Visited here for the first time this morning, the food was amazing!!!!!!!!!!! None of my food needed seasoning, it was perfectly seasoned. I will definitely be a repeat customer. I highly recommend this places to anyone not looking for the big chains same old boring menu items.....I also recommend you get there early because the line gets extremely long....fast!!!
My husband and I, even while in the line did not realize ALL of your selections. š² Omg!. This place really had me missing Cleveland Ohio on a Saturday evening and the food places you could go to. We wish you were in Smyrna/Murfreesboro area. The food was excellent we ate from our plates Sunday and Monday. When leaving Mt. Zion's 8:15am service on Sunday you are now our place to go to. We don't mind the hour wait. We go check out the marketā¤
GREAT breakfast!! Family owned and run. Awesome grits, fried potatoes, apples and perfectly cooked eggs! Came at the very end of breakfast Antynishe served and guided us.... Sophia (Momma- owner) working and being the kitchen general.....all in all 5 stars!!!
Open early with dinner food for all night workers like cops and 3rd shift folks. It's nice to get a country fried steak for breakfast. One of a kind.
I love the food.. I live in Detroit but every time I'm in Nashville most Definitely I get me some Silver Sands.. Had baked chicked today.. Delicious frfr
I haven't had Silver Sands in years and when I say they are still on point!!! Breakfast
First time visiting today and the food was amazing. The staff was friendly and did I say the food was amazing. I will definitely be visiting again.

This is now my favorite place to eat! The food is superb!
Man this is some of the best country cooking you can ask for. Since I started coming here to Nashville, I have to have it at least once a week, and you will never leave feeling disappointed.
I love this place! The food is awesome and so are the people. I go several times a weekļæ½
First time eating here. Very friendly and comforting atmosphere! The owner is a beautiful, very welcoming person, really loved her energy most of all. The food is very good, only thing I didn't like was the hot water cornbread! The service was good but it's a very busy place, line out the door busy, but I think the customers in line should be able to order and receive their food first. It was several orders coming in over the phone and those orders were being fixed first, then the lady would break away and start back on the line. Everyone should rush there if you want that good home southern cooking!!!!! We'll definitely be back again!
My husband, daughter and I went today for lunch after my husband and I saw this place on a TV show with Buddy from Cake Boss. There was already a line pretty far back when we arrived, and we waited a long time. Too long. Most of the food is already cooked, so it didn't make sense why everyone had to wait so long. The food was great, though. My daughter and I both had the fried chicken. We got white meat, so we had to wait 15 minutes once we placed our order. We still had several people ahead of us waiting, so the wait for the white meat didn't seem that long compared to the initial wait we had. The chicken was some of the best I've had. We both got the mac cheese, also excellent. I got the cabbage and she got the mashed potatoes. All very good. My husband got the turkey and stuffing with Mac cheese and cabbage. He really liked it. My lemonade was way too sweet. I had to add water to it to tone it down. The decor needs some improvement. Robert Irvine would do wonders with this place. Just don't touch the food! Service is just way too slow. It shouldn't take that long, so that's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
This was my first time here. The soul food choices were of a good variety. We went pig style and got pigs feet and hog maws, turnip greens, white beans, sweet potatoes, and hot water cornbread. I must say with the exception of the sweet potatoes, the food was EXCELLENT! It reminded me of my grandmother's cooking in the country. We ate in the car because the smell was too tempting to wait. We were extremely satisfied. The only thing was the sweet potatoes was too runny. The flavor was good and on point but it was like an uncooked pie consistency. We definitely will be back. We are planning at least 1-2 times a month. Only because the prices are a bit much for one meat & 2 veggies at $13-14. I also advise to get there right at opening to avoid waiting in line. This is a MUST stop if you want traditional real soul food.
Silver sands is one of the best places to get great soul food. The breakfast is out of this world and lunch is excellent. Also, I love coming there for breakfast and getting a fried potatoes and onions, chicken wings, pork chops and gravy fried apples. Everything is just so good. I can't wait to go back and I tell all my friends about it.
Proper soul food joint! It was so hard to choose what to eat, because I wanted it ALL. Crazy candied sweet potatoes blew my mind. Long wait but weāll worth it, especially since the tunes were cranked and people great to talk to!
Best food Iāve had in Nashville. They not playin with that Mac n cheese and yams.
Okay Nashville Natives and New Comers , I have been coming in this restaurant for years here and there, but today I must āReviewā!!!!! Plate#1:Turkey Sausage Omelette is SMACKING! Tattas&Onion are the best I have ever had from this place(let that person always makeāem)! Apples, are straight out of the can and need lots of help.
Plate#2: Chicken w/ Gravy over rice is just okay for me (heavy garlic) gravy is usually much better. Please let someone make the salmon croquettes because that heavy hand with the pepper almost ran me off!!! We will stick with the Omeletteās!
Listen let me tell you something if you like good old soul food that "somebody put their foot" in this is the place to be!!!
Every item I have ever purchased from silver sands has always been flavorful tasty,WITH LOVEEE & not bogged down with a bunch of Grease and just that old fashioned cooking that your mom or your granny used to cook for you!!
Today I went by I got spaghetti sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top fried chicken spinach tomatoes onions- lemon pound cake and some fried apples and let me tell you that aim to please !!
I'm extremely happy every time I'm in the Nashville area I always stop by to get my fix!!
The place is small but even though it is small THE FLAVORS make up for in the variety of food they have
The smiling faces really makes you feel & home.. inside is you're surrounded by music from the good old days.
The O'Jays,Temptations and more none of that newfangled music that really ain't got no soul, rhythm or a real purpose to it.
They even sell Kool-Aid( yeah the kind from house party) your food comes packed in a nice styrofoam container they provide you with eating utensils that have salt pepper napkins everything you need.
If you go right around the right time like I normally go in between 11:00 and 11:30 you get to watch the news and you get to sit down with I believe it's the owner's mother and watch Young and the restlessā¤ļø seeing that today really reminds me of being a kid not wanting to watch it with my mom,but I know love it- the place gives you that reminisce feeling.
If you don't go to silver sands Cafe and enjoy some food you're crazy,or just haven't found them.
Trust me you will be happy.
Found Silver Sands for breakfast after a long flight. Amazing food! Great people! Soul food breakfast that rejuvenated us. Best biscuits weāve ever tasted!
best soul food in town Service might be the worst they just move a little too slow called my order in And when I arrived I still had a long wait after I drove 15 minutes and was told my order would be ready in 15 minutes but the food kinda makes up for it. I guessā¦ā¦ just wish theyād move a little faster
Ms. Sophia Vaughn ( Owner) her staff, Danielle, both Brittany, or Brittney, not sure of the spelling, so many ways to spell their names, anyway, we were treated with the up most
good old fashion southern hospitality, (which is missing in our world today) Now for the delicious food, Oh My Goodness!! Everything was simply delicious. I had collards, okra, sweet potatoes,
corn cakes, can't stop thinking about the greens, wish I had some nowš friend had pork chops, greens, mac&cheese, corn cakes, again everything he said was sooooo good, and they give large portions. Ms.
Sophia keep up the good work,
You are a " GOD GIVEN GIFT FOR THE CITY OF NASHVILLE"
That was proven, because your restaurant stayed packed, and that was a Thursday! I can't imagine what it's like on the weekend.
Ms. Sophia may God continue Blessing you and your staff. When, and if God allows me to come back, you will be my first stop for my collards!š
Man, this place is the real deal. Food better than momma made, and you donāt leave hungry. Excellent!!!
This place is definitely on point! One of the best soul food spots in Nashville. Theyāre not afraid to season their food which is a plus in my book. Finally some good soul food thatās not bland!
The smothered pork chops are to die for. The gravy is heavenly. The spinach was the best I ever had. So delicious, even people who hate spinach will get converted by a side of this. Everybody tourist should come here once. Avoid the sweet potatoes if you're marginally diabetic though (way way too much sugar). Biggest shortcoming is the time spent in line. I got there at 11:10, they didn't start serving the first customer till 11:50, and there were over 25 people ahead of me, so all total was over 80 minutes in line before reaching the cashier. Love the food here, but will never go back, since I can reach the cashier in less than 15 minutes with 25 people ahead of me at a cafeteria in The Gulch where they serve the same Southern side dishes and don't wait 40 minutes to serve the first customer. Helps to have two cashiers at lunch, even with one food line.
