Surprised this place wasn't packed for lunch on a Tuesday. Great lunch cafeteria-style selections - chicken fried pork chops, country style steak, ribs, cabbage, collards - SON!! It was delicious. Guy serving the food was nice, too.
Carol Ann's is a hole in the wall joint that has the best catfish baskets, strong drinks, AND the best to do it - Ernie Allen from WQQK 92Q on the wheels of steel 6pm-10pm every single Friday night. It's a nice size club looks like a hole in the wall from the outside but I likes the environment. Great food super seasoned. The crowd was a bit of a let down on a Saturday night. The waitress Ashante "like the singer" was very sweet I would go back.

Tuesday nights is live blues music and the band and artists truly delivered. The drinks were priced well and the pour was good. The catfish was fresh and delicious.
I highly recommend this place on a Tuesday night if you like live blues music or just socialize and enjoy good food and drinks any other time they are open. I would call it a clean “hole in the wall” type establishment.

One day I was looking for a belly buster type of a meal for lunch when I came across CAROL ANN'S sign along Murfreesboro Rd., stopped in and in was on!
First off all, there was live music, PEOPLE enjoying them selves and the food was great. On a scale of 1-10, 11+.
I learned sometime ago that Nashville has some seriously good food places. I PLAN TO FIND THEM.
So far, For the sake of Soul food, Carol Ann's has it hands down.
So when trying to figure out how to do the N.Y.E., CAROL ANN'S popped into my head. Now, if that wasn't timely enough, my wife's favorite place was waiting for her here in Nashville. We went to Carol Ann's Live N.Y.E. BASH. IT WAS THE BEST!!!
Baby girl didn't want to leave. Man we danced, shook a tailfeather, sipped, talked smack, and shook some more and then line dancing, WOBBLE BABY, WOBBLE BABY........and we ATE🍗🍽, the food was awesome.
ALL together, we had a great time.

If your looking for a grown and sexy spot with good music. Here's the spot for you.. we danced all night and ordered food from the kitchen..everything we ordered was cooked and seasoned to perfection.

Catfish made fresh with beautiful light, crispy batter. The fish was cooked and moist! Lovely people, too. The young woman cooking was very friendly and the young man behind the counter was efficient and charming with all of his customers. Seemed like a lot of regulars and if I'm ever in the area, I will absolutely be back!
The baked chicken and cornbread were fantastic!! Mashed potatoes were okay, and the greens were just a bit too peppery. Made for a nice, quick, old school lunch.
Staff were nice and polite! Laid back vibe. I'd go back for the baked chicken alone!
