Sukho Thai in New Orleans offers a delightful culinary experience with authentic Thai flavors and a welcoming ambiance.
Sipping my first sake's drink was a unique and enjoyable experience, with its distinct rice wine taste leaving a lasting impression.
Our meal at Sukho Thai was a culinary journey highlighted by the flavorful Herbal Mussels, delightful Drunken Noodles, and the aromatic Seafood Tom Yum Noodle Soup. The Sukiyaki Noodle Soup added a perfect touch, but the Drunken Noodles stood out as simply awesome. The Thai coffee was a delightful ending to our Thai experience, adding a touch of richness to the meal. Overall, I highly recommend this place for Thai cuisine lovers.
Absolutely delicious food and great service!
Sukho Thai on Royal St is a hidden gem. We stopped by in November 2023 on our third day in New Orleans after trying most of local cuisine dishes.
The food was absolutely delicious! Perhaps the best Thai food we ever tasted. Flavorful, rich, perfectly done, with heat level exactly as ordered on a scale of 1 to 5.
The menu was so big that we had hard time choosing as many dishes looked equally appealing. We settled on Tom Kha Gai soup and Ahi Katsu for appetizers and Salmon Pineapple Curry and Green Curry with Scallops for mains. The soup was one of the best Tom Khas we had and both mains were amazing like out of this world.
The service was top notch as well. Our server Tasheika was very friendly, attentive, and helpful choosing dishes and the heat level of the food. We felt warm, comfortable and really enjoyed our dinner. Thank you!
We highly recommend Sukho Thai on Royal St if you like Thai cuisine and you are in the area! They are just one block away from famous Frenchmen St.
We like to try a new Thai restaurant everywhere we go and this is by far our favorite! There is a whole page of vegan options and even though I’m not vegan I would have never known my partner’s dish was vegan it was so delicious. Everything was pure perfection including the service. Our server even gave us suggestions of vegetarian friendly places in the area for our next day of touring the city. Pictured is the vegan pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles with duck.
We went there very late in the evening around 9.30. The AC was a bit too strong.
Food was nice, but the portion was very small, even for a small person / in European standards. I wasn't satisfied after having my drunken noodle dish. The flavour was good but too salty to my liking - maybe because there weren't enough rice noodles. For this reason, I think it didn't appear to have good value.
The scallops in the noodles were nice. Prawns nice. Calamari was a bit overcooked.
I tried a bit of the vegetable red curry of my partner's, and the flavour was good.
The questions is, will I return when next in New orleans? Hum, probably not, unless the portion size is greatly improved.
Great options and an amazing atmosphere. We got some red curry and drunken noodles and both were tasty! We also had some chicken satay and they were perfectly done - tender and not dry. As someone who loves Thai food, this place is in my top 5 Thai restaurants.
My wonderful retreat. 😊
I eat lunch here about four times a week. I’ve been eating here for 25 years.
They make you feel like family. 😊
The main reason I like Sukho Thai is because of the food. The sauces are sublime. Really exquisite. The lunch specials are reasonably priced.
The ambiance is relaxed and casual.
The wait staff really takes care of you. They are fantastic. The food comes out quickly. An “expediter” brings it to your table the minute it’s ready. This system really works well. You are never waiting very long for your food.
The staff is just so friendly, attentive and efficient. I see them all the time. They’re super. From manager Ashton to Tasheika, Maria, Ryan, Angie— all super efficient- very service-oriented. I highly recommend Sukho Thai, and we send our B&B guests here all the time. They love it too!!
Our waitress was very pleasant and serviced us with respect. She refilled our water on a timely manner and checked up on us while we were eating. I got the veggie dip and sukiyaki which are different from the usual plates I ordered. They were savory but just not my palate. My friend gor the pineapple fried rice and was very satisfied. Overall great experience and I would come again.
Wonderful variety of authentic dishes. Service was cordial and efficient. Portions are generous and filling. Can order the level of spice desired. Can also ask for Thai chilies on the side to heat it up more when sharing a dish.
What an enjoyable evening and dinner here! Amazing food, prompt service, good location, variety of choices and nice ambience.
We ordered - Fried tofu*, soft shell crab appetizer, vegan green curry* (comes with steamed rice), vegan spicy eggplant, dirty noodles* (pad see ew) and everything was splendid ( items marked with * were our favorites!).
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being best…

We had our rehearsal dinner for about 25 people here and it was fantastic! The staff and management were super accommodating and went above and beyond for us. Food was superb and our guests had a wonderful time.
Stopped in to get out of the rain, and was greeted by the kindest people. I couldn’t recommend this place any more, the food is absolutely phenomenal and has such good flavor. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, but not nearly as much as the people!
Great food, not too busy on a Friday night, helpful staff. They got us in and out fast (we were rushing for a show).
While gosh with lime sauce was amazing. Pad Thai with shrimp great too. Hope to return!
We are big fans of Thai food and have been to Thailand many times. I can honestly say that the food here was as good as any I’ve had anywhere, simply outstanding. Would highly recommend.
[Vegan friendly] this restaurant has a separate menu for vegan and vegetarian dishes. The menu features a variety of classic Thai dishes, such as pad thai, curry, and stir-fries, all of which are made with vegan ingredients. We also ordered a few cocktails, and they were all very good. The Lychee Martini was my favorite.
The restaurant is located in a charming neighborhood. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a casual meal with friends.
Perfect portion for lunch! I ordered the lunch chicken Thai fried rice (no spice), and it was delicious. Friendly staff, very warm and welcoming. Ashton was great.
Drunk man noodles 5⭐️ YES! On point all the way.
Shrimp pouch 5⭐️ OMG!!!!
Veggie roll 3⭐️ it’s ok, the sauce was terrible, not sweet chili sauce at all!
Chicken Satay 1⭐️ the flavor just wasn’t good.
The staff amazing they are definitely 5⭐️ for service
Large vegan menu. Loved the vegan pad Thai and the serving was plentiful. Our waiter was excellent and food was served quickly. I will definitely come back. It's a great option for vegans or vegetarians who are at the far end of the French Quarter or Marigny and looking for a delicious and filling meal.
I had the sliced beef salad & Chicken Pad Thai, both a solid medium on the spice chart. The pad Thai was a little sweet & too much sauce for my preference, but the seasoning was good, and very generous portions of chicken. The salad was amazing. Left my mouth tingling with just the right amount of heat.
Food took a bit to come out, but it was hot and freshly prepared.
Visited on a Friday night, solo eater and had maybe a 2 minute wait.
Tables are socially distanced and the restaurant was tastefully decorated and very clean.
They offer a pick up window for take away orders.
