I found the Chart Room 30 years ago. Still my best find in N.O. It remains the best place to sit and watch the world go by.

Was back in NOLA last week and had been in The Chart Room last time I was there. Had the best bloody Mary and wanted to go back. Couldn't remember the name of this place, but, after weaving in and out of the streets in the quarter we found it again. Staff is very friendly. Not into the touristy bars at all. Love a local dive bar. Can't wait to go back!
I loved this place, it is my new favorite place in the City. Erica was the absolute best bartender ever and the vibe was exactly what I like about a good bar! I will be back
The chart room is always our first stop when we get in NOLA. Must have a Sazerac to stat the vacation. They are the best here, also we hang here, best bartenders and drinks.
Julie is amazing. We were here 3 years ago and she remembered us. Made the absolute best Bloody Mary we have ever had! These bartenders are always amazing. Best spot for a chill time and funny locals!
Friendly bartenders, great patrons and cheap drinks.........When I walked in the bartender said "Welcome Home"...and that was my first time there......they really treat you like family.
Great jukebox. Great bartenders. I had an awesome sazerac. OK beer selection. It just has a great, laid-back feeling - not touristy at all. Go.
Awesome bar tenders, cheep bottled beer, great atmosphere, and quieter location than Bourbon street. Great place to start and end the night. One of my favorites in New Orleans!
Best bar in New Orleans! Bartender makes a phenomenal rum punch.

Nice place, Nice Staff, cheap beer, and best location in New Orleans
Best jukebox in America!!! (Assuming you have good taste in music.)
Awesome definitive New Orleans dive bar. It's made me miss TWO departing flights!!! LOL
For professionals ONLY!!!
Has to be my favorite bar in the French Quarter. Great atmosphere!!
The best bar in the city!! Best bartender as well. The one an only Julie!! Laid back with interesting awesome people.
Great place. Reasonably priced. Only downfall is they do not accept plastic.
Busy as hell on the weekend and a smaller bit friendly crowd on Monday! Very nice:)
Been going in for years! Always a cold beer and a friendly face. Definitely my favorite bar in the Quarter.
Great local bar. Good drinks good service cold beer. Cash only
Best place in the Quarter to watch the world go by.
Best bar in NOLA. Great jukebox, great drinks, Michelle's favorite, the bar critic.
Miss Lisa never lets us down! This is my favorite spot for relaxing after a hard day or night of work.
Have been here before and it never fails! Great local bar, great bartenders, drinks and jukebox! Will be back!

Julie makes the best Bloody Mary I've ever had. Bloody Mary's in New Orleans are important!!!!
Great bar ! Real quaint ! Love the corner and the locals ! Same bar tenders when we go !
Best drinks in the quarter. Make real cocktails, strong pours, cash only. Great bar tenders and awesome atmosphere. A must go when down in NOLA.
If I were forced to name the one quintessential New Orleans dive bar, the Chart Room would have to be at the top. Great and very friendly service, liberal pours and a great grungy atmosphere. This place has it all. This is a cash only bar, but with an ATM in house. A primarily locals bar that anyone should fit right in to. Most people love it and if you get the concept chances are you will too.

Update 2/25/2022 – NOLA Mardi Gras 2022 – As always, we hit the Chart Room Bar, The Carousel Bar, and Pat O’ Brien’s when visiting New Orleans.
Best dive bar in the french quarter! The Juke box has a great selection of music.
A friendly COV warning. - 1/6/22 was the beginning of the 2022 NOLA Mardi Gras. The Joan of Arc parade is always a masterpiece. The 2022 procession was led by — what else? — Medieval Plague Doctors. The Joan of Arc parade was scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 6, 7 p.m., French Quarter.
A friendly warning: My wife and I are fully vaccinated and tested positive on 1/10/22. We had very mild symptoms. The symptoms were a common cold, such as cough, fever, and headache. There was no need for Hospitalization or Doctor Visit. Medicine: Over the counter Mucinex DM and Doctor’s prescription: Fluticasone Propionate Nasal spray. Stay Safe!

Been drinking the $2 Draft Highlife and the ice cold Heineken here since 1998! Always good drinks and best prices too. Love the New Orleans music on the old jukebox! Lots of Quarter locals in the day and service industry peeps late at night. Friendly bartenders too! Thanks for letting me hang out y'all.
I was told this place was where the locals hang out and I can see why. Great spot right on the corner. Bartenders were very friendly and attentive. It’s cash only, but they have an ATM right in the bar for you.
This place was a nice place for a quick stop. We needed a place to sit down for a few minutes because we had been walking all day.
There are tables and benches to sit at. The staff was very friendly. Restrooms are in the very back.
Update 11/26/2021 Thanksgiving weekend. Chart Room. Bayou Classic Parade.

April 4, 2021 (Easter Sunday) Update: Sunday afternoon we stopped by the Chart Room Bar on Chartres and Bienville a block from The Monteleone Hotel. The Chart Room is a local bar and very small. However, The Chart Room Bar is one of our favorite stops in the French Quarter.
February 2021 Update: After 4 frigid days without power or water, we were able to get out of Texas and take a hot shower in New Orleans. Our last visit to NOLA was in November 2020 and there were not many people in the French Quarter. We need to support the NOLA hospitality people. New Orleans is coming back. We’re planning to go back to NOLA in April (God willing).
November 2020 review:
Best dive bar in the french quarter! The juke box has a great selection of music.
Best local bar in the Quarter!! Cash only but the friendliest, real people you'll ever met.
Nice, dark and quiet beer bar... that’s the way I want it... bar-woman was so sweet and kind and they have a great beer selection but try their draft beers for sure... everything was perfect and the music was suitable... cheep quality bar for me... worth to pay a visit...
Adorable dive bar. With strong cheap drinks and quick service. It was cash only but there is an ATM on site!
Great little hidden gem. Nice vibe, music and atmosphere. Drinks reasonably priced too.
Nice vibe, cheap prices and a great bartender!
All cash dive bar with the most extraordinary Bloody Mary I've ever had. Recommended.
Just got stellar service from bartender Erica! Nicest bartender I've met yet in the city. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for affordable drinks and good company.
One of my favorite local spots in NOLA. Always a delightfully interesting mix of people and it’s a great corner for people watching. Erica is my favorite bartender in the whole city! So much fun!
Great place and the drinks are very well priced! In short, they don’t stick it to you like on Bourbon Street!
Nice little locals bar I enjoy going there when I'm passing through the quarter.
Best little bar in the French quarter. The bartender Erica is the best! Affordable, cozy, local. A must do!
