Liuzza’s has the coldest beer in town!
The fried eggplant with marinara is the best. Love it.
Lori is always there to greet her patrons. I guess that’s why I’ve been coming here since the seventies.
An oldie, but a goodie! Finally got to Liuzza's after 40 years in New Orleans visits. The place was well worth the delay.
Very cozy bar area full of friendly locals. Small, but adequate dining area. Food was great...fried oysters with a side of red beans. Then there was the schooner filled with ice cold beer...Second Line by choice. Enjoyed a chat with patrons both in bar and at the table. Typical of N.O., all conversations revolved around great food! Can't wait to be back!
Had the hot sausage poboy, very good sandwich. The beer was nice and cold and our server Raymond was excellent. Thank you Raymond!! Will definitely go back.
Liuzza’s is a great place to get some excellent comfort food. Located in Mid City it’s close to everything. Great food, great cocktails and great location.
One of the best places to eat in New Orleans. Best Potatoe Salad in the world. Great N. Italian entrees, cold beer in a chilled schooner served by The prettiest Bartender in New Orleans.
Love Liuzza's! Just had the gumbo with oyster po boy and 2 scooners of draft beer. Awsome!
Friendly staff, good beer and great food! I would definitely visit this establishment again. It is a little out of the way, but it is well worth your time.
I love the place the food and the people. We usually start with the eggplant and/or onion rings. Both are excellent. Love when they call out draw 2 because I know that ice cold beer will be served in iced mugs. Everything from the liver and onions to the seafood is great. Definitely need to try this place. Great little bar too. Cant wait to ho back.

This was our first visit to Liuzza's but it won't be our last. Great menu options, excellent staff and delicious food at a fair price. Couldn't ask for better.
Excellent, the boudan was great and the seafood gumbo was among the best. Especially liked the Frenchalotta.
Great food. Loved our waitress. New Orleans classic for a reason
Have been there in every phase of my life. It's always been delicious. Hubby had hamburger steak with mashed tater and gravy and I had frenchalotta (sorry spelling may be off) but the taste is always on target. Onion rings to die for.
Not fancy, but great! Food is top notch, their version of a muffaletta is the best. Very cold beer and the service made us feel at home. Easy parking. We were only in NOLA for a few days...and we came here twice! We will be back to try more menu items.
Had seen on True South SEC Network, so while here we made decision to stop by. Did a tour earlier, so dropped off and drove there around 230p.
Had ice cold schooners! Onion rings delicious, not frozen. Red beans and rice had good flavor too.
Decided on a special of 1/2 Sandwich and soup or salad. Opted for fried shrimp and Gumbo. We could have split the sandwich. Gumbo delicious 😋
Shrimp sandwich on French baguette dressed with lettuce and tomatoes. Pickles on the side.
Glad we made the stop and didn't go off the negative reviews. Morgan is from Southlake area, but NOLA is home. Had great conversation at the bar. Best wishes to her, and her son that is on his way to the NFL in the future!!
We will return!
If you want the best meal that you’ll have while visiting NOLA, get the Eggplant Napoleon. I don’t even really like eggplant, but our server Morgan said it was the best thing on the menu - and she did not disappoint! Morgan makes you feel immediately welcome and we felt like a local by the time we left!
Say at the bar and was welcomed by Morgan. Service was amazing and interactive. Food exceeded our expectations. HUGE portions and absolutely delicious!! Needed a to go box. Just go! You won't be disappointed.
We saw Liuzza's on TrueSouth and with Sicilian ancestry and a love of WWII history, we knew we had to stop in while in town. We walked right in and were seated and greeted, no wait. Our waitress Morgan was absolutely the best! I asked about the Eggplant Napoleon and she said it was the best thing on the menu. She was not kidding. It was everything I never knew I wanted and more! My husband ordered the Frenchuletta (as seen on the show) and it was freaking AMAZING too! The olive salad on it was absolutely to die for and I'm not a big olive fan. The sandwich was also massive, a big plus when walking all day. We were trading plates back and forth the entire time. It was a later lunch for us (3pm) and was enough food to hold us doing tourist stuff until around 8. Everything was very well priced which is hard to find sometimes when traveling. Wish we lived closer so we could become regulars!! I actually asked my husband how many times we could fit in to eat that sandwich on this trip...maybe even take one for the road. Easily the best version of a mufaletta I've ever had.
Great Italian quaint restaurant. Fantastic service by Ghaea (sorry if misspelled) Parking lot off street. Handicap accessible.
This is an old school NOLA staple for creole Italian. Plates are hearty and the beer is cold - I can recommend giving it a try
Stopped while walking by. Cute little place and the food was unexpectedly amazing! The menu has something for everyone and came out fast and hot! I had the shrimp fettuccine and it was delicious.
It's been a long time since I had lunch here, so I decided to give it a try. The food is very good, I had a catfish po-boy and French fries, and it was very filling and tasted wonderful. The restaurant has been there since 1927, and the atmosphere is reminiscent of the old times, what with pictures and tables and chairs. I will be back.
We had pizza and the holiday IPA draft and everything was delicious! The side salad was fresh with great dressing. Nothing fancy, just good food & friendly service.
Stopped in on a whim. Was very welcoming. Lola was a great waitress. She always made sure everything was ok. We got the seafood platter which was perfectly cooked. The oysters were delicious. Beer served in a frozen mug. Perfect!!!!
Don't let the higher than average prices scare you. You will get delicious food great service and definitely feel like you're in a New Orleans local restaurant. We had the chicken shrimp and okra gumbo which was the best I've had at any local restaurant here. Not spicy hot just well spiced. The only thing they didn't serve it with French bread on the side, just some bun that was possible. Also, we had the fried catfish with the spaghetti and red gravy as a side and it was excellent. It's definitely worth coming out of the French Quarter and out of your way to get really good, local authentic food. Can't wait to come back.
Oh and Gents, check out the men's room and be thrown back into the past. Don't step in the ice!
At more than one foot in length, the Frencheletta could accommodate two diners if necessary. The costs were really fair. The ambiance and service were also excellent! Liuzza's has to be on your short list of restaurants to visit in New Orleans.
Legendary! Great history. Great staff. Great food. Go! EAT!
We had a good lunch. Always enjoy it. Y'all need to get another machine so Y'all can make bushwhackers again.
