Met four friends for dinner before a concert at the Saenger. Got a lovely long table under the first Francis Pavy painting on the right. Since he's a friend I took it as a good sign. And it turned out I was right.
We had a great waiter who was very attentive. The restaurant was busy and boisterous, buzzing with happy energy. It's a fun place for a group.
We ordered several small plates to share with the table, all were delicious. With the meat/cheese plate the pickled golden raisins were a stand out! Loved the summer squash w figs & honey ricotta and the huge head of roasted cauliflower was amazing.
For entrees the gulf fish was superb, the beef bavette very tender and flavorful.
Overall we were all happy and satisfied. We had a great time here.
In fact we enjoyed it so much, the next day just my husband and I went back after the Pats/Saints game. Sat at the bar with Nick as our server - he was so nice. BONUS: Happy Hour 2-5 everyday half price pizzas, beer & wine. So we proceeded to chow down on two very delicious pies, So yummy and the price made it even better! Highly recommend Domenica!
We went there for my wife’s birthday dinner and it was a wonderful experience. We were not very hungry(having eaten the amazing creole cuisine for lunch), so we settled for some cheese and appetizer plates, shared a pizza and drank some wine. The cheese plates and the accompaniments were exquisite. I ordered the Bonarda wine from Argentina and it was refreshing. I’ve never had bonarda before and it was a treat. The pizza was amazing as well, thin crust, great sauce with the right amount of cheese. We finished with a banana cake which was my wife’s favorite. We weren’t planning to eat as much as we ate, but the food was so good and the service was great, we ended up making ourselves sick. So we took a long walk to Cafe Du Monde to top off with benege and coffee and waddled our way back to the hotel. After all it’s a birthday dinner and being a little full shouldn’t stop you from having fun !!!
The most AMAZING Kale dish I have ever eaten! Drinks were on point and consistent each time. Our waiter was professional, quick, and educated on the menu. The kids loved the pizza! Big thumbs up!
This place is AWESOME! The food is by far the BEST Italian food I have had in a very long time! You can tell everything is made with the finest ingredients because the flavors just pop in your mouth! The staff was very friendly and I enjoyed every minute of my meal. The ONLY criticism I have is that a martini should be served in a martini glass and not a wine glass.
Loved the food and the small plate portion size. The food tasted so fresh and flavorful. They were packed but service was great. I’ll definitely go back!
We managed to go during happy hour which you don’t get a lot of on weekends. The bellinis and the white pizza was amazing. We also had a great view of the street. I highly recommend it.
The atmosphere was wonderful, food was great! Best pizza hands down! You can't beat their happy hour, half price pizza and beer. Will definitely visit again on my next trip over to New Orleans!
Beautiful location, good service and very good food. We are from Florida and went on a recommendation from my boss. Everyone in our party was able to find something delicious, even had vegan options. I would recommend reservations. We were lucky that someone canceled theirs and we were able to get in. I would absolutely go back
My all time favorite restaurant in New Orleans! The food is immaculate. It's the perfect wine & dine date night spot. My personal favs are the pâté and the squid ink blue crab pasta !
We been enamored with this place since it opened ! It's our goto spot for it's great ambiance, magnificent service and, awesome food.
Ask for Nick,he's the bees knees !
The cauliflower is to die for with the butter. We had cocktails and pizzas that were great also. We went for the Jingle parade which was right outside. Couldn't beat the location or the food and drink.
Wonderful place! Great food and atmosphere. Our server did an excellent job of keeping us happy.
My husband and I went there before our show at the Saenger. Of course we got the roasted cauliflower and shared the Tutto Carne pizza. Everything was delicious and Blake, our server, was attentive and prompt! The Espresso Brownie Bites for dessert were amazing! We will be back!
One of the best pizza's I've ever had, evah. Super cool bartender, knowledgeable and very friendly. Love this place.
Amazing extremely good dishes I would recommend to anyone the lasagna is a must
We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. The cuisine is upscale Neapolitan Italian. I loved the fried kale, but it’s been removed from the menu. Everything we have had is very fresh and well prepared. They have a wide variety of cheeses and phenomenal cheese boards. The pizza is delicious though not the red sauce style many people are use to. Great service and a lovely atmosphere.
Place is beautiful and relaxing. At first I thought they were going to give us free bread because you’ll have an olive oil on your table but no, there’s no free bread like other Italian restaurants:(
I ordered a margherita pizza and it was DELICIOUS! 100% recommended. My boyfriend ordered an Amatriciana pasta and I have to be honest it wasn’t good:( so I wouldn’t recommend that one. Overall we had a good experience!
Great happy hour with half price pizza and drinks!
Came in for a happy hour because it’s a beautiful space and I’ve heard people talking about it. Pizzas are half off as are beers, real drinks, Bellinis and wine. Right there you can’t beat the value. But then I got the meatballs and the food is pretty amazing too! I’ll have to come back for some of the other dishes but definitely worth a pit stop for happy hour.
I absolutely love this place! It was so nice sitting by the wide front windows by the natural light. Our waiter gave so many great recommendations and conversation, made me feel super comfortable.
* The Strawberry Bellini was was on point.
* The charcuterie was beautifully executed
* The Calaberese pizza exceeded my expectations and is a must have
There's nothing I didn't like about this restaurant, and it honestly made me wish I actually live in the area.
We went to Domenica tonight and had an absolutely fantastic meal. Our waiter, Ryan, was professional and knowledgeable on the menu—he made our visit comfortable while making sure we were taken care-of every step of the way.
Between 3 people, we spent about $100 bucks excluding tip. Not too shabby for a nice meal in New Orleans!
We split the Heirloom Tomato Panzanella—incredibly fresh!
I myself got the Lasagne and it was to die for! The top of the dish is covered in an encrusted cheese which gave the meal a delicious flavor, and held it together very nicely.
My family also got the Rigatoni and Spaghetti Carbonara… all three dishes were fantastic. Ryan really gave us a great experience! Kudos to you Ryan.
The atmosphere lends itself to an almost industrial theme but is softened by whimsical chandeliers and vibrant paintings along the walls that blend somehow, but also catch the eye in a pleasing manner.
The staff are highly efficient and wonderfully attentive, and when one is busy serving another table, others step in to ensure that everyone is taken care of in a very timely manner. Quick to offer an additional drink or possible dessert option as well as any advice on menu items that you may have.
Now, the food. In a word: delightful. Fresh foccia bread as a table offering with a slightly spicy (the barest hint of a chili spice to add intrigue) olive oil. I had the crispy squash blossoms that were fried to perfection and bursting with flavor. The creamy filling of the blossoms paired exceedingly well with the heirloom tomatoes and marinara based sauce, creating a lovely balance of acidic and cream. My entrée was the Garganelli, which had a lovely basil pesto that was supported by the perfect al denté pasta and enhanced the roasted summer Squash. The pistachios added a subtle layer of flavor and a lively crunchy texture.
As I neared the end of my dining experience, I was given, no request made, a small sample of one of their desserts. Now, I am unaware if this is standard practice because it is a rather good marketing tactic for their desserts. But it was a delightfully soft chocolate cookie type. Melted and coated the tongue and had a deep, rich dark chocolate flavor tempered by a dusting of powdered sugar. Unfortunately for them, I was quite pleasantly full and didn't wish to make myself miserable no matter the delight of my tastebuds.
All in all a wonderful experience and one I would highly recommend to any and all.
My squid ink tagliolini is delicious. The service is very friendly and attentive. Price of $24 is very reasonable for the restaurant, which is inside the Roosevelt, a Waldolf Astoria hotel.
Annie served our private party celebrating our two lovely brides and did a fantastic job. The food was truly incredible, from the salad to the deserts. I enjoyed every appetizer- the white pizza had an incredible balance of flavor, the cuts of meat for the charcuterie board were delectable and pair extremely well with the plethora of cheese, wets, and breads, and the salad was perfectly dressed. I enjoyed the carbonara for my main dish and it was the best I've had. The desserts were also GREAT- the tiramisu had perfect layers packed with flavor, but the pudding like one was my favorite
The food is definitely better quality than I expected, but very touristy. I say that in the sense that the restaurant is located in the Roosevelt Hotel, which is a shame because the restaurant does not match the caliber of the hotel. That being said, The Roosevelt is falling apart and in desperate need of renovation, but that's a different review.
Domenica staff were fantastic. They were on top of everything and mindful of our scheduling to see a performance at the Oprheum. Even at 5:15 on a Saturday night, it was already full, so make a reservation on OpenTable beforehand.
The food here was amazing. The service was good. I could eat this tomato cucumber salad every day for the rest of my life. The sauce was amazing as well.
We were walking down the sidewalk and on a whim decided to stop in for dinner on a Monday night. Thank God we did! Hands down the best spontaneous dinner ever! Brittany our server was fantastic! it was a full rough day at a conference, but she made it a great night. Wonderful recommendations, that weren't ticket price driven. The food was fantastic! 20 years in the seafood biz, and the kitchen surpassed my expectations with the royal red shrimp. If you are a shrimp lover...order 2! Perfectly cooked.....kudos to the kitchen. Even when a dish didn't match up with our palate, it was no problem to order a replacement meal. Customer service is only secondary to amazing food and beverages here. Management was so kind to check on us and understanding that the meal was perfect, but just not quite what we preferred. We are already planning on returning before we leave town. 5 stars are not enough.....I wish I could give more!
This is the second time eating here, and the food is still delicious. We started with the Affettati Misti. This was fabulous! From the meats to the cheeses, every bite was delicious and filling. There were six of us. All the pasta dishes that came next were just as good. Our server was amazing. He was very knowledgeable of all menu items and was super friendly and professional.
Stopped in before a show for an early lunch and was treated to wonderful experience with an outside window view from The Roosevelt. Ordered a meatball pizza and a fantastic crawfish cheese appetizer. And there's complimentary bread with olive oil... who can resist that! Fantastic all around.
Domenica is a very posh restaurant. It's welcoming and the staff is hospitable. We came through for the first time and everyone from the host to the person who pours your water gave great service. The squid pasta and banana dessert was given 5 stars by my table mate. The charcuterie was the best. They didn't rush us. The place is beautiful.
