I really enjoyed the Christmas prix fixe menu! Everything was so delicious. My favorites were the egg nog ice cream, oyster & biscuit dressing, potato gnocchi, porchetta, winter vegetable risotto, and the Christmas themed carrot & beet salad. The service and staff were incredible! Merry Christmas!

Splendid lunch. Small plates included the tuna, and shrimp with jalapeno, cilantro, avocado. Mains were the curried goat with sweet potato gnocchi and Sharon had the drum with apple, fennel, collards. Had a side of Brussel sprouts. Everything clicked. Pacing perfect. Service beyond attentive. We were able to linger and I enjoyed viewing the dining area lined with a colorful array of Michalopoulos art. Great value as well. Strongly recommend the luncheon service.

This place was fantastic! Far and away the best meal I’ve had in months. Great ambiance. I had the Copper Bunny cocktail which was great. My friend had the curry goat and I had the skate special with whit asparagus purée and black truffles. Both were soooooo good!

Amazing - simply amazing! As high-end small plate restaurants go, this was amazing! We pretty much sampled everything on the menu. Please please get everything - you won't regret it!

I was in New Orleans on business from the UK. My wife recommended this place (she’s from St. Lucia) and it didn’t disappoint. Great cocktails, good food and great service!

Spectacular! The seven Bajans in my crew had followed Nina Compton through Top Chef and we’re thrilled to visit Compere Lapin while in New Orleans (let me be honest.. my St Lucian husband insisted that report back!)... And the experience did not disappoint!!! Food was amazing and service on point!!! Thank You!!!

Lovely meal. I often seek out restaurants with women head chefs. Great flavors. Simple menu, but everything is good. Definitely recommend.

Went on a special dinner night with Community Coffee as part of the WYES series.

Loved the space. 4.5 stars. Enjoyed most of the dishes presented for the evening which included a beef carpaccio, Agnolotti with sweetbreads, trout and an Espresso sorbet over pots de creme with coffee.

The first two dishes exploded with flavor but the trout, although fresh, was bland in presentation and flavor. Devoid of any distinctive impression on the palate.

Dessert with a cup of Community Evangeline blend were a fitting finale and will come back to try on a date night as this was a one time menu.

Best known as Runner Up and Fan Favorite from Top Chef Season 11, Chef Nina Compton brings flavours from her Saint Lucian home to the fore at her Warehouse District restaurant, Compère Lapin, providing dinners with a delicious double take update on Creole concept cooking. Situated in the lobby of The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery, my hotel for the first half of my NOLA dining adventure, Compère Lapin was only few month’s old, all the rage, and absolutely hopping (jeu de mots) during my stay. Not to try it as one of my 18 Eats, would have been remiss. Beside every time I passed the restaurant on my way in or out of the hotel, the lure of the aromas wafting out of its kitchen grew more irresistible.

Went here for brunch . Food was amazing. Check out the pictures. Everything was delicious. I just wished the service would be as good as the food . Maybe we just had a rude waiter but overall it ruined the experience. Location and decor are very nice.

An absolute delight. Everything we tasted was seasoned perfectly, and the environment was so relaxing. I would recommend the steak tartare and the roasted carrots, but everything else we tasted was definitely delicious as well.

My absolutely favorite restaurant in New Orleans. It's really hard to choose which small plates to get, so just get all of them. Especially the goat with gnocchi. The wine selection is wonderful and the staff is just as great. Can't wait to try the brunch.

I would definitely recommend this place to everyone! Creative seating, the flavors were spot on. The food amount to cost ratio was not the best value I have had, but I would come here again! The duo of beef is great but prepare yourself for what seems like a SMALL portion size that packs a lot of punch. It's probably about 6 ounces total. We had the tartare which came highly recommended and we can see why! We also had the hamachi appetizer. It was a creative dish with some surprises (won't ruin it for you) but I wish the hamachi slices were a little thicker. I probably would not order that again since the value for the portion was a little too low.

The biscuits are unreal. The beet salad was wonderful. Cocktails great. The hot seafood pot is one of the most intriguing soups I have ever had. Have not even had the entree yet but executive the best. Great place

Great food! Brussels sprouts were insanely good and the shrimp were massive. Got the pici pasta with lobster which was awesome and hubby got the grouper which was amazing too. Flavors are so perfectly balanced in all the dishes. Expected a little more of an explanation/introduction to the restaurant from our server but she was nice and knowledgable of the food. I think only negative was that the main courses took forever to come out!!! Our 8 year old was dying because we got her food out with our first courses. Mistake. Will definitely recommend though. Decor and atmosphere and cocktails were great too.

Chef Nina Compton is Caribbean native that was one of the top Top Chef contestants on the Bravo TV Channel. Although she didn’t get the top spot, her success lead to her recent endeavor: Compère Lapin. With her Caribbean roots and background in French cuisine, she’s created a menu that’s unlike any other in New Orleans. My fiancé and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Compère and it was impressive!

Great casual environment with upscale food and attentive, quick service. The buttermilk biscuits with the bacon and sweet butter was amazing. Biscuit was moist and tasted great even without the butter. The pork belly? Man, one of the best things I ever tasted, though I wish it was served a few degrees warmer. But the pork belly was so tender, juicy, and flavorful, and had a good amount of heat that sticks with you. It melts in your mouth. I was underwhelmed by the fried chicken, however; the sweet glaze was a little too sweet for my tastes and the batter to chicken ratio was completely off. The chicken I did get was juicy, tender, and flavorful, but I wish there was either more of the chicken or less of the batter. Some bites were just pure batter crunch and kind of distracting. The perfect fried chicken to me has a thin, yet commanding crunch, so I just wish they used significantly less batter. The chocolate cake was good, but it was paired with a Cajun-spiced granola. Ambitious attempt, but the flavor and texture combination absolutely didn’t work for me, but perhaps my palette isn’t sophisticated enough to appreciate it. Overall I’d give the place a 4.5, but since I can’t do that, I will round up to 5 for the excellent food and great service.

Before I say anything about the food, let me tell you - the staff here will make you feel at home. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful and our server Tori was exceptional explaining with incredible detail each and every dish of the menu. The chef does an outstanding job mixing Caribbean flavors with otherwise “normal” dishes ensuring an out-of-body experience. No kidding. My wife and I got here ahead of the reservation and got seated right away. The food came very timely and everything was incredible - best biscuit I’ve ever had, best mango salad I’ve ever had, best fried chicken I’ve ever had. They change their menu frequently but no fear - everything is delicious.

Cute spot with great atmosphere. Our waitress was super nice and helpful. We got the biscuits (were ok) with the honey butter (10/10) and bacon butter to start. And then the papaya salad at the recommendation of our waitress. Slightly spicy but overall a great salad. Fried chicken was a bit too salty and the goat curry was not to our taste. Cute spot though!

I like this place a lot! It is a beautifully decorated restaurant with friendly staff. The bartenders are mixologist and I used their knowledge to craft a wonderful bourbon mixed drink. The hushpuppies, biscuits and gumbo were all good….yes I know that’s not a well balanced meal…but it taste good!

Absolutely perfect brunch experience! I can't say enough about the service at the restaurant. From the opening hostess greeting until we left everyone was super friendly and attentive. The manager probably refilled my water glass ten times, never letting it hit empty. Hey, it was hot out!! The tater tots with caviar were the perfect morning starter to help get me over the hump from the night before. Then shrimp and grits were absolutely outstanding! The perfect balance, little heat and five large head-on shrimp. A very good value as well. The blue fin tuna bagel with calabrian cream cheese was also fantastic. It was definitely spicy! I look forward to returning for brunch but also to try dinner. I can't imagine it being nothing but superb!

Great restaurant. I liked it. Surprisingly, the fried chicken was excellent. The fish was good too. Even with a limited menu it was nice. I think the chef was in top chef(?). I might be wrong. Everything on the picture were good!

We tried CL as a part of Nola's COOLinary. The atmosphere was inviting, nice old school music was playing, the staff was very attentive and they kept the water glasses filled. Every thing we tried was packed with flavors, whether complex or simple we loved the mix and spin on some traditional dishes. We only had one qualm and it was with the fried chicken. It was more crust than actual chicken. However, the flavors were really good, just needed more chicken. The bread pudding was amazing! One of the best I've ever had and I've had many all over NOLA. Overall, we had a really good experience.

This was our best dining experience while in New Orleans and it wasn’t just the delicious food! This place is beautiful and as you’ve probably gathered by looking at images, not really geared for small children BUT the staff was so great. Our server was extremely friendly, attentive, and understanding even when my daughter dropped her chair to the floor 🫣 the food was delicious, I had the pig ears and fish croquettes to start, then her and I shared the hanger steak. But the real star of the show was the crème brûlée, wow it was amazing. Hands down the best one I’ve ever had! Highly recommend, I’m sure the drinks are spectacular too. Just note, try to find street parking if possible, I paid an ungodly amount to park across the street!

I loved literally everything!!! I walked in thinking it was going to be a French restaurant which i was very wrong about haha. Though, the food was outstanding. I ordered a bottle of Riesling which as the Wine Director Laura pointed out really did pair well with everything I ordered. Her and I also had a lovely conversation about wine, I always love talking about wine with others. I thought it was funny though how I was able to navigate my way through their really vast wine list which a lot of people have trouble with (with most wine lists), then again I study wine so I kinda know what I want, but I seriously needed my waiters help figuring out what I should eat since the food was Caribbean and very foreign to me. It tasted amazing though! The vibe of the place was very nice as well with a band playing. Everything was really perfect.
