While on a road trip we stayed at the beautiful Wentworth by The Sea and being it was autumn the only restaurant open on the property was Salt Kitchen and Bar. We actually had dinner & breakfast here. For dinner we chose their more casual menu since we were debating on going out into town. We shared lobster bisque soup which was very good and the muscles cooked in Oktoberfest which was also good and then we decided we weren't going out so we ordered a lobster roll which was stuffed beyond capacity with delicious lobster and the cavatelli pasta in a cream sauce with mushrooms and chicken which was also tasty but it laid extremely heavy. For dessert we shared the snickerdoodle crème brûlée which really was just OK we would've been better off skipping it. Our bartender was great though table service was lacking.
We have eaten at many Marriott buffets and this was probably one of the best. Everything was cooked prefect, delicious eggs, sausage with snap, home frie medley & presented pleasantly. Their delicious pastries were made in house; moist flavorful muffins, cinnamon rolls, apple bear claws & chocolate bacon donuts. Perfect size omelets cooked to order. The chef was cooking omelets, refreshing chafing dishes & arranging lox plates. Though once again the table service was extremely subpar.
We recently celebrated a special day and the choice of venue was the Salt Kitchen and Bar at the Wentworth by The Sea in New Castle. For several weeks leading up to the event, there were many details that needed to be finalized and it was my wife’s responsibility to make sure that everything went smoothly. I was confident that all would be fine but she was wringing her hands with worry up until the very end.
