I wish I could edge my rating up to a 4.5, because this place was definitely better than a 4. I stopped for breakfast as part of checking out new (to me) places in my community and found a new favorite. In addition to standard diner fare, they had crepes of both savory and sweet varieties, so I had to give that a try along with my usual bacon, eggs, and pancakes. And, because they looked amazing, I added on one of their house-made biscuits as well. Everything was great from. The service to the food. Why not 5 stars? Well, it was that biscuit. Perfect, probably, if I would have slathered it in gravy, it was just too dense with the butter and jam I put on. Frankly, the light and fresh crepe and fluffy, flavorful pancakes set my expectations a little high. If you are in town and the Classic Cafe is open, stop. You'll be glad you did and your stomach will be happy for hours.

Lovely diner with delicious food. Great staff and service. The homemade hollandaise sauce is one of the best we've ever had.

I have a breakfast house in nearly every city that I worked in. This one is the best place within a 35 mile radius. I had the Joe's scramble they use apples sausage instead of ground beef it was brutal. For me I don't really care for cheese and eggs it should have told them no cheese. The last time I was here I had the same thing LOL told him no cheese and was the best Joe's scramble I've ever eaten next to he got back next to original Joe's and San Francisco or my kitchen of course. Is he living in a perfect day at plaza Cafe

Very friendly staff, great selection of items for breakfast and lunch, cute outdoor seating, and reasonable prices. We got fruit crapes and one of their breakfast scrambles. They were both very delicious.

Not fast food, so don't expect fast service, especially if they are busy. Good place to relax and have breakfast, small town charm, small town cafe. The crepe was good and the home fries filling, the pancakes fluffy, the coffee was strong. My only gripe is the $$$ for breakfast, $50 for a couple dishes and coffee, so one star removed.

Looking for the BEST breakfast in Nevada City? Look no further. We visit Nevada City 2-3 times a year to get away from the city and noise and enjoy some fresh air, some great hiking, the charm of this great town and always some great eating. For breakfast we have discovered (via trial and error over the years) that Nevada City Classic Cafe is the best! They accommodate requests with ease and grace and make the best crepes I have had outside of France. I normally do not order crepes in the US but these are fantastic. I highly recommend the Paris Crepe as well as Genevieve's Special. Need it gluten-free? No problem, they have your back with buckwheat crepes. Special shout out to Caley who always manages to be our server. She is sweet, attentive and always a joy to see. All the ladies and the kitchen gents always make it a great experience!
