This is probably my new favorite spot in town. Such an amazing atmosphere, the staff is beyond friendly. Cheeses were delicious, drinks were great, and overall was a perfect experience. I went on a Monday in the afternoon and there was a good amount of people. Definitely going back whenever they have live music, which seems to be daily during the evening. Fully recommended, doesn’t matter if you are a local or a tourist, this place is a must.
I LOVE this place! I’d been wanting to visit for a while and I wasn’t disappointed. The wine, the cocktails, the food and the service was all on point. I love the option of choosing the cheese for your own cheese platter. Our bartender was awesome enough to create a different drink for me since I didn’t really wanna try from their regular menu.
This place is awesome. Good wine and drink selection. Really nice outdoor seating area (just prepare for the bugs to come out - they do supply bug spray). Didnt stay long enough to see the music but i bet that really adds to the vibe. My favorite part was the choose your own cheese board where you select your cheese from the fridge and they plate your selections. They do not skimp on the bread!
Amazing ambiance. Super friendly staff. We were here for brunch on a Sunday, the live music was perfect. Do yourself a favor and order the charcuterie board. You can pick your own meats/cheeses and they plate it for you in the most perfect of ways. Really a wonderful spot. Go there!!!!!
This place is so cute! The outdoor patio with live music is the perfect place to meet friends for a drink - even in the heat of the New Orleans summer it was perfectly pleasant. The bites were delicious! We loved the gazpacho and the shrimp dip but the highlight was the build your own charcuterie board! It’s so cute - you go into the shop and pick out these adorable little individually wrapped cheeses and meat and they plate it for you. The pimento cheese was my favorite! It was a perfect place to start our night (headed to Frenchman’s after)
My one complaint is the payment system - you have to pay for the food and the drinks and the charcuterie board separately which is kind of a hassle. Nevertheless, this is definitely going on our permanent list!
Away from the French quarter, a place where locals go. Bar staff were amazing at recommending drinks, good prices and even let you taste wines before selecting! Prawns and Patatas Bravas were excellent.
We had a great time and I loved the concept. No frills, good wine selection, great cheeses, self service, the backyard. I’d love to go back to give a more thoughtful overview but generically speaking it was one of the highlight of our trip. Music could have been more interesting and I’d have loved to see oysters as an option.
We absolutely love this place and come every time we are in Nola. If you want to get any from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter this is your place. They have live music every night and the wine list is amazing. We highly recommend.
Fantastic atmosphere, very knowledgeable bartenders, and great local live music! Stop by to get a drink with a friend before a parade. Wonderful selection to choose from, and then bartender was very helpful. Can't wait to go back again!
Had such a lovely experience here! Food was very tasty! Make sure to bring enough friends to help you finish the cheese plate. 😂 Only downside is that it is self service for utensils, glasses, napkins, etc. So just dont be a jerk and settle in with what you need and clean up when you leave!
We had 2 wine bottles. Both of them are good. But one them became our favorite. Its so smooth. Sooo good. The best was Patatas. Must try. Its a fried potatoes.
Went on a slow Monday evening for a couple of drinks at the upstairs bar. Elegant and chic without pretense or ostentation. Solid everything, bar tender, Lu, is a treasure. Large, shaded patio is an oasis and like most places in NoLa they have live jazz bands.
This place is extraordinary! The ambience and the atmosphere are gorgeous, the bands are perfect, the tables and layout are spacious.
The food is not cheap, and you have to go to a counter to order it, but it is *stunningly* delicious - I will be dreaming about the strawberry gazpacho soup for weeks.
It would definitely be way more expensive if there were more waiting staff. It was actually really chill just spending the evening enjoying our meal and conversation without hovering servers, even if once in a while one of us had to go upstairs and wait in line for a drink.
It’s a little confusing figuring out the system though, so for the socially anxious or stoned, here’s how it works:
- you might or might not be greeted and seated, depending on how busy it is
- if there’s a table, sit down and note the number
- you order food at the counter downstairs with your table number and it’s brought to you
- you get your own drinks at the bar upstairs
- if you want a cheese board, you pick out and buy some cheese from a huge selection in the shop fridge (where you came in from) and they then assemble it with bread, pickles and sauces for you! This is the first and only time I’ve had this service at a restaurant and I have to say it is GENIUS and I want it everywhere.
check out this gem in the outside of d city. Great wine selection to choose from…
Great band playing to smooth the atmosphere, with the lights around the massive trees…. It’s a most go when u visit the magical city.
This place was far less upscale than I had expected, which is no downside in my book. I didn't have a chance to explore all the wine possibilities, but from my quick glance, they seemed to have a large and cultured selection.
The tapas were delicious, although they needed to work on their patatas bravas, those are not correct, the potatoes or the sauce. However, for a louisiana skewed version of the dish, they still didn't taste bad, just not correct.
The bacon covered dates were delicious, as were the lamb meatballs.
The live band was skilled and a joy to listen to, and the staff was courteous. I would prefer if the bar was also accessible by a qr code at the table so you can avoid the stairs to the second floor.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience. If you like self-service and good wine, this is the place for you.
Bacchanal makes you forget that you are in a city. Suddenly, it feels as many groups of people decided to go to a bar in a beach to eat light food and listen to music while drinking wine. The atmosphere is great and will vary depending on the band playing. We also liked the cheese, bread ans snacks to share that we ordered.
The people here are so kind and helpful, the cheese plates and plating service itself is AMAZING, the wine selection is larger than I’d expected and I definitely recommend grabbing a bite to eat here! Plus you can’t beat the EVERY DAY music!
Totally enjoyed the vibe here. Bar at the top of the stairs is a bit of an accessibility issue but an amazing space with wonderful cocktails. Do have the chocolate bark!
Great music and vibes. Food is solid as well. Shrimp dip is really great and so is salad and gazpacho. Steak also not to miss. I think the move here though is to pick your cheeses and salume and have them make a beautiful charcuterie plate. Will be coming back
