It is fantastic the red beans and rice and a French Dip sandwich. Every time I'm in New Orleans this is a must stop. They even fix it to go. Love the outside, the location and the people. If you are in Algiers Point this is a must eat place.

Great Lunch at the Dry Dock Cafe in Algiers The Dry Dock Cafe is a quaint little place across the street from the Algiers Ferry terminal in New Orleans. I was drawn to the cafe at first sight. I needed some assistance on the way to the terminal and met Sam who works at the Dry Dock Cafe. Based on our conversation I decided to come back to the Dry Dock for lunch. They have a full menu and I finally decided to order a Dry Dock Burger. This was a huge hamburger with all of the fixin’s. I got it cooked Medium and it was cooked to perfection. The flavor was so good I had to finish it even though I was full after eating only half. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The decor was nautical and unique. By the way, they do have a full bar. Definitely going back! Thanks Sam.

We were in town for the Sugar Bowl to watch our Oklahoma Sooners beat Auburn. We took the ferry to Algiers and stopped in for some wonderful drinks and desert. We were there 3 years ago as well. This is a place we will keep coming back to when we are in town.

My wife and I went there after 15 years again and nothing has changed. Everyone that goes there is still great people. The food is great. The people that run this place are great also. You need to make it there if you are near there. Just try it. You will go back. Gilbert and Doris.

Great place! We are staying at federal inn and suites, and needed someplace close. The alligator sausage was great as well as the catfish poboys. Philly Mike was a great and entertaining host.

Old one eyed man, want to fight about it.... Best damn bar in town and the food is great. I have had better service, but the place is small and sometimes the staff get over run. Of course it's a bar and if you act like an ass you're probably will be treated like one. Behave you self and have a good time, when you get your food it's going to be worth the wait. Make friends with some of the folks in the bar, stare at the pretty girls and ask em for their mommas phone number.

Great local color. I recommend the barbecue shrimp appetizer and the full seafood platter. Beer is cold, seafood lightly breaded, and shrimp is finger sucking good. Pleasant wait staff as well.

Seriously above average bar food. For a blue collar joint, the food is actually pretty dern tasty. The burgers are average, but consistent. The gumbo and bbq shrimp are great. Cant go wrong with the po boys or the club sandwich. Salads are great and well-prepared. It's not trendy pretentious tapas bar menu - it's the basics done consistently well. Gumbo had a huge crab legs in it and absolutely delicious. Gumbo beat the pants off Palace Cafe we had the next day. The service is bar service, so give them a break. Call ahead for take out if you are in a rush.

Was Skeptical at First, Glad I Went. Great little dive. The food was reasonably priced and really good. The atmosphere and service are what made me love this place. The staff were great and made me feel like a regular. The old jukebox with great music also made this place better. Must try

First off know that I'm no stranger to New Orleans cuisine and neither were the 3 dining with me. We have all lived here and have visited many times since moving. We ended up at the Dry Dock Cafe essentially looking for greens and black-eyed peas on New Years day. They were running a corned beef, black-eyed pea and cabbage special. We split that dish to get our luck and money (a tradition) and were very impressed by the taste. I won't go on about it because it isn't normally available. One of us ordered the bbq shrimp, which was absolutely incredible! There were 7 or 8 very large tender shrimp in a very tasty broth. It was also served with French bread to mop up the broth with. Two of us split a Best Bank burger. It was perfectly cooked (asked and received medium) and had a nice smoky flavor like it was just off a charcoal grill. Cajun fries were decent and only slightly spicy. The last person ordered the Crawfish Maureenica. Wow! It was so good! Creamy, cheesy, garlicy goodness over angel hair pasta. Crawfish tails were cooked perfectly. Some of the other reviews complained about the service, but our server Cynthia made it a very pleasant experience and everything we ate was recommended by her. This will be one of our stops when we are back next.

BEST BARBECUE SHRIMP EVAH!!. First trip to NOLA and had no idea what barbecue shrimp meant in New Orleans. These were extraordinary! I can't even describe the broth/gravy made of Abita, rosemary and most likely BUTTER. You won't have better anywhere, the best dish in NOLA.

Great. We went here with friends who live in Algiers Point. I thought it was delicious. They had clams that were amazing and our waitress was attentive and nice. Will definitely go back the next time we visit.

My first visit here was a few years ago. This was our first trip back to Nola sincebefore Katrina. The staff is super friendly. Catfish sooooo gooood!!!!!! Drinks were second to none. We ended up being the last customers and the bartenders gave us a taste test of their most popular drinks. They also gave us some insider tips for the best stops on bourbon st. I make sure to stop at this liitle u known spot on each visit to the Crescent City.

Americas Finest Central. We had been here many times before Katrina, but being one of the 1st places to open up in Algiers was a HUGE ray of sunshine for those of us working over here right after the storm. Once the local firefighters and policeman from all over the country discovered it, it was one of the hottest places on the West Bank. I made a whole lot of friends and created some great memories that will last a lifetime. And had some good food and beers too. The staff have always been down-home and friendly. If you're visiting the quarter, ride the Algiers Ferry over and its just off the landing. Enjoy a cold one and some munchies on the front porch, have the staff to tell you some Katrina stories, then ride the ferry back to Bourbon Street Land. It's well worth the trip.

Good nieghborhood joint. Neighborhood Cafe. Seafood, NOLA deli food. Great old neighborhood bar and grill, founded in 1940s, in cool spot right off the dock for the ferry. Infamous as the spot where three drunk white men were interviewed for Tv falsely bragging they had shot at black men who threatened them in the aftermath of Katrina. Cool wall hangings. Greek sala=d with feta, steak, olives etc. was good but the lettuce was stemmy ($10 lunch in 09). Crawfish Maureenica at $13 was priciest on the lunch men -- pasta in a parmesan white sauce -- pretty good. Great huge portion of golden thick seasoned fries for side. I'd go back.

Decided to finally take the ferry and check out Algiers Point while visiting NoLa. We have been coming to the city yearly for 13 years and have waited 13 years too long. This restaurant is phenomenal. The atmosphere is so friendly from the employees to the patrons. Super cute restaurant too. The food: Soooooo goood!!! The wings were the perfect level of crispy and the sauce was perfect. Not too spicy! Burger was amazing. Hubby loved the tamales. Go here. Take the ferry and go here. We will be back!

We took the ferry across the river to Algiers to photograph the New Orleans skyline, and we discovered this hidden gem. It's a little local pub-style restaurant. The people were mostly locals and very friendly. The food (burgers, Po-boys, seafood, etc) was yummy and the service was very fast.

Almost the first thing you see when entering Algiers Point, this is a great choice to sample Algiers flavor and hospitality without going far from the ferry landing. BTW the last ferry departs Algiers Point at 8 :30pm on weekdays. Don't believe the ferry website about the schedule or you'll be taking the bus.

No frills, authentic spots for drinks and eats along side the locals. We loved the down to earth attitude and just enjoyed the good food. Best fried catfish and the best seafood we had on our trip. Staff was chatty and friendly and a great part of the experience. Simple place for good food after a hot day in NOLA and right by the ferry docks.

Step back into time with service and food. Laid back spot with ICE COLD beer. Family friendly. Take the boat over. It's a nice break from the hustle & bustle of the Quarter.
