Love this place!! Our server Arielle was amazing and on point with everthing. You have to come here when you’re visiting NOLA.
Our favorite place to eat in Nola. The Peacemaker, pig candied bacon, and a cup or 2 of the French Truck Coffee is my go to meal. It doesn’t get any better. 🥓🍳☕️👠
Great food && great service. I enjoyed everything! Had a bit of a wait with reservations but it was worth it.
First time here and the food was amazing ! Not only was the food delicious, but Arielle ( our server) was beyond amazing!! Will be coming back for sure !
There was about a 30- 40 minute wait bit I’d say it was well worth it! The food was marvelous
Food was great!!!!!! My family & I was visiting from miami and it was finger licking good
Amazing food, great staff. Tried for the first time yesterday and it was so good went back again today!
It's brunch time! The Ruby Slipper Cafe is well-known to be one of the best spots to down eggs benedict in the area, so we lined up bright and early to get our seat - and there was already a line 15 minutes prior to opening!. The Ruby Slipper Cafe is an award-winning cafe famous for our breakfast, brunch & lunch offerings. We bring New Orleans flair to southern breakfast standards, brunch classics and fresh lunch dishes. We were founded in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2008. From there we have grown to 10 locations! Six in New Orleans, one in Baton Rouge, La. and three stretching along cities on the Gulf Coast including, Mobile, Orange Beach and Pensacola Fl.
When there is a huge wait the food is usually amazing. The menu has so many items I wanted to try, but I think I settled on the wrong one. I got the shrimp and cheese omelette. I was disappointed, but all in all the food was ok. Everything was fresh and the service was ok.
I was a huge fan of Ruby Slipper when it was in Mid-City; went there for breakfast at least once every trip to N.O. That location is gone, and this one is a pale imitation. The menu seems to be the same but the ambience is gone, gone. Gone. Replaced by tourists (like me, except that I'm still a native) who make up at least half the clientele now. The food, so far as I could tell from a single visit, is still pretty good but sure seemed to take a lot longer in coming than it ever did on Cortez Street. And the streetcars passing on the Canal Street line, for those seated on the sidewalk (which I recommend, if the weather's tolerable) at least capture a bit of the city's essence ... although they, too, are arrivistes wearing old-style costumes.
Chose this place for breakfast today, definitely it was a good decision loved my custom mad sandwich and vanilla creme coffee, my friend tried the florentine omelet and like it too, the service was prompt and efficient.
I had the shrimp & grits which was okay but not near as impressive as a local NOLA cafe. My mom had the corned beef and cabon eggs Benedict - she enjoyed both. Overall the food wasn’t good enough to go back and server never checked on us after we received our food which was odd.
Worth the wait. Service was great. Farrione brightened our meal and the space with her smile and attitude! Had breakfast - shrimp boogaloo and Spanish omelet with a Bloody Mary and ruby slipper mimosa. Delish!
We both had 'The three little pigs omelet' with potatoes and a biscuit. Everything was delicious. The omelet could use more meat, but over all a fantastic dining experience.
This place was amazing! I will definitely return. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and great menu. Oh..and the food, to die for. I had eggs Benedict with Cochon de lait. All four people in our party loved their breakfast entree. Good coffee, great location. Will be returning.
This place was recommended to us by another friend who went here on another trip. The wait was ok, especially since it was Mardi Gras season. The food was ok, I did expect more since its a bragged about place.
If you don't mind the wait in line just to get in, then you're likely to experience a very good breakfast offering. Everything from the Louisianan omelette to the light & fluffy buttermilk pancakes were amazing. I'm sure the lunch items are just as good and the lines probably longer, but I don't mind waiting for tasty food and great service. Take your leftovers, they're great for afternoon snacking after Jazz fest or shopping. Otherwise revisit during lunch or dinner and start over. Great experience!
Wonderful breakfast. Truly yummy. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make the experience a pleasant one. Very welcoming. We will be back on our next trip.
The breakfast we had was pretty good. I had French toast which was as expected. My son had the cheesecake French toast but the blue berries were overpowering. My other son had white ganache with ore pancakes. Those were delicious and my wife had the eggs Benedict. The orange juice was a large glass and was fresh. Overall, the experience was good.
The tables were really close to the one next to us so we strikes up a conversation with the friendly folks there too.
Wonderful. Starting from the name to the food to the staff. The breakfasts are the best I have had in all of America. The southern breakfast is full of variety and filling. The chicken Sausages and the Fried tomatoes are amazing.
Staff greeting and serving you ensure you have a wonderful start to the day.
A must visit if you are in NOLA!

+3.5
The Ruby Slipper's menu drew me in. When we walked through the door this morning, the hostess was busy chatting a family up and didn't greet us. We only waited about 5 minutes, but guest perception is always skewed and especially when you haven't been greeted.
Our server was very nice and speedy. I ordered the eggs coubion (over easy instead of poached) and it was really good. I loved the creole tomato courtbouillon and the French bread and catfish was really tasty. My wife had the corned beef hash Bennie sans horseradish sauce. The corned beef was house made and very good. I liked the potatoes as well but I think there should've been more corned beef involved. It was her first time having a poached egg and she liked it. She skipped the biscuit as she wasn't a fan and I was stuffed so I didn't try it - but it looked good and it was huge. She also got a "double mimosa" which was super champagne-y (not complaining).
Portions were large and super filling. The food was really good, service was good except for not being greeted. I gave 3.5 rating because it didn't have that genuine Nawlins feel, which is important to me when I visit.
The Ruby Slipper was within walking distance of our hotel so we visited 3 times during our week long stay. The food was good. We enjoyed the interesting takes they have on Eggs Benedict. My husband especially liked the Eggs Cochon, which replaces the Canadian bacon on traditional benedict with shredded pork. The service was always friendly and efficient. The restaurant is clean, not much atmosphere, but not bad.
We drop our name and join the outdoor line up at The Ruby Slipper, a popular and noisy breakfast joint known for their house specialties including BBQ Shrimp & Grits, Eggs Cochon and Migas. Smiley service, serviceable food, nice fresh juices. Good hang-over relief with 3-4 locations in NOLA
Fantastic breakfast, great location and great prices. Friendly staff and excellent service. I sat at the bar. Best dish hands down is the eggs cochon. I can't even begin to explain this delicious palette oral 'gasm. Try the French Truck coffee! YUMMY!
Incredible breakfast....one of the best I've had in recent memories. Had the BL2T which was perfect. My friends had a variety of other meals and they were all very good. Very friendly and quick service
SOLID!. The food is as good as the other locations. I did not like sitting in a booth that I had to squeeze in to sit. Literally my stomach or gut was touching the table. The best location is in the Marigny!
The service is fantastic mad the food was amazing! We'll be coming here every morning for breakfast during our stay in NOLA.
This restaurant had a great New Orleans atmosphere with the Ruby Slipper Decor. More Importantly, my husband loves a big breakfast that's special on vacation and this place set his day on Good to go! My breakfast was delicious as well and I was impressed by the unique menue choice. I was glad we were staying at our time share because it had a refrigerator for my take home breakfast the next day:)
Brunch in NOLA. This restaurant was inspired by there Wizard of Oz - there's not place like home - after hurricane Katrina. Reserve a table ahead of time! Their iced coffee is really good too. Service was kind of slow when we went but understandable since it was busy. Love the inspiration of the restaurant and good location.
Chrissy was AMAZING!! From her service with a smile to the recommendations. Always filling our drinks. You’ve scored a gem of a waitress with her. The food is so good. GET THE BREAD PUDDING PANCAKE!! Ruby slipper is a win for sure. Best food in Lousisana!
The BeST breakfast place in town had to go back! The food is Always Great, they just know food. Service is always good, seating is a little tight for parties of five or bigger, but well worth it. The selection of breakfast is amazing, we haven’t had Anything we didn’t want again! We have been to more that this location and they just know how to do restauranting! If that is a word. Thanks TRSC
Had breakfast here twice during our visit to NOLA. Reasonably priced and generous portions! Great selections on the menu, something for everyone. Call ahead during peak hours to get on the list ( we called ahead at 9:30 on a Saturday, got right in at 9 on a Monday) They also have great art for sale and logo’d swag. It’s a sweet little breakfast place we thoroughly enjoyed.
Oh my delicious. Went here on a late Friday morning in December ( hours are 7a-2p) not too busy. About a 5min wait for party of 2. We were offered a short or tall chair. Our waitress was delightful and honest about the food options. I had banana foster French and my husband ordered cheese grits, eggs, sausage and a HUGE biscuit. We had some morning drinks, yes drinks and they were tasty. Really nice atmosphere. We would visit again.
Touristy? Of course. But Ruby Slipper has a great breakfast/brunch menu. Call ahead and put your name on the list or youll often have to wait 30-60 minutes for a table. The migas was delicious. My friend had the shrimp and fried chicken benedict and loved it.
The food was delicious! I had the fish and grits. The biscuits were AWESOME! My husband had the shrimp and grits, he raved about them. Oh and I highly recommend the peach belinelli or breakfast margarita! Tip, the wait is extensive, however you can reserve your table via Yelp and cut the line using the Nowait app. You'll thank me later!
It's generally really busy in the morning. To save time, you can use the Yelp app to make a reservation. It also shows you the wait-list and the wait time. The food was amazing. I ordered the banana foster frenchtoast and the peacemaker (eggs cochon and chicken St. Charles). The French toast was a bit too sweet for me. I would go back for the eggs cochon. The eggs were perfectly poached
Really great spot for brunch. Their meat Benedict’s were better than the seafood ones by a lot. I wouldn’t recommend the brandy milk cream either (except if you like alcohol in your milk)
Wish we could have went back for breakfast the next day! Totally casual, great food, and great story behind the name. Decor is adorably done in breakfast quirk. definitely be stopping in next time we're in NOLA.
The food was good. I had a side of catfish. The catfish is shaped like onion rings. It's a unique eatery. The customer service was good. The Hostess was unsure of seating. The biscuit was delicious. I ordered a pancake but I am not a breakfast person. The atmosphere was nice.
All of my previous visits here have been great. The Ruby Slipper is typically filled, and for great reason since the food is perfection. I’ve had the omelets before and most recent, the massive banana pecan pancakes with chicken sausage. My waitress was Shameeka, of whom was amazingly engaged with a warm smile.
My pancake (I only purchased one of them and barely finished it) was perfect with fresh pecans and fresh bananas. The iced coffee was perfect as well. The only thing I disliked was that the floor where my table was had packs of sugar, food particles, and a fork on it. Eventually someone picked it up, but that needs to be cleaned as frequently as possible.
A most excellent choice for breakfast or brunch. There was a bit of a wait for both the table and the food but both were well worth it. I had the trifecta which was a sampling of three different Benedicts. Perfectly cooked and seasoned and perfectly done eggs. If there weren’t so many other places to try in this city I’d be back here everyday.
Good breakfast with a twist. Nice staff clean place. Wasn’t really fast service but they handled the crowd. Inside and outside seating. I recommend inside because a lot of people are walking by outside plus it gets hot and muggy.
Such a find and totally worth the wait. This was the best meal we had all week in NOLA. Listen to the servers and try the Bennies. Had the one with pork debris and it was excellent. Faust made great recommendations.
We came here for breakfast on Sunday, 9/1. We got there about 8am, based on the recommended "arrive early to avoid a wait". So glad we did!! We got seated immediately and the menu was clear and exciting!
I got the coffee with the shot of vodka (I mean, vacation and Nola, why the heck not!?) And hubs got the sunrise margherita. Both were insanely good, and I actually got a side of extra cream bc the vodka was strong (tip: stir in the whip cream on top to tame down the vodka if need be!).
I ordered the shrimp omlett which was huge!! The biscuits we're almost head size and I never even got around to eating it! I added cheese to my potatoes ('cause, well, cheese!) And they were cooked perfect.
Hubs got the sampler which had three different types of eggs with 3 different style bases and 3 different hollandaise sauces. All were Amazing and really really tasty!!
By the time we left around almost 9, there was already a line and a wait out the door. Seriously recommend going early or be prepared to wait....would totally go back!!
The Ruby Slipper is a great option for brunch. The banana foster French toast with side of bacon is a great choice, not to mention they make a hell of a blood orange mimosa. The only down side is if you're going during the weekend you're definitely going to have to wait a while to get a table here, we're talking two hours of waiting.
