Great lunch option in the French Market area of New Orleans. As this was my first tine here, and as a vegetarian, I opted for the 1/2 portion with f the veggie muffuletta and it was delicious.
There was a fairly longer-than-expected wait after placing my order (no customers were awaiting orders at the time), but that’s a minor criticism. The service was sufficient and the food was satisfying. Would recommend this experience as one of the many great culinary options in the city.
Muffeletta is my favorite sandwich. Alberto's was top ranked, so I wanted to grab one while I was in the area. Parking for the French market was rough. Expensive too. It's an open air market, super touristy and the prices reflect that. I paid $8 for a quarter sandwich. The taste was phenomenal. I gotta say though, a little short on meat... But now I can say I ate a muffaletta in the French quarter.
Wonderful gluten free muffuletta! I ordered a 1/4 size, which was a whole sandwich on GF bread. It was toasted and was mostly veggies, which I appreciated. Melted cheese and some cured meats that didn't overwhelm the sandwich.
I normally wouldn't write a review about a sandwich but this was such an amazing sandwich it was worth noting. The beet and warm goat cheese sandwich with spinach and balsamic on toasted multigrain bread was fantastic. I chose the stand because I saw veggie options and I was in the french market. If I come to NOLA again there will be a deliberate return visit.
Alberto’s was recommended in a huge travel group. We went there for mufaletta. It was prepared fresh and hot. And so tasty!
We've been coming here for years for their Irish Coffee, and they never disappoint! The lady taking the order removers us, no matter how long it is between visits. Tom Fitzmorris always taught me if we like a place, become a regular. When you do, it's amazing how the whole structure tilts towards you.
The corollary, I suppose, is the classic Dr. Bob edict, "Be nice or leave." These folks work so hard to keep their clientele satisfied!
Really good gluten-free sandwiches, I tried the Muffuleta and Po boy's sandwiches and both were really delicious, you can taste that they use good quality and tasty ingredients!
Not large or fancy but good solid wine, cheese and food. A small stand inside the French Market with great selections of cheese. The muffuletta is very good. When in the French Market it is definitely worth a stop for a glass of wine and something to eat.
The vegan / vegetarian muffuletta knocked our socks off - delicious as hell. It’s great watching the world go by while sitting in the market eating it too!
You do have to order a whole half (instead of 1/4) if you get this veggie option, so you’d better be hungry or have a friend to share it with! And there’s so much garlic, which we loved but if that’s not your thing, ask for less!
I discovered this place on a food tour. Although we didn’t stop here the guide advised us to come back and so we did. I ordered the Asiago Beef sandwich gluten free and was not disappointed. It was so good! All sandwiches can be made gluten free and mine came toasted. I’m just sorry I didn’t visit this place until the last day of my holiday
