The best Bloody Mary. The fried fish and shrimp were perfect. Everything was delicious. Mr Charles was our waiter and he was great. We never waited for anything. I hope they knew what a super employee they have and they keep him forever
Very tasty cajun bloody mary, and the stuffed mirlintons and yams were delicious! My daughter also really enjoyed her very high quality kids chicken strips. The gumbo was on point as well. Very nice atmosphere, nice hanging art, and some big tvs to watch games on. Right next to our hotel and I’m told they do room service to the hotel at regular menu prices, which would make it a steal! A great addition to our awesome New Orleans dining experiences.
The service was fantastic. The drinks were great but the food was phenomenal. Would definitively say the best place to eat around the area!
Best meal during our week long NOLA stay! We got the crawfish spinach dip, fried chicken, stuffed peppers, and red beans and rice and every single item was amazing! Our waiter was awesome and so was the atmosphere of the restaurant. Highly recommend!
The food and service was excellent, best fried shrimp I’ve ever eaten, so fresh and delicious.
We were heading back to our hotel after the Saints game — they were getting busy but they treated us like we were the only ones there. Charles was our waiter - so attentive — and the food, EXCELLENT! The Spicy Oyster shooter was the best I’ve ever had — ok the only one I ever had, but it was great — the Paneed chicken looked to be too much — but it was so good - I ate it all!
Favorite place we dined at while visiting New Orleans, hands down! The crawfish beignets are to die for! Everything was absolutely incredible! Highly recommended.
A group of 9 of us came to eat as soon as entering New Orleans. We ordered multiple appetizers, soups and entrees for the table to share. Everything came out staggered which was wonderful and it was all out quickly! The Alligator Bites, Beignet and Charcoaled Oysters were to DIE FOR! We are only here for a week, but will make it a point to come back here before heading home! DELICIOUS Staff was on top of things and extremely friendly.

Absolutely delicious good as I have had in the Big Easy would recommend to anyone price quality
Stayed next door at the Maison St. Charles and we’re so pleased at how Erin, Will and the staff made us feel so welcome. A great spot for happy hour, oysters, and a little baseball at the bar. A great little local away from home!!
Great atmosphere. Our waiter was exceptional. The food was some of the best we had our whole week in New Orleans
Family reunion trip to New Orleans, and stopped by Mr. Ed’s Seafood. They were able to service our party of 20 people. The food was great, service was wonderful, and nice drinks. They were able to even serve and recommend dishes that were made without pork for individuals that don’t eat it. Cooks even made time to come out and speak with the guest. Great place to visit.
Mr. Ed's Seafood and oyster House was a great place for our family dinner. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. Will definitely be going again when we're back in New Orleans Garden District.
I loved everything about the place! Had just come off a 12hr drive and was absolutely STARVING. I checked into my B&B, let them know I wanted some legitimate Cajun food and they recommended Mr. Ed's. So happy they did. I had the sampler of Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee, Smoked Sausage, red beans & rice. I'm not kidding in how damn good it was, I literally ate every little piece. I also purchased a Shrimp Po-boy to go. The local IPA I had was quite pleasant and went well with the food. The bartender who served me was very friendly, courteous, professional and an overall sweetheart. I'm only here for 2 and a half days but will absolutely be returning at least once.
The first place we ate when we arrived in NOLA. It was a very appreciated visit and dinner after a long travel day. The crab cake mirliton are highly recommended, complimented by the smothered mac & cheese for a side. They also feature a fine wine selection and a variety of domestic or imported beers. The waitress was sweet and helpful with tips about New Orleans.
(P.S.A)……This was my second time eating at this location and I’m so glad the experience was way better than the last time. Because last time my whole family came out for my Uncle Deezy’s birthday, and he received his food last while half of us were served and the other half waited on food. My sweet grandma and I tried this location out today after church. Luckily, my church ends before 11:30 a.m, so we beat the busy crowd due to it being the Essence Festival weekend! I ordered the raw oysters 🦪 because I’m on a forever ♾️ diet, and my grandmother ordered the charbroiled. They were slightly under-seasoned and extremely garlicky, but I guess they were looking out for customers with high blood pressure or something. Then we ordered entrees, mine was just an appetizer of crab cakes while my grandma got the seafood platter, which I must say was the icing on the cake! The only thing that bothered me about this location is that the servers always forget to come right back. Honestly, even though last time there were more servers we stilled seemed to wait forever before the server would come back. Plus last time we all were charged gratuity for a horrible experience, late food, a disappointed uncle, and super sassy waitress, which was more concerned about telling all of us her hair was real than serving us and earning her gratuity. I suggest only going if it’s 3 or less people. The wait is long regardless, but you and your few friends/family will all get their food in a timely manner and you won’t get slapped with a huge gratuity included regardless if the service is bad.
Service and food were excellent. Crawfish etouffee was great. Beer selection was mediocre at best but the food was the main thing and it was great.
Fire in the Window.
My novella about Mr. Ed's.
Two lovers, hand in hand, walked by the window, headed for the door.
They glanced and zeroed in on what's going on behind the glass.
That inward glance between reflections of the city street saw brilliant orange flames dancing high.
This picture window view, they were witness to a chef artfully grilling oysters.
Somehow, they knew.
Tonight was going to be memorable.
Those two lovers? Yours truly, this one who writes. And my Fav Fab One.
Holding the door for my fair lady, we escaped from the summer heat.
In the cool, aromatic air within, there, standing before us, a beautiful smile with a matching personality. And, a très chic name. Paris.
Paris, in NOLA. Mais oui.
We took a short walk. Just Paris and us. We were seated. Gets my vote for Best Seats in the House. Wonderful view just feet away. Walkers. Riders. Cars and Streetcars. All-around great views.
To the other side of the front door, stood that chef provoking those tall flames. Name's Leonard. Paris called him over. Paris had seen me taking pictures through the window.
Of Leonard. And flames. Grilling oysters.
I showed them my pics. We all laughed! I loved them!
Our eyes were directed upward, led by the voice of Rochelle L.
She was to be our chaperon and guide through all things Mr. Ed's.
We stuck with the stack to start. That'd be the Friend Green Tomato Stack.
A knife and fork fantasy of the fried variety. Slices of crispy juiciness. A nip of shrimp. All painted with an artful remoulade.
Since tomatoes are actually fruit, and this dish is love, I'll call it a Passion Fruit Favor.
Fab One did not linger, her finger directing to the Raw Oyster box on the menu.
One half dozen, please, Rochelle. Thank You!
As I'm finishing off those fried green goodies, I take delight in observing her oyster handling techniques.
This ain't her first Oystero. (Rhymes with rodeo, sort of? Doesn't it?)
It was time for Rochelle to bring out a bona fide platter of plenty. A trio of fried favorites, the Southern Fried Platter. With this I got a chicken breast, catfish and some shrimp. Wearing a crispy coat of crunchy perfection. A heapin' helping of Jambalaya to round out the plate.
With nimble nudging, each fork-full a perfect bite. Each nibble a nod to the Chef's intent.
The chef we got to meet. Darrin's his name. The Kitchen Kreator.
My date du jour (every jour, actually, LOL) worked her way through a wonderful Bleu Cheese Wedge Salad. A real classic that did not disappoint.
Under the guidance of Rochelle, and the insightful oversight of Paris, this night set the mood for a romantic romp. Ahem, a ride on the St. Charles streetcar. To nowhere. And back. That's exactly what we did.
Stepping off the streetcar, those two lovers bid goodbye to the night.
They strolled casually back to their nearby room. Hand in hand.
He. Well, me, kinda felt like Eric Clapton, in that gorgeous love song of his. Wonderful Tonight.
And then I tell her, as I turn out the light
I say, "My darling, you were wonderful tonight
Oh my darling, you were wonderful tonight"....
Thank you, Mr. Ed's.
Mr. Ed's did NOT disappoint!! If you want a New Orleans eating experience, you definitely need to eat here! Overly generous portions, delicious cuisine, and attentive, friendly service make for a pleasant dining experience. I highly recommend!!
Great spot. Atmosphere was calm and low key. Anndrea did a great job. Service was wonderful. Oysters were really good.
The food was amazing and our server was so sweet! The charbroiled oysters were so delicious as was everything else. We will be back when we’re in New Orleans.
Rochelle took care of us and honestly - the food was all amazing and everything came out super quick. Would absolutely recommend
Had a yummy dinner. Our party ordered various things and we all thought the food was great. Several of us got hurricanes, and none of us thought they were that good. They tasted mainly like grenadine. Same thing with an old-fashioned that was ordered. It was pretty weak even though an extra shot was ordered with it.
Our took great care of us. We would go back. We just wouldn’t order mixed drinks.
the sweet lady tending the bar last night was great!! also lemon drop martinis are to die for. and the peach cobbler was amazing as well. a great atmosphere and i would highly recommend:)
We (party of 4) came in on a Monday night, two hours before close and it was packed. We had a 30 minute wait, so we grabbed a couple of drinks and sat at the bar. My grandmother liked her hurricane and I enjoyed the spicy bloody mary (which came with pickled green beans that I am now obsessed with). When were seated a very energetic young man, Matt, waited on us. We was hilarious, super social, and had good suggestions/feedback on our orders. The food came pretty timely and the portions were huge - the po boys are like two sandwiches! I ordered the tase of New Orleans - the red beans and rice and the ettoufle are superb. The jambalaya was ok, not bad, not amazing. I had mentioned to Matt how much I loved the green beans and the bloody mary, so he brought one chock full of green beans (YUM!). We didn't have room for dessert, but I can't wait to come back to NO and eat here again. Thanks to Matt for making this a fun night and to Mr. Eds for the delicious meals!
Ok, first timers here. We loved it. Super clean, super friendly. Victoria was our server, outstanding.
As for the food. 2 of the doz. Oysters, were overcooked. How ever, the rest were huge oysters, they were perfect. Suggestions...use same size oysters. Red beans and rice ... tasty, great. 1/2and1/2. Was fantastic. And the Calamary and Marinara was Very. VERY TASTY. JUST FANTASTIC!!!!! All in All we were very happy and we will be back.
A must must must visit for all oyster lovers!! We ordered the chargrilled oysters and THEY WERE FABULOUS. Big fat succulent oysters and oh so fresh! The grilled shrimp was lovely as well. The pricing is very reasonable for the excellent quality food. And the service was equally great. All staff , right from being seated to being served, was very friendly and very attentive. Our server Desseria was so sweet and helpful. We had previously had oysters at Coterie Oyster Bar in French quarter and the oysters we were served were so tiny and overpriced. The server we had was so horrible to us. But Ed’s is just amazing. Please choose Ed’s over any other place. You won’t regret it!!
