The beignets were delicious and the coffee was okay. The atmosphere was packed. You will wait!! But I think it was worth it. The breakfast sandwich was okay but the crawfish omelette and grits were excellent 👌
The Cafe Beignet, Royal street, is just a small niche that could easily be overlooked. It’s right next door to the Eighth District Police Station. This place has an amazing atmosphere, great staff, fantastic chefs, AND the Beignets are amazing. I can't emphasize this enough, go here and not Cafe Du Monde. You will not regret the decision.
First stop for food was breakfast beignets and they did not disappoint. Food cooked fresh to order, real eggs and real grits. Beignets were soft, pillowy, sweet (but not too sweet), fried perfectly (not greasy) and served with right amount of powdered sugar.

If you know, you know. This is a must-stop location anytime I'm in NOLA. The beignets are incredible dense. The sugar is never wanting. And the line moves faster than you think.
Came in on our way across the country on the i10. Stopped first at the city bark with my son's service dog. Next stop cafe beignets. The friendly dog patio and the staff seemed to be in love with our dog. I ordered the gumbo and my son ordered the jambalaya. Both ordered chicory coffee and 3 beignet
Breakfast ...love the patio. I am not a chocolate fan but the beignet was great! The star was the breakfast sandwich though. Their bacon in the croissant tastes like smoked ham. Omg it was so so so good. It took me to a smoking pit with a fresh hog in my mind.

Stopped here while traveling through NOLA. This place is so cute and has the most amazing beignets! The atmosphere is super cozy and lively and there is always a line because their food is just that good!
Great beignets, perfect ambience! The cafe au lait was excellent!! The crawfish omelet was delicious and a perfect amalgamation of flavors. The breakfast sandwich (with croissant) was delicious. The bread was flakey and the flavors were rich and full. Highly recommend!
Line was long, but it was so worth it!!! Would 100000000% recommend these beignets over Cafe DuMonde. They are fluffy and delicious! Just the right amount of powdered sugar! Coffee is also great!
1st time trying the beignets. They're pretty good. The service was great. The place is small and esthetic. However, their coffee was horrible!! It did not even taste like coffee. It was very water down.
I actually liked our visit here more than Cafe du Monde at Decatur for some reason. I guess coz although its busy, it has some coziness to it. We had a good spot just right by the entrance too where it didnt get too stuffy with the crowd, we get to people watch a bit had some outside breeze.

Visiting NOLA from New York, I heard about beignets and kind of assumed they'd be just funnel cakes. We went to Cafe du Monde on the first day and the beignets we had were to me, were basically funnel cakes. I left there feeling underwhelmed.

Better beignets than Cafe du Monde. Cashier told me I look like Nev from Catfish but I’m not even mad cause they’re 100% spot on, as they were with their recommendations. Beignets were so good they could tell me I look like Shrek every time and I’d still come back.
Breakfast was good! Beignets were great. I just wish they were smaller! The view is great and loved watching birds go in and out.
Definitely a hot spot! Be ready to wait in line for some amazing beignets! We ordered to go and they were delicious. We also picked up a couple lbs of coffee beans which we love!
Nice little spot to grab a bite to eat and listen to some NOLA-based musicians.
On hot days, they have mist fountains which js particularly nice, especially at the end of August.
Food is decent but to be expected of a small cafe, nice employees. Definitely recommend as a spot to sit down for a momen
The long wait is worth it to sit outside in the cute shaded courtyard. The food is decent, but the beignets are obviously the star.
