Casamento's Restaurant - New Orleans - Photo album

Oysters from Casamento's were freshly shucked and delicious. The seafood gumbo was hearty, thick, and satisfying. I really enjoyed the classic feel of the place. Took a while to get seated but the service was excellent. Definitely worth stopping by if you enjoy oysters.
Oysters were SO fresh and delicious! Cash only and totally worth a repeat visit!
Came here for the nostalgia. Saw it on diners driveins and dives twice. The owner is very nice. Had the charbroiled oysters, fried crab claws, and a local strawberry beer. Crab claws were good. They make them in a old pot and fry to perfection. The oysters were fresh, however i would recommend they
When you’re in New Orleans and you’re looking for oysters it doesn’t get any better than Casamento’s. This is old-school, classic New Orleans.
Best fried oysters in New Orleans. Family owned and operated in the fourth generation of ownership. Almost entirely tile interior, fastidiously clean.
Made a trip here for lunch. One of the best decisions I ever made. A really great old line oyster bar and restaurant. Family owned and run, and it shows in their attention to quality and service. Lots of locals coming in for lunch, and that is always a good sign. My friend had a bowl of seafood gu
This is a renown institution. Open only 4 months out of the year. When you go to New Orleans, this is where everyone needs to go FIRST. The oysters are fresh, plenty of delicious food and seafood option, iconic floors that stood the test of time since 1919, great locals gathering together, and not t
Absolutely enjoyed every dish we ordered. The service is excellent. The oysters are sooooo good. The gumbo is rich and flavorful. The crab claws were hot and fried perfectly. We also had 1/2 shrimp loaf and spaghetti w/meatballs. Sorry for no pics of the loaf or spaghetti. Everyone was really nic
Absolutely loved our visit here. Don't think it's changed much since 1919 and still cash only. Loved everything, especially the crab claws, oyster stew and plump raw Oysters. Horseradish on the tables was great. Lovely staff and a really nice atmosphere, be careful walking through the kitchen to get
Talk about nostalgia!! This place was so cool, and pretty much seemed unchanged from when it opened 100 years ago. A very seafood/oyster focused restaurant. It’s family owned and you can read about the family on the website. We were served by one of the twin daughters who helps her parents run the p
Very nice cozy restaurant. Grilled oysters were excellent, as was the perfectly fried catfish. Staff is friendly and helpful with menu questions. Sorry I left my phone in the truck and couldn't get pics.
If you love oysters, you need to try here! Fried crabs are also very good.
This place is the best. The oysters are tremendous, the sandwiches are huge and delicious, and the people who run it are just great. I will never go to NOLA again without eating here.
Great mom and pop style place. Food was awesome. Gluten free options are amazing. Don't forget your cash ( although they do have an ATM). Servers and staff were friendly. Would definitely go back again if in New Orleans. The neighborhood is perfect for wandering before or after a meal or snack.
Remains the go-to New Orleans place for oysters. They have a long history of sourcing the best. Raw, broiled, in stew...hands-down the best. Big, flavorful, perfectly prepared. Limited menu, but every choice great.
Great little hole in the wall with amazing fresh oysters! The loaves are huge, the seafood tasty and the servers are friendly! We were there later in the evening but were welcomed warmly and enjoyed our meal. The oyster stew is exactly as I remember my mom making when I was a child. The catfish loaf
