Fantastic... from the energetic wait staff with the personal attentive care. They were all so welcoming & informative of all the menu selections. The breakfast food was out of this world... my husband had the (lots of) Crawfish dish with creamy, yummy grits & a poached egg to top it off perfectly! I had the (plentiful) BBQ Shrimp on a charred sourdough bread bed with a New Orleans style sauce that covered & enhanced the whole Delish dish! We also had a warm biscuit like no other, served with a butter and jam accompaniment! More Yum! Every bite was so tasty, just one great food experience It was our last day before we traveled hm to Delaware's Eastern shore & I'm sorry we never found it earlier. We'll hope to go back to partake in the rest of this foody lovers menu & the down Home feel of Willa Jean establishment. Might need to get in on the happy hour fun some time! Overall the whole place just had a great air about it! Also, Shannon so great to meet you & thank you for your advice & leading me/us to this Lil' Gem of a place... the experience was such a good one! Cheers and bon appetite!

We came here on our last night in New Orleans just looking for dessert. The staff was very friendly, all smiling faces. They recommended the "Milk and Cookies" which were very good. For $10, you get 3 generous-sized cookies, a cup of vanilla milk, and a bit of cookie dough. It was all phenomenal, and the staff was even nice enough to give my wife a cup of vanilla milk to go. We'll definitely be back the next time we visit New Orleans!

If you haven’t been here yet, get there ASAP. Food is unbelievable. Service is excellent. Atmosphere is chill. So we started off with artichoke dip. Served in a ceramic pot, huge chunks of artichoke in the “cheese business” as Willa Jean calls it, crusted melted mozzarella on top, garlic, oh my god. I had a fried chicken sandwich for my entree, served with slaw on a Hawaiian bun. Chicken was crispy and moist, the slaw wasn’t overdressed so you could still taste the cabbage, and the bun was soft and just a little sweet. And for dessert we had to try their signature cookies and milk. Three warm, soft, melty, DELICIOUS chocolate chip cookies, cookie dough in an egg beater, and vanilla infused milk. No words. Just, duuuuude.

I don’t think there is a bad thing here. We tried the sausage and gravy biscuits, the pimento chesse, sausage and biscuit, the King cake, and some Lebowski cafe (white Russian with espresso).

We passed Willa Jean a bunch of time walking and passed on a >60 min brunch wait, but our dinner was great. The frozen creamsicle drink was good, worthy of the previously seen accolades. My GF's iced chai was also VG. To start we had the Pimento cheese with country ham pickles which was excellent.  Our order of potato-ham croquettes, that left us asking: what ham? The steak frites was very good, a perfect med rare with thin crispy fries. The BLT-A had large pieces of great flavored bacon.and was served with a side of fries. For dessert we tried the "As seen on TV" Chocolate chip cookies with vanilla milk. The cookies were great, warm baked, chewy and sweet served with one beater of raw cookie dough that reminded me of my childhood. $116 for two of us with drinks and dessert.

My best friend and I were going to New Orleans to see our final Saenger show for the season, so she and I decided to make a day of it in New Orleans. First stop, Willa Jean. She got the hangover bowl, and I ordered the chicken and biscuits. Both were absolutely delicious. I’ve always wanted to visit Willa Jean, but the times I’ve been in New Orleans, it’s been packed before the football games. Luckily, we made a reservation for breakfast, and we enjoyed a delicious experience. The servers were so friendly, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxing and fun. I’d definitely visit again!

Visited this place for lunch with not much expectations!! :)

However, the restaurant was full when we landed up there and everyone seems to be enjoying what they were eating.. This gave positive vibes!! :D

We ordered Salad and Chicken Sliders!! It was served with fries!! :D Like all other places, the slider was too heavy to finish easily!!! :)

I would highly recommend this place..!! :D

Happy Sliderin' ^_^

During our time in New Orleans we dined at Willa Jean.  Willa Jean is located in the New Orleans Business District. Willa Jean is a Southern Inspired restaurant and Bakery. The restaurant dishes include local and fresh ingredients. The restaurant and bakery serves both breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the week and  brunch on the weekend.

Simply the best brunch I have had in a long time. John Besh has done it again with another unique restaurant. Everything is baked in house around the clock. Service is on the mark too! Plenty of street parking and a garage across the street. I made a 915am reservation just to cover my butt. By 10am all tables were occupied and a line began to form by the door. I had the buttered crab roll, light & fluffy, stuffed w/lump crabmeat.

The pimento cheese plate and grilled fish sandwich were fantastic. The location and decor are great, perfect for quick lunch. The acoustics need some work, though.

My favorite part is the pastry counter. Wonderful place to pick up some pastries, nice coffee drinks, etc. Pretty space. Brand new building. High ceilings. Spacious. A good energy about it. And a place to get a fairly reasonably priced good meal in the CBD. Sandwiches. Roasted chicken. Hanger steak. Really loved the mac & cheese side. This is the type place you can go to regularly for a good meal - and without it killing your wallet.

Everything is delicious here! It’s easy to stop in for a coffee and baked good, or have a seat and really get into the menu. I’ve come here several times now and it never disappoints. I’m making my way down their biscuit selection and the shrimp and grits has a lot of flavor. I’d recommend making a reservation or planning to get your food to go and eating at one of the outside tables. This place can definitely get busy.

Service was professional and friendly. We arrived for brunch and started with cocktails. And purchasing pie and cookies for later. Brunch was flavorful. The grain bowl was hearty, hot and plenty. The grits had a flavorful gravy with lots of flavor. And the short rib breakfast bowl very filling. Absolutely get the corn bread with whipped butter.

***NO MILITARY DISCOUNT*** We came back for a second time! Coconut cake is delicious and huge! All 4 of us had to share this delight. Moist, sweet, and light. Just Yummy all the way around. I had the shrimp and grits. The Jumbo shrimp were plump and juicy. The sauce wasn't bold but mildly delicious. GRITS were cooked to perfection!

This was recommended by a few friends and everyone had raved about it. We ordered a couple of items, but nothing blew us away. The only thing we’d order again is maybe the coconut cake, everything else was mediocre. The vibe of the restaurant was nice and the service was also good.
