I’m not a seafood guy so take this with a grain of salt. I recently had charbroiled oysters on this trip to New Orleans. I think these are slightly better than the first ones I ever had at another local place. We also got a shrimp boil and it was good I like the potatoes. We also got some of their gumbo and jambalaya and they are on par with other similar restaurants. If you are in the area it’s worth stopping in.

Our party of 8 stopped in here on a Saturday night and were able to get a table upstairs relatively quickly. Our server, Trent, did a great job managing our group. He was polite, friendly, and very accommodating. When we ordered oysters for our appetizer, he brought out the charbroiled instead of raw (my mistake), but he quickly offered to bring us out what we wanted. All our food came out quick and was very good. The Fried Alligator was very tender, and the Bayou Frog Legs (tasting like chicken wings, in case your apprehensive to try them) were flavorful and delicious. Even though I did not mean to order the charbroiled oysters, I did try one and really enjoyed their flavor. Absolutely a happy accident and something I'd be willing to order in the future!

I really enjoyed the food here! I ordered the stuffed shrimp and the crab cakes and they were delicious! The sauce that they smother the crab cakes in has to be from Heaven😇 The restaurant is conveniently located on Bourbon St so being about to observe the people and listen to the music while eating was a plus. I took a lot of my meal to go and it was even better the next day!! My brother ordered the meal that came with 4 items (gumbo, jambalaya, etouffee, and red beans and rice) and it was delicious as well!

The corn and crab soup was good, didn't like the hard crust on the crab cakes and the drink was ok...barely tasted the alcohol. The server was great! Overall I'll scale it a 3 out of 5.

Pier 424 Seafood Market is a treasure trove of authentic NOLA cuisine. The Chicken Andouille Sausage Gumbo was an explosion of flavors - smoky, hearty, and utterly divine. The Boiled Crawfish were perfectly seasoned, transporting us to the heart of the bayou. "Taste Of New Orleans" was an extraordinary culinary journey, filled with iconic dishes expertly prepared. Surprisingly, the cheeseburger stood out with its juicy, beefy goodness. The Jambalaya was a delicious medley of savory elements, and the Red Beans And Rice were comfort food at its finest - creamy, rich, and nostalgic. Pier 424 is a must-visit for the gastronome!

Located in the heart of Bourbon St. festivities! Nice and friendly staff and amazing chargrilled oysters. One of my requested menu items never made it to my table. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience near the music, laughs, and fun of New Orleans.

We ate there on Christmas. It was very busy, but serve was fast. We ordered the gumbo and the seafood combo platter. Everything was delicious!!! The portions were so big we still had leftovers even after splitting the dish between two of us. Our waitress was Kathy and she was very friendly and always checking on us.

The servers were great and the food was fabulous. Nothing bad to say about this place. I will definitely be back. Shrimp Po'Boy was amazing.

Really amazing food and drinks. Bonus amazing music outside.
The service was also great!!!

Delicious food, not the best we tried in NOLA but good to experience. Service was excellent though.

Perfect affordable choice for a casual Cajun dining experience. We were seated with 5 minutes of arriving. The hostess was friendly, and our waiter (I think it was Antuan) was awesome and had the best smile. I started with the Hurricane and I thought it was the best that I had this week. It had a litte bit more pineapple than most, which I liked. It was also pretty! I had the Taste of New Orleans with the Jambalaya, Gumbo and Red Beans and Rice. It was all very tasty but my favorite was definitely the Jambalaya. I was scraping my bowl to get every last bite. My dining partner had the Southern Fried Fish meal. The plate was overflowing with fish,, fries, onion rings and bread. She loved the fish, that the breading was spot on. The onions rings, were nice and crisp. The french fries were fine, nothing special. The decor and atmosphere were fun and festive. Someone was playing drums (or buckets) during our entire meal, which annoyed my dining partner, but honestly I hardly noticed it and when I did, I thought it added to the experience.; There were several people sitting at the bar that looked like they were having a great time, so this is probably a great place to just stop for a drink. This is definitely a great choice for a modestly priced meal on Bourbon Street where you don't have to make reservations.

Sooooooo Gooood!! So many places to go in the French Quarter and I'm glad we ended up at this place! So delicious I wanted to order a plate to take to the hotel because I wanted more 😋
Natasha Sheppard
Interesting atmosphere inside (including the indoor house/porch). The staff were great! Our server was so nice and warm, loved her.
I got the Hurricane (their signature dish) and it was really good – got a little tipsy lol. We both got the sampler dishes and it was okay, probably liked the red beans and jambalaya the most.
The night we went (I think our first night in NOLA, visiting from Toronto), a fight broke out inside however it was for some great entertainment 😂 Security was there and everything was handled, then everyone carried on laughing like nothing happened 👏🏽

The grilled cheese was delicious. The sweet potato fries were a treat. Popcorn shrimp tasted like chicken at first. Our host was nice. Right there on Bourbon Street.

The sautéed crab claws where smothered not sautéed and were the smallest blue crab claws they could find, some had no meat just the cartilage. The Texas toast served with the claws was burnt. The blackened shrimp was decent but the vegetables were unseasoned and very bland. The jambalaya served with the shrimp was bland and the rice was uncooked. The chef came over and did not charge me for my meal but I would not recommend this restaurant.

Came across this place walking down Bourbon. The line for a table was so long and it literally looked like no one was working. My husband and I decided to sit at the bar. The server was so sweet. We ordered a half dozen charbroiled oaysters and after about 15 minutes waiting on them, the server told us they were out of oaysters. We decided to go ahead and order. I got the spicy crawfish lettuce wrap. The flavor was good. My husband ordered the peel and eat shrimp and it was good as well. While finishing up, I looked down and there were two roaches right underneath our chairs. Check please! 😫 Would not go back when back in the area.

Never been to the area before so walked around and came across this lovely restaurant! It looked clean and well presented on the outside and was just as nice inside, we received a warm welcome and was sat on a table that we were able to choose next to an open window. Our waitress was amazing and couldn't do enough for us and the food was just to die for!! Both me and my friend had the shrimp and crabcake Alfredo and both of us thoroughly enjoyed it! Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back

Service was terrible
Asked for an extra plate the waitress never came back i had to get the host
We ordered charboiled oysters and the server informed us there was none while Bringing our other appetizers instead of telling us before hand but they had oysters on the half shell???
Food was adaquate

I ordered snow crab legs and the waiter brought me a set of "crackers" to use to eat them. Halfway through my meal, the crackers broke sending nuts, bolts, and both sides of the crackers flying to the floor. I asked for another set and the waiter said that they didn't have many because customers stole them. Why? Anyway, three wait persons later I was told to just break the claws with my teeth. Yep, she said to put it in my mouth and crush the large claw with my very own teeth. When I looked at her incredulously she simply laughed at me and walked off. Never got a drink refill, replacement crackers, or the ability to eat the rest of my snow crab legs.

The charbroiled oysters are simply amazing.....best I have tried anywhere.....staff was friendly.....I had eaten here around New Year's and all the food was excellent then as well.......
Isela Rios
Was empty for a reason, and still took them a while to seat us. Our server forgot to bring out our appetizer. Once food came out 40 mins later, it was drowned in Alfredo sauce. We ordered a Po Boy, which didn’t have Mayo or pickles as described on menu. A tab of 70+ for bad service and food.
Isabel Chevere
Good food, drinks and service. They got the meat orders (raw, med raw, med) all mixed up on the table. Would return when back to New Orleans.

Love, love, love this place. We sat at the Oyster Bar where we had the pleasure of meeting Raymond. The oysters rank at the top of the many we have had North to South, West to East. Like the Oysters Raymond ranks at the top, excellent shucker, and fantastic attitude.

The manager wants to argue with me because the crawfish we ordered was not hot. This guy argued when better customer service and a replacement would have resolved this and possibly I would give a much higher rating.
I should have went with my initial choice and gone to Deanies Seafood!
Will never patronize this business again.
Casey Taylor
Horrible service. Took forever to get our food then they forgot someone’s meal and we didn’t get it until we were leaving. Then it took forever to get our check so we could leave finally. They did take the meal they forgot off the ticket but the experience was ruined by then.

Amazing Service!!!!! I absolutely loved this place!!! Staff is definitely on point!!! Will be back soon!!!!

This place was recommended to me by a friend and it did not disappoint! The blackened shrimp and jambalaya were amazing!!

Never got my food....place sucks...2 orders of oysters and they never came....positive is they didn’t charge for them

Omg the food was delicious. The corn was so sweet. Crab legs were hot and delicious. My char oysters were on point. Loved everything!!First time going here and definitely will be back Nxt time in NOLO

The server was great! Enjoyed the food but the portions are so huge.

Not the best place in my opinion to eat. Service was slow. The food was mediocre at best. I am not a seafood fan so i guess that didn’t leave me with many choices and between the drinks and the one entree I had it was almost 40 bucks. I guess you pay to be forgotten on the upstairs patio overlooking bourbon street. Won’t be returning here.

Absolutely delicious!!! We always treat the kids to a whatever you want meal while on spring break. We ordered pasta, blackened fish, blackened shrimp, frog legs, fried gator, raw oysters, and the crawfish boil! Not one complaint and only praise for every ounce of food! The only issue was that we were seated at the same time as the shift change and it took a while to get our order taken but after that the service was awesome and quick!! It’s a must have if you’re visiting Bourbon street!

Have been here twice in the last year, both times great food & service. Lovely balcony or store front dining on first floor. CLEAN bathrooms.

It was a shame to have our seafood dinner ruined by this restaurant in the French Quarter. We ordered the Shrimp Boil and Crab Leg Boil. Both dishes were over-boiled and neither were flavorful - only a hint of hotness but no flavor at all.

The mixed drinks were also too sugary. I've had hurricanes and grenades up and down the street, this tasted like pure sugar. Neither of us could finish them.

Actually i dont like this place because of behaviours of employees, they arent friendly and helpful for our table.

New orleans trio is a local meal. I wont like it unless i dont like spicy food. Its a different taste and people who are too much hungry shouldnt choose this.

Cat fish is a good chose for other local foods.

Calamar was terrible.

An average place in the Bourbon Street.

We stopped in for lunch to get out of the Bourbon Street craziness. The staff were so friendly and very attentive. We had the raw oysters and fried seafood platter. The portions are humongous so we were glad that we decided to share. The seafood was fresh, lightly breaded, and not greasy at all. We will definitely be back!

I went here for an office Christmas party. We had crawfish pasta, fried grits, bread pudding, and some sort of chicken. The pasta was well seasoned and tasty. The fried grits were something I'd never had before, but were good, especially combined with the sauce. The bread pudding had chocolate chips instead of raisins and was excellent; rich and not too dry or too soggy. I didn't try the chicken, but heard it too was good.

Note that this review is based on an event that had buffet-style catering for a group of 30+ in the restaurant's upstairs room. When food is made for that many people that way, it can be hit or miss, and I've experienced some of the misses. Pier 424 was definitely *not* a miss. However, I gave them a 4.0 instead of 4.5 rating because while the food I had was great and the staff I encountered seemed very friendly, I wasn't actually waited on at any point, so I can't rate the service/waiter part of the experience. Or the prices, for that matter. I would be interested in trying them for a regular meal at some point though.

Boiled Pei Mussels. Great flavor and spice!

Good menu choices. First night in the French quarter...
While the atmosphere was similar style of many other with the same fare,
the food choices, quality of food, service and $ value couldn't be beat.

We had lunch there - the raw oysters were good but the charbroiled oysters were fantastic! Our server was attentive and we will be back. Excellent food!!

Good good, friendly staff. I stopped in on the first night of my trip, looking for something different. I sat at the bar and the bartender suggested the fried oysters. I've never had the taste for them so I started with the fried gator (excellent!) instead. Without me asking, he brought me a fried oyster to try and it was amazing!

For my main course I went with the New Orleans Trio, which included a cup of red beans and rice, a cup of crawfish etouffee, and a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo. Man was it good! I don't like crawfish but the etouffee was great. The red beans were my favorite (besides the gator). I wasn't too fond of the roux in the gumbo (everyone's is different) but overall it was pretty tasty.

If I had more time during this visit I'd go back, but I will return on my next trip to NOLA!

Hamburger Po Boy. Finally enough burger for the bun!

Shrimp and Grits!. My husband and I were visiting from Tennessee, stayed in the French Quarter and like most tourists we took off walking. We made our way to Bourbon St and looked for a nice place for dinner. Found this restaurant, did not have to wait to be seated (Thursday night) The ambiance was really nice, service was too. We ordered grilled oysters and the shrimp and grits (on the menu it has a long fancy name). The oysters were very good but the shrimp and grits were quite possibly the best thing I have ever tasted! I highly recommend it to anyone.

Crab cakes are great!

Nothing short of GREAT. This is my first time in New Orleans & I came here for lunch on my last day. All my girlfriends were looking for a place with good crawfish and we hit the jackpot here! Not only was the crawfish phenomenal, the service was very welcoming and friendly. Our server overheard us saying how it was my birthday & she brought out for us 3 of their delicious desserts compliments of the chef. The staff recommended places to visit and were overall very helpful. If you want great service and great food, that's the place to be! I'll be coming back to eat there every time I come to NOLA. :)
-Amazing food
-reasonable prices
-big portions
-friendly staff
-clean and comfortable ambience

Nice!. Only stopped in for a afternoon snack of raw oysters.... they were very fresh. Staff was friendly. I will go back.

Great drinks, food is always Delicious!! best oysters! Staff great also. Best food on bourbon and can enjoy the street crowd while enjoying dinner.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a seafood boil, this is NOT THE PLACE FOR THAT! I first ordered the mussel boil and they were out even though it was only 6pm so I ordered the shrimp boil instead. Big mistake. It was absolutely awful. Bland and completely unseasoned. The corn was mush and I doubt a pinch of salt was used. It was even unsalvageable with hot sauce and salt & pepper. On the other hand, my boyfriend's jambalaya pasta was delicious and the nice waiter from Chicago didn't charge us for the boil even though we didn't ask him to take it off the bill.

Great oysters, turtle soup, blackened shrimp, gator sausage and chowder. Wish I lived here to come back. This was a great first impression of Nola!

Went to this place since it was close to our hotel. Good choice! Our server, Jarrad, was spot on from taking our drink order to serving our food. Food was very good. I had the shrimp with the grits and sauce that was outstanding. Wife had the cob salad and she really liked it. Ask for Jarrad to be your server and be sure to talk a little football with him. Overall, a good experience and we will go back the next time we are in this area.

Pleasantly surprised to find real food and a decent bar on Bourbon Street. Bartender was nice, and food was good. It's a good place to eat, drink and wait on your drunk friends to finish acting like idiots on bourbon street. I'll be back

Would not eat there twice. We stopped here on a night when we weren't suite sure what we wanted, other than New Orleans food. Settled on this place. I had a shrimp salad and my wife had the "Cajun Sampler". My salad was passable, but nothing great. A bit stingy on the shrimp, small and seemed thawed from frozen. Wife's Jambalaya was decent but not noteworthy. The crayfish ettouffe was almost tasteless. The red beans and rice almost saved the sampler, but the gumbo was gross and watery. It was a decent meal if you've never had good cajun food...so it strikes me as a tourist trap on Bourbon Street. Both meals, with water ran about $32.00.

Great food, Monica, our server was delightful.

This was the 1st restaurant we ate at while dwn for the jazz fest. The tour of new Orleans was ok but everything was rice dishes which had a fish aroma that lingered and left a bad after taste. nothing tasted good that I would go back or recommend to someone else. The fish poboy was salty and dry. However my bf had the crab dish and the crabs were better and not as bad as the other two dishes. In general if your on bourbon st walk past fast unless your drunk then it may be acceptable.

Experience great. Our experience was a pleasurable. Our waitress Britney was very nice. I can see why this place hasn't received the best remarks or scores based on the staff's interactions with the customers but we were lucky enough to get a great waitress. The food was good. We ordered the steak, catfish (ok) and read beans and rice (great). I found a new favorite beer "Abita-strawberry flavored" thanks to our waitress suggestion.
Daniel
Went at 8pm on a Sunday. Waited at the hostess table for a few minutes before anyone spoke to us. We were taken to a table and sat for 15 minutes without being spoken to or even given a glass of water. As we were leaving we were told the waitress was on a "cigarette break" and to please sit back down and she would be right with us. No thanks.
Matt
Very surprised Best shrimp we had any where The food was great!

One of the best prices we saw for raw oysters and they were fresh and good. Try the spinach, strawberry and salmon salad, very good! The gumbo was my favorite and the wait staff was attentive. I'd definitely go back.

Mediocre food. For the price there are certainly much better dining choices in NOLA. However ok place to grab a drink and an appetizer, watch the crowd go b .
Friendly service and interesting interior.

This has been added to my favorite seafood resteraunt list! This is our second time eating here this week. The first time here I had the 'Scallops St Lewis'. It might be the best seafood dish I have ever eaten ( and I grew up on the Oregon Coast). If you are looking for a reasonably priced seafood resteraunt in New Orleans! Also the Bourbon St atmosphere is great!
TheCritic
LOVE!!!! So delicious. I recommend The red beans and rice, the Mac n Cheese and the gumbo are the BEST I've had in my life. I'm a foodie and a chef and have a snobby palate- there's nothing to turn your nose up at this great restaurant. Ask for Blake- great service and a great view of Bourbon from the balcony!
Bobby Bryce
I thought the atmosphere was good, I just expected more from a seafood restaurant in New Orleans, especially at those prices. I wouldn't go back. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't worth a return trip either.

My fav restaurant in New Orleans. I'm a Texas gal and have been to NOLA three times the last 12 months. I happened upon Pier 424 my first visit in last year and have now established it as a non-negotiable "must eat"! I went two nights in a row my last trip in September, and am going again this evening. The gumbo is absolutely yummy, their specialty Bloody Marys are out of this world, and their food has been consistently good every visit! I know it could be considered touristy being on Bourbon street, but I don't care; I LOVE THEIR FOOD!!!
Iris Robinson
What a nice surprise!!. My husband and I were walking down Bourbon Street, and we thought the plates they had out for display looked really good, so we decided on a whim to eat there. I had no idea a place on Bourbon among all those bars would have such GREAT food. I had the tilapia catch of the day (blackened), Mardi Gras rice (dirty rice), and mac n cheese. The tilapia was REALLY fresh and seasoned well, the rice was yummy...and the mac n cheese!! :) We both agree that it was the most amazing mac n cheese we've ever had...they make it with gouda! It was so deliciously cheesy, rich, and perfect. My husband loved his steampot, and the Hurricane I got there was also great. Our waitress was really cool, very down-to-earth, and gave us good tips for visiting The Big Easy. If you want a true taste of NO, go to Pier 424! We will definitely be back when we go to NO next time.

Best fried shrimp in New Orleans

If you liked it before, you will love it now. Pier 424 has a new Executive Chef...Chef Rob Bechtold...If you haven't met him, please go by and say Hi.
Chef Rob has added some flare to the food as well as the "southern" hospitality aspect of the staff.
The Crawfish Ettouffe is to die for...
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did......

Better than expected. I haven't liked any of the several other Quarter tourist traps run by the group that runs this Pier 424. All boring, cliched menus and decor, and overpriced. Except this one. Well, it was still overpriced and boring, but the food was much better. At least the one thing I had. The crawfish cake po boy and the fries that came with it were above average tasting and reasonably priced. I paid $13 for it including tax and tip w/o a drink.

Surprisingly good for Bourbon Street.. Went here with family a few weeks ago, and we all liked our food. The service was pretty good. What a pleasant surprise for Bourbon Street in the middle of the night. The fried catfish was so good! I will go back again when we are in the Quarter.
Jody
Great food! Come here every time I'm in the quarter!! Gumbo! Mmmmmmmmmmm.

This was actually my first stop this year in NOLA. Walking down Bourbon street, overwhelmed with choices, we picked this place because I wanted to try some fried alligator. The alligator was awesome, tasty and fresh. However……….. I think I discovered the best shrimp and grits I have ever tasted in my life!

The oyster po' boy ticks all my boxes. Half a dozen oysters are sheathed in a super crunchy batter, breaking through to intensely sweet and briny oysters within.
