This place was absolutely delicious! Some very well done food made from scratch with obvious attention to detail. The kung pao fried tofu and the zoodles were delightful. Both dishes were full of amazing flavor and put together wonderfully. The steam buns were also amazing. The buns were obviously made in house, and the chicken was tender, and flavorful with some tasty house made pickles. Soooooo good! We even took one of each dessert home for later and both the pineapple cake and the spiced doughnut holes were to die for!

Fantastic experience. Chef Ryan’s food is ethereal. His Mapo Tofu is better and spicier than the version I ate in midtown Manhattan at Szechuan Gourmet three weeks ago. And that’s saying something. In fact, his Sichuan-Southern fusion cuisine is now a favorite culinary experience!

Meals at TKO are fresh, creative, and delicious. The owners and staff are highly attentive to details in their food preparation and to their diners. The no-tipping policy is a nice touch too. I highly recommend!

I'm not one for internet reviews generally, but TKO is amazing and you should put it at the top of places to try if you haven't yet visited. The roasted cauliflower was otherworldly, a must-order. But everything was so delicious. We also had the steamed bun with braised ham (so tender) and pickles, the egg roll (ham, cabbage and onion with a super tasty pineapple sweet and sour), the twice-cooked pork ribs (perfectly cooked with a delicious accompaniment of greens and peanuts), and the fried chicken with orange sweet and sour glaze (we are fighting over who gets to eat the leftover piece, it's a trifecta of crunchy outside, moist inside, and subtle citrus). Portions are generous and the small and large plates alike are easy to share, so order a wide variety and pass it around. The dessert is also incredible; we basically inhaled some bite-sized cornmeal buttermilk donuts and a steamed chocolate cake. I forgot my ID - so sad - but the cocktails looked delicious and they have a nice beer selection. TKO is a bright, warm, and open space with plenty of seating and a takeout area. The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly and inviting. Let's face it, that can be a rarity in new Nashville spots these days. Is anyone even still reading this? If so, please go visit!

We ordered it all (everything) and it was all absolutely amazing. Beautifully plated, exquisitely flavored and still filled with soul like all southern cooking should have. One of the best food experiences ever! Can't wait to go back!!

We are super happy to have this place at the end of our street! We dined here during their first week open. Service was great. Small but well curated drink selection. The food tasted great. My only suggestion would be to serve white rice with the stir fried shrimp dish. We will be back soon!

Oh man this was delicious! So many complex flavors and it looked perfect, even in takeout containers. The egg rolls were the size of a newborn baby and cannot be missed, and the hot mustard is legitimate hot mustard. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

The food is excellent. Their Bourbon chicken fried rice is the best fried rice I've ever had in my life.

You can't go wrong with the short inventive menu at TKO. The menu changes often (sometimes daily) based on what is fresh and available. The Peach Bao Bun was a particular treat during this visit. The well thought out drink menu also never disappoints

This place is consistently delicious. The chicken and rice dishes are the best. My favorite takeout on the east side.

TKO is comfort food for me. I love getting takeout after a long trip out of state, or when I just need a reliably good meal. It can be expensive and it’s not traditional Chinese (not sure why everyone’s reviews are so stuck up about that part.) Always get the sweet and sour chicken, any special veggie sides, and the kids buttered noodles are so delicious as a palate cleanser - not what it’s meant for but i love em.

Can’t go wrong with taco rice, especially when it’s topped with Doritos. This was the best place I’ve eaten out in a long while.

TKO is the best take away in East Nashville. It somehow only get's better every time we order.

I’ll make the trek from the West End for TKO. Really on point and bold flavors in all the dishes. I am looking forward to returning frequently.

Great authentic Chinese food... hard to find and a bit dark- but don't let that stop you... food is fresh and made to order right in front of you in their open kitchen

TKO was great! They are super accommodating for dietary restrictions and very knowledgeable. We got the potatoes (delicious!), the bourbon chicken fried rice (had plenty to take home), and the TKO chicken (so tasty!).

We had the eggrolls, TKO Chicken, and Volcano Beef. They were all delicious and had a definite unique spin. Not your average takeout, and their menu is full of wry humor. But. The Volcano Beef had 4 pieces of beef. For a $17 meal. I don't usually nitpick portion sizes, but this was an extreme case. Luckily the potatoes and cabbage left over were excellent, and the sauce, but I'm still shaking my head. I had to deduct a star from what would otherwise be an enthusiastic 5. 😕 The TKO chicken seemed to be a typical portion size though. And we definitely enjoyed our meals. And will try again to see if this was a fluke.

I've eaten here a few times now and I am always impressed. Cocktails are always good. Sweet n Sour chicken is perfect. If you aren't a picky eater get the Secret Fried Rice. It's been different every time, but always delicious. I have done take out as well and it holds up great.
