Best place for oysters, go for the happy hour like we did for the best price. The chef was also accommodating and steamed 5 oysters at our request. We had both raw and steamed oysters and they were great. Also tried calamari ( not pictured) and it was also great along with the happy hour drinks.

Good seafood, nice atmosphere, very pleasant waitress. Lots of good dishes on the menu. Fish & Chips had fresh, lightly fried Cod but fries were pretty plain. Sea Bass was very tasty. Oysters were too big and not so delicate.

Very good service and awesome food! The waiter was extremely helpful and accommodating. She told us that they were in the midst of changing their menu, so there was salmon available but it could be done to my preference. I only wanted the the soba as a side but the chef even included mango. Overall, the experience was one of the best I’ve had in New Haven.

Nice restaurant and good location. We ordered 1 dozen oysters, calamari and shishitos. Both calamari and peppers were good we really enjoyed it but we're disappointed with oysters, they didnt cut the muscel (thats ok) some were dirty (maybe you should rinse) and 1 oyster missing the meat 😂 just the muscel on the shell. Oh with a slice of lemon for 12 oyster plus we had to spit the cracked shell after we slurped ?!? I am oyster lover but this is the worst oyster experience for me.

I went to my first speed dating event held by Futa and Joy was a very energetic experience for me. Majority of the women were very beautiful and held great conversation. The staff was very pleasant and courteous. I am looking forward to my next speed dating in July.

Was visiting family. I am in from Florida so this was my first time at this restaurant and I was very impressed with my scallop dish. It had the most wonderful flavor and was very fresh. The service was outstanding and we felt very comfortable inside where we were seated. I will be returning on my next trip.

I very much enjoyed sampling the mushrooms arancini, spicy tuna and a dozen Blueprint oysters as appetizers.. make sure you ask for the horseradish.. I would highly recommend the Black Ink Seafood Pasta.. yum!! 😋

The food all tasted great, although I thought my lobster roll was overpriced (include a small salad with it maybe?). This is somewhat minor, but still annoying: the waitress brought the check about 90 seconds after bringing our dessert. Can I finish my dessert first please? I felt pushed out which is a really disappointing way to end a good meal.

This restaurant steps up the foodie scene in New Haven. They have an excellent happy hour complete with a wonderful selection of fresh, raw oysters not to be rivaled by any other restaurant in the area. The presentation is top notch complete with delicious minoette sauce and tiny bottles of Tabasco. I used to have to go into NYC or Newport to get a similar selection. The wait staff is wonderful, the bartenders are great and happy to oblige any drink request. Oh and the food, I have not been disappointed yet. Brunch on the weekend is a delight.

I was here on Friday for dinner and the food, service and atmosphere brought me back for Happy Hour on Sunday! The oysters and oyster shooters were the absolute best that I have ever had! They also make an amazing crab cake!

The food was amazing from the apps (Brussel sprouts, shishito peppers, and lobster bisque) to the entrees (gnocchi, short ribs, and mussels in red curry). I love the concept of the wine on tap. And the SERVICE (by Karen) was the best I've had in New Haven. She was attentive, knowledgable, pleasant, and truly made us feel special. We will be back without a doubt!

Food was delicious. They have a fairly limited menu but was out of a regular menu appetizer at 6:30pm. The espresso machine was not working. Service was slow and spotty but staff friendly.

Beautiful restaurant. A place that New Haven hasn't seen before. I enjoyed the popcorn shrimp, the cod and their dessert which blew me away. Also their bread with leek butter and espresso are amazing! This place took me back to Europe for sure. Good job guys!!

We were shocked by the tiny size of the $11 bread pudding dessert. We ordered 3 desserts, one fish burger and 3 cappuccinos and the bill was over $72 not including tip. Ridiculous!

My fourth visit to Florian secured its rating as my favorite restaurant in New Haven. The staff, food, drinks and atmosphere are all tops. The Brussel sprouts, soshito peppers and oysters are perfection.
