I've had the pleasure of eating from here a few times. (Thanks to my mother! She put me on to this soul food spot!) This past Sunday was the most recent visit. It says a lot when you drive from Bridgeport to New Haven just so you can get a plate of soul food especially on a Sunday afternoon. Lol. I love the fact that you get a decent portion of food and the food variety. Also, the atmosphere is great and the staff seems friendly. Meatloaf and Mac and cheese are absolutely to die for. There are so many good things to eat here. Collard greens, Sweet Yams. My other favorite is the Smothered porkchop with rice. The only thing that upsets me is that they only have meatloaf on Wednesdays. This is such a great place to eat. Fantastic food, great atmosphere to eat. Definitely my favorite soul food place to eat right next to Grandmas home cooking. You have to come here. They'll have you coming back for more and even ordering seconds (ps, try the Pineapple coconut cake. I have to get one every time I come)

Food and service was beyond spectacular! I look forward to stopping through again. 2.5 hour drive from Boston...worth every minute. The chicken, greens, macaroni and cheese, corn bread, ribs sweet tea, fruit punch ON MY MY MY DELICIOUS! And the owner is down to earth, friendly and inspirational. Thanks for having us. I will be back as promised, to bring my grandmother.
