We had an excellent dinner to end our culinary tour of New Orleans. Our table got escargot with marrow, Brussels, oysters, and beet salad for appetizers....they were all delicious. For mains we got, trout blackened, chicken, pork, and shrimp and grits...all were delectable but the blackened trout one one of the most delicious things I ate all weekend. For dessert, the best bread pudding we had while visiting! š
Great experience at Luke for a small group of 5. The table next to us had 8 and we had two servers dedicated to our two tables. Attentive service, water glass never empty, and exceptional food. I was surprised at the volume control... full restaurant and we did not have to yell to hear each other.
Pictures: roasted duck, roasted chicken, chocolate mousse, and bread pudding.
This spot exceeded expectations in cuisine, atmosphere and service. We went early. It was happy hour and this place does happy hour right. The cocktails are half price and are fully made. The appetizer of seafood salad and smoked trout dip were superb.
I enjoyed the Conundrum, which is a spin on an Old Fashioned. My husband is deaf with a cochlear implant. He motioned to our server, across the way and pointed to my empty glass and made the hand motions of breaking spaghetti and smiled. The server winked and nodded and brought me another delicious cocktail at the happy hour price.
The roast chicken, vegetables and pork schnitzel we enjoyed were simply extraordinary.
This is a place not to be missed on your New Orleans journey. It's among the very best.
First get a reservation. Get there for happy hour (3-6pm) 1/2 priced drinks. We capitalized on the Conundrum, French 75 and smoked something. The french 75 had a 75 in the foam that did not dissipate as you eat them.
We had the smoked trout dip and the German onion cheese and crispy pork belly. These were delicious.
I have blackened trout that was sublime when paired with the jalapeƱo grits. It could have been a little more blackened. But was delicious.
Dear wife had steak and frites. The steak was a little more done than medium rare. But was acceptable. The frites were addictive.
Cafe au lait was amazing.
I discovered āLukeā a block from my hotel and decided to try it out. What a great experience! The service was excellent and the food was wonderful. For an appetizer I had the BBQ Gulf Oysters. What can I say - amazing. The bouillabaisse was probably the best I have had, was seasoned perfectly and the quality was just right.
Thank you Luke for a great dinner!
Great restaurant across the street from the intercontinental. We were able to be seated quickly and the service was great. I ordered the shrimp and grits, these might have been the best that I've ever had.
We spent such a good time here.
We visited here at happy hour and had 2 dozens of raw oysters. It was so fresh and large enough. And we ordered fried one and that was good too.
If you want to have early dinner, must visit here and enjoy the happy hour!
***NO MILITARY DISCOUNT*** Delicious food all the way around. The Brussel sprouts were mouth-watering delicious. Even our kiddos loved them. The portions are fairly large, so you may want to share. The chicken sandwich was fried to perfection. We would definitely come back again.
I am in town for a business meeting. I was treated to lunch at Luke. The nostalgia gets me and anyone that follows me knows this. The decor, the server's uniforms; it all made it that much special even before the food arrived.
I had the opportunity to try the barbecue oysters. The look made me think the taste would be strong or spicy. However, to the contrary, the flavor was full and almost undescribably delicious. The brussel sprouts are bursting with flavor.
The shrimp and grits were served in a skillet and looked to have more ingredients than you'd expect. I didn't try it but someone at the table ordered it and raved about it.
I had the tuna tar tar with shrimp chips. It was prepared to perfection.
We needed a place that stayed open late and this was the answer!! Took us three other restaurants before we found this (all the other places either didnāt have enough seats or were closed).
Itās classy, clean, and has lots of seafood options!
I got the gumbo and it was delish!
I mostly liked their creative decorated lamps with shells of food they serve :0)
