discouraged!! I had a pulled pork sandwich with their medium sauce, my son had a small pork with the "step up from ketchup" sauce, and my husband had pulled turkey with white and medium sauce. All of which were delicious. I even put some slaw on mine! Peach cobbler was the dessert, and every bite was amazing. The white sauce is fantastic!!! Medium sauce was just the right amount of bite, but not burn your tongue off spicy (I have a medium palate when it comes to hot stuff). We also tried the hot and extra hot sauces, which were very true to names! 10/10 would recommend, and 100% chance I will be returning!

SAD day 11-27-2019 Hog Heaven RIP we will miss your BBQ smoked chicken with hot white sauce. Gonna miss this wonderful Nashville Original. BBQ Pickle Spears gonna miss them....

Been coming here since 1993. Enjoyed my last lunch here with me kids. You will be missed.

It's sad to just find out this morning that today is Hog Heaven's last day in business. I have eaten here many times over the years and have never once been disappointed in anything they offered. Their white hot BBQ sauce poured over any meat is just out of this world. The owners Katie and her husband made this place rock, and I wish I could come eat here one final time today and thank you all in person but I can't, so if y'all are reading this thank you for operating this labor of love business for so long and making it so unique and special. Your efforts are much appreciated and I know your future endeavors will be a huge success, whatever they are!

Went there for lunch on Saturday. Instant service, large portions, and great tasting. I had the pork, my wife the beef, and both were great.. Cold slaw and mashed potatoes were also perfectly done. Since they do not use any wheat fillers it was all gluten free.

If you are thinking about having BBQ for a wedding, then you need to have Hog Heaven do it. They did amazing for our wedding last September and all of our guests were very pleased with the food. They set up everything and made the meal amazing!! You may be worried that BBQ for a wedding may not be the classy way to go, but your guests want to eat and they want to eat good food. You cannot go wrong with Hog Heaven. Thank you!!!!!

I really liked this BBQ place! They give you SO much food for the amount that you pay. It is completely worth it. Not to mention the people who are working in the kitchen and behind the register are usually pretty funny and really helpful, so it makes for an enjoyable ordering experience. I didn't wait long to get my food at all considering how busy it was. Not the best BBQ in the world, but most definitely worth the money. :)

I think their pulled pork is better than any in town, even the fancier (and very good!) places in 12s and Green Hills. This isn't a restaurant... It's a place to get great BBQ. It's the definition of a great hole-in-the-wall... If I didn't know it was awesome, I wouldn't walk into this place, let alone order food. But it's perfectly awesome. I have to fight the urge for BBQ every time I go to Centennial Park.

Very small good take out spot. First time there for lunch today with coworkers. Bun was cold and green beans were no good. Mac and cheese and brisket were good tho. Should be a 3.5 out of 5

Very good, but not great.<br/><br/>My husband and i saw this place all over the food network and ordered the white bbq turkey sandwich as recommended by the show 'Best thing i ever ate'<br/>Its was just ok. Meat was dry even with the sauce, it was on a cold regular onion roll with a cold slice of cheddar. Not just room temp, but fridge cold. <br/><br/>Maybe we got the wrong thing, but im not too impressed.

I've lived in Texas & Alabama all my life. I have had a great deal of bbq and I can confidently say that these were the best ribs I have ever eaten. The meat melted off the bone and the hot bbq sauce was delicious. My boyfriend had the pulled pork sandwich and enjoyed it but wished he had gotten the extra hot bbq sauce. Overall great bbq food. Not giving 5 stars only because it is outside seating and there was a TON of flies. Need to invest in a bug zapper.

Pretty good bbq. Tiny place, the meats seem to be reheated, but still tastes great.

Over Priced For a Small Sizes. I work at Vanderbilt Medical Center and live in the area. I have noticed that some of the restaurants on west end love to cut you small portions for a bigger price. Hog Heaven is one place. What is the problem you may ask, well I will explain. You know those little Kroger hamburger buns. Now put a spoon size portion off BBQ pork on it. Now put a small equal size portion of two sides out of the jar on your plate. You now have HOG HEAVENS $ 10.00 plate. They even have the nerve to tell you if you want cornbread it would be more. To me $ 10.00 is about $ 3.00 dollars too much for what they give you. So if you just got money to toss thru there order window eat at Hog Heaven. You can get good BBQ anywhere in Nashville. I just want my money's worth. Try PEGLEG PORKERS you will see what I mean. $5.00 for the biggest BBQ sandwich you can eat.

A diamond in the rough! Turkey sandwich is awesome with the white sauce. Ribs are falling off the bone and my daughter loved the pork sandwich
Brandon Olinger
I did not like this place because, while we watched from the window as they were preparing the food, they were taking it out of the fridge were each serving was wrapped in plastic bags. Then they would throw the bags in the microwave to warm them up. After we received our meal, everything was bland and dry.

Low quality meat, little to no smoke flavor, cheap white breads, mediocre to poor sauce. Bad bbq.
Sarah Spoons
Not bad but wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.

Two words... White Sauce

Best BBQ. Best BBQ I've had in my life. I've had barbecue all over the country and this place sure hits the spot. Its behind a McDonald's and only has 2 picnic benches covered outside. The pulled pork sandwich is awesome as well as the brisket sandwich with hot sauce. Best BBQ in Nashville, hands down!!
Viperblue72
Pulled pork was perfectly smoky, tender, and juicy. The sauces available are nicely balanced and the cole slaw is tangy and sweet.

Disappointed..... My expectations were high on the way into Nashville...rumor had it this was the place. From the outside, Hog Heaven has the look of an amazing place.....but sadly it was a so-so experience. Highlights...the smoked turkey and beans; Disappointment--pulled pork.
Steve S.
Pulled pork was ok. Side dishes are amazing. Mashed potatos, beans, slaw, and potato salad are all winners.

####. Can't believe I've lived here 15 yrs and just stopped in today for the first time. Best pulled pork and slaw sandwich anywhere in this town. Moist meat, great sauce & UNSWEETENED SLAW. Outstanding. The blackberry cobbler and ice cream were the perfect closer.

Simply put this was the worse food I've ever had. I had heard this was a good place so I searched for it on 3 different trips. I bought both ribs and sandwiches to take out for the family. I was totally shocked at how awful it was. It was more like rat meat than pork. This was a year ago and I had to take time and think about how horrible it was. I'm only reporting this now because the new BBQ season is starting and it might help others from wasting time and money.

What's the big deal?. Meh would be hyperbole.

Cheap and tasty. Good price. food was good. simple and not fussy
Elizabeth
Simple and delicious. This place is small and potentially easy to miss... but it was tasty!!! No frills on the sandwiches... meat, sauce, maybe cheese... but you don't need much else. I got the turkey, and the white sauce was great. Husband got pork and was also happy. The people going through the fast food drive-thru next door are crazy or don't know what they're missing!
Liza
Smoked turkey with white BBQ sauce!. I love it so much that I haven't tried anything else... I could drink that sauce... seriously.
Joseph
Straight up goodness. Great food, no unnecessary glitz. There's a window service and a picnic table but when the food is this good, nothing else is needed. <br/><br/>good portions (not HUGE but certainly not undersized), and a great sauce. <br/><br/>nice people, too. Get an order and go sit under a tree for a minute...
Payton
Yummy. Good BBQ. Next time I will try the white sauce
Amanda Jamma
Yum!. Very Spicy! Both the red and the white sauce have some bite. If you haven't yet, try the white sauce - it's kind of a novelty and it's pretty tasty too!

Run of the mill. The pulled beef and pork were good. The ribs were not the worst I have had but they are close. Does fall off the bone mean anything because these were rubbery. As for the brisket it was like eating the pulled pork. Over all it was a once in a lifetime experience. I can say i have been there done that.

Just OK. The weather was gorgeous (spring fever) and I was looking for a patio to have a good lunch. It was my first time here. The b-b-q was decent, but did not blow me away. The service was good and the prices were very reasonable....my only complaint....the patio was good size, but you could not see anything past the tall fence line that wrapped around it.....zero view.

Ugh. How does this place get a good review. Just because a bbq place is a hole in the wall, doesn't mean it's good. its not. Styrafone and plastic untensils, fair sauce does not make a good meal. Nice being near the park. Won't go again.
Shonuff
No Frills just BBQ. The pulled pork was good and the sauces were great. Never had a white sauce before. If you mix the white with the hot sauce it is great.
Bob Schatz
The best little barbecue shack in Nashville. What's not to love about this barbecue. Don't let the sketchy shack hold you back. I would say the chopped pork is the best country style barbecue, and one of the top, spicy sauces in Nashville. It's best surprise is the chicken! Don't forget to ask for the white sauce to drizzle over the smokey good meat.
Monty
I frequent this primarily take-out BBQ restaurant about 3 times a month. The BBQ beef is outstanding, as are the sides. And it's directly across from Centennial Park, convenient to Vanderbilt and the West End. In the past 5 years I have never been disappointed. The building may look like a bait shop but the food is the reason for coming, not the ambience. Highly recommended!

BBQ Sandwich experience. Stop into this place on your way home from work, grab a pulled pork sandwich with sauce, a side of potato salad and some green beans. (though your friends would likely love a take out sandwich from here as well.)<br/><br/>If you don't mind a little cig smoke for a few minutes,... then immediately walk next store to the Dive Bar and take a seat Order a cold beer and savor your sandwich at the bar.The bartender will welcome you to the place.<br/><br/>Watch the locals play some pool throw back beers and then perhaps play a game before going to your next destination.

Hog Heaven needs to spend less time on the condiments and more time on the meat.
Marilyn Wolf
When I figured out how close Hog Heaven is to Vanderbilt, it instantly became my dinner destination. It's on the edge of Centennial Park in a low-key location, right behind McDonald's. I ate at a picnic table underneath a shady roof. The meat on my ribs came off the bone with the slightest touch of my lips---my breath was almost enough. It had a distinct but not overwhelming smoke note at the beginning, followed by the wonderful taste of pork. My black-eyed peas were great. The greens were tender and flavorful; I used the optional vinegar sauce which I really liked. Not many BBQ places make their own bread, so the cornbread cake was a special treat.
