My wife and I stopped by for an appetizer on 7/5/2018 as a snack before a tour we were headed to. I got a cup of chicken and sausage Gumbo and my wife had French Onion soup. We we also split a piece if butter pecan pie. We absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere. Due to our first experience we chose to go back for dinner on our last night in New Orleans 7/7/2018. My wife got the blackened chicken jambalaya and I got the sampler. Of course we couldn't pass up the butter pecan pie. I also had two drinks..The Emancipation Punch and I don't remember the second. The food was fantastic. I loved the history of the building, and our server (Tiffany) was really cool and did a great job. Our food came out in a timely manner and was delicious. I would recommend this place (and don't forget the butter pecan pie)

Our waitress, Tara, was the best waitress we had our entire weekend in New Orleans & we ate a lot of places! If she recommends something trust me, try it! Food was good but the staff was great & made for an amazing dinner experience!

Favorite restaurant that I visited in new Orleans. Crab salad was stellar and miss Mary's service was top notch. Jazz music playing in a gorgeous and rustic historic building. Loved every minute of my time there.

When you walk in, it feels like a rustic tavern where everyone already knows your name, and the staff was as friendly as if that were the truth. The entire wall of one side of the restaurant is a mirror, so it is smaller than it appears, but they were able to accommodate our party of seven without issues or delay. The food was delightful, many options for larger parties looking to accommodate many different tastes, including authentic dishes. Highly recommend the meat pies, definitely a highlight.

Finding this restaurant was the best part of our trip! The service is excellent, and the food, superb. The atmosphere comes from a place that only being there since 1788 can provide. Everything about it is amazing. It's small, on a corner, but proves big things come in small packages. I had 'googled' best French onion soup in New Orleans, and this was the number one restaurant that popped up. It did not disappoint!

We go to New Orleans quite often, but this was our first time here. A local resident recommended this restaurant. We ended up liking this restaurant so much that we ate there for dinner and brunch the next day. The seafood pot pie with fried crawfish on top was incredible. The staff was very knowledgeable, and you can tell that they enjoy working there. We will definitely be back.

We have eaten at the Original Pierre Maspero’s restaurant many times over the years. The food is good, especially considering the reasonable price. The atmosphere is also nice with pleasing views of Chartres and Saint Louis Streets. I think the service is the best thing. Always pleasant and friendly. I especially like their breakfast.

This restaurant, slightly off the beaten track, doesn't have live music...just good food and drinks and friendly service. We had a delicious dinner. My partner's burger was perfectly done medium rare. My Shrimp jambalaya was excellent, and the bread pudding for dessert - big enough to share - was TDF. Friendly service. Rhonda, the manager, was attentive. Oh, and, the Cajun bloody Mary was perfectly spicy.

Keeping in mind that you are in the French Quarter, food is quite delicious and reasonably priced. I was born and raised in NO and eat here often. I highly recommend this place for great New Orleans style food! Loved the pistolettes, the "pot pie", and the shrimp remoulade....

Date: July 11, 2023 Time: Around 6/7PM One word….AMAZING! Why…EXCELLENT SERVICE WITH AWESOME FOOD and add to that an open and relaxed ambiance. And you’ve got a definite must go to restaurant! You have to try the Bread Pudding…it’s one of the best I’ve had anywhere! Oh…and the Blackened Chicken Jambalaya was so flavorful I couldn’t save any for later! We also had the the Veggie Alfredo Pasta. It was very flavorful for those looking for a vegan meal. Come check this place out! You will not be disappointed!

Original Pierre Maspero's was superb. The crab cakes were loaded with crab meat and not a lot of fillers. The meat was fresh and delicious. The sauted spinach and mushrooms were done to perfection, the tomatoes fresh and the tangy sauce just about had me licking the plate. The grits were the fluffiest I’ve ever tasted. This place is small but packed with character and charm. Feels like soemthing out of the movie. The service was great. Servers were attentive and the food came out fast. This place is not to be missed if you’re in New Orleans.

I come to the Original Pierre Maspero's every trip I make to New Orleans just for the French onion soup - it is the best I've had! This trip the soup was fabulous as always, and I also tried their Hurricane (somehow for the first time, I've always gotten their other specialty cocktails) which was also great - I think I prefer it over most of the others I've tried in town. What really pushed things over this trip was the service. The service I've had here before has been varied (but never bad, at worst just passable), but my server this time was exactly what I hope for in someone in a customer service position. Shelley R was super friendly while still being super professional, was happy to make suggestions and also not rush me, and was overall just a highlight in the interactions I had in my trip.

The workers were super nice . The chicken and waffle was greatly cooked but the chicken was flavorless so I gave it a 3 star. My friend had the egg Benedict she loved it .

Part of my first trip to New Orleans series! My friends and I wanted creole cuisin, so we decided on this place! Very nice vibe and atmosphere. Staff friendly and hospitable. I have a shellfish allergy, so I ordered the chicken & andouille sausage gumbo soup bowl! YUM!! Just the right amount of heat for this Chef!! Served with warm bread. I chose to have water cause I needed to rehydrate from the heat! My friends enjoyed their hurricane drinks! For dessert, I had the bread pudding with extra caramel sauce! EXCELLENT! Best I EVER had including my own! 🤣 Definitely recommend!

Food 4/5: Food was cooked well, just lacked a liiiitle seasoning. The meat pies bybthemselves were a little bland but the cajun ranch was the necessary punch. The jumbalaya was ok but was better with pepperchini juice and hot sauce. My son didn't like the Alfredo but I did. The gumbo soup was good. The chicken and waffles [chicken] was good too. Service 4/5: ordered a cocktail and it took a while for it to come. It was delivered with the entre. Aside from that, the service was ok. Atmosphere 5/5: was seated and waited on promptly. The restaurant was clean and pleasant.

My husband and I strolled in here at 8pm randomly for our anniversary dinner. We spent a week in New Orleans and this was our favorite restaurant. Our server was friendly and he recommended the Alfredo pasta but with blackened redfish. Oh my sweet baby Jesus.. it’s been a week and I’m still thinking about how delicious it was. I think the Alfredo sauce was homemade; it didn’t have that jar taste. 10/10 would recommend. My husband had chicken Alfredo and it was gone in minutes.

...I am still 'in my feelings' over the DELICIOUSNESS that was served at Pierres...the restaurant is located near the Omni Royal and across the street from the Napolean House...I say all of this because it is easy to miss it!! The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, soft sounds of NOLA jazz in the background combined with an exceptional/attentive/great attention to detail -staff. The food was INSANELY GOOD, we had alligator that tasted so fresh, its family was probably looking for him! The biscuit was a marvel of buttery, garlic layers...it tasted like a savory pound cake with a little crunch, added to it was an ettoufee gravy that could launch a thousand ships....sigh... JUST GO ALREADY

This is a beautiful restaurant. The building is old and embraces its history. The food was amazing, you cannot go wrong with the Crescent City sampler! The service was excellent and the atmosphere was fabulous.
