My wife called me when I was overseas "raving" about Hoshun's! I returned home in March and it was the 4th restaurant we visited (after Mikimotos in Gert Town, Roux and Brew in Ponchatoula, and Tope La in Hammond). I must say...."wow"! Very nice location on historic Saint Charles St and the atmosphere is awesome. The amount of food you receive is criminal...so you get more than your monies worth. The sushi was incredibly fresh and the service FANTASTIC. My sister-in-law's coworkers brother and sister own the place and my family and I visit each time we drive to the city. The shrimp fried rice is my wife's favorite and she doesn't like everybody's fried rice. The cajun spring rolls - one word: UNBELIEVABLE!!! I haven't had one bad thing there. Like reviewer Cornbread said in his review "never disappointed when I leave Hoshun", more like they need to put beds in the place so I can go to sleep when I finish my meal!!! XOXOX

Yum!. Stumbled upon this place after midnight & was pleasantly surprised to find them open until 2am. Despite the late hour multiple employees were kind and helpful. Most importantly, the food was DIVINE! My roll was a little messy, but who cares? It was delicious. Actually the best sushi I had in a while. Will come back again!
Pork fried rice, spring rolls, and lo mein is so good. Used to cone here a lot for SIN night great selected menu.

Crawfish and Asparagus. I can't give too detailed of a review, because the first time I went I had the crawfish and asparagus and I was in love. I have never ordered anything else whenever we go back.
Great place if you cannot decide on what Asian food you are in the mood for. Service is always great here!
Hoshun is a great restaurant! You should not expect a "traditional" Asian restaurant but a bit more of an Asian-fusion experience.... The playboy roll is fantastic and every soup on the menu is superb! The decor and atmosphere is relaxing.

If you order 1 of those 2 order the combo fried rice and share with you and another!! That's what me and my boyfriend do !! Streetcar roll is amazing!! Tiger roll and hoshun treasure!!!
The OMG Factor. I live on the Northshore and rarely make it into the city. I've been to Hoshun a few times and it's been on the brain since the first time I walked in there. I love the decor, the food and the service was great. My most recent trip was with a couple of friends of mine. They each had a Chinese dish that there were raving about within the first few bites while I tried their new-to-the-menu Curry Soup. The portion was huge, the surprise of scallions mixed in with the chicken was pleasant and the flavor was phenomenal! Add in the two sets of sushi we shared and nearly every bite had the three of us rolling our eyes in pleasure. I've since recommended it to everyone I know.
It is a little pricey, but I would gladly pay what they charge for the tastes I got.
Great Halls of China. This restaurant could accommodate an army. Though an exaggeration, that was the impression simply by looking at the building with a lift in it. Server was attentive enough with water/soda service. Edamame was presented nicely. The large plate of Singapore noodles complemented the space, with a generous helping of prawns. Like the spicy curry on it. The mixed vegetable plate, however, needed more stir-frying.

5 Happiness in nicer setting. Honestly they try to do too much. Sushi, Thai, Viet, Chinese and probably some I haven't included. The sushi is way too expensive. The chinese is just like 5 Happiness. The other food isn't that good. If you go for the specials at lunch it's worth it. Any other time you'll wonder why you went. The owner put some major money into the restaurant building and it's huge and nice it just doesnt have the people to make the atmosphere what it could be. Maybe in ten years I'll have a diff opinion, but for now, it just doesn't suit me.

Fried Rice. My 2 boys will only eat fried rice in chinese restaurants. They rated Hoshun as the BEST fried rice ever. I had filet in veggies and it was very tender and very tasty. Love to watch the street cars passing on St. Charles while we at.
My family loves it. This place can accommodate every single person in my family (which is borderline impossible!) but the steamed veggies & rice are delish and they serve fizzy water (which I hate that most asian cuisine places don't)

Best Oriental Restaurant. We stopped into this place because it was across the street from our hotel and is open late. We were blown away! This place is amazing! It was so great that we even went back the next night. Between the two of us and two trips, we tried various sushi, sashimi, and the duck. Everything was wonderful and the atmosphere is pleasant. Service was good too. I can't wait to go back again!
Happy Hour!. I like going here for happy hour when the price for certain sushi is really reasonable. :) I also like sitting at the sushi bar where I can chat with the awesome sushi chefs. They're really nice and personable.
Do try the seared ahi tuna salad! It is spectacular.

Best Late Night Sushi. My bf & I are regulars at Hoshun & we just luv it! They have great sushi with a great staff. The Playboy roll is soo good! You have to try it! Another plus, they are open until 2 AM! I luv it!

The BBQ pork is to die for! My favorite is the General Tso; but I wasn't too thrilled with the other 2 plates I've had. But it's a great place, nice ambiance, only negative the service can be slow.
We love this spot! It is by no means a "kid" place, but the owner is always so awesome with the boys. We've never had a bad meal. It will remain a usual for us!
Best Asian in NOLA. This place is a bit pricey, but the food and sushi are worth every cent. They're also open until 2 am everyday, and the place definitely does business that late. Limited delivery, but you'll want to eat in anyway, the place is gorgeous. In a city that's mostly limited to places that serve eggrolls with wings, this place is a true find. Certainly the best pan-Asian place within the city limits!
Great Food Open Late. I keep going back to Hoshun. The food and sushi are great. My favorite dish is the Goo Lou Pork. The combination platters are a great deal. They are open till 2 am on some nights.
I went during happy hour and I was pleasantly surprised. I've been twice and both times my sushi was fresh and tasty. The rolls are super neat. My friends had Lo Mein and Pad Thai. Also, very good! Hoshun is some type of Neo-Asian restaurant with great ambiance. The service is unpredictable at best but you can't beat 1/2 priced rolls and 2 for 1 Sapporo draft. Go during happy hour(3-6, 11:30-6 on Sundays), it's worth it.

Hoshun always come in strong. We had fast accurate service by very nice wait staff. The Mongolian beef was to die for. Every sushi roll we got was delectable. Sashimi salad was amazing.
The restaurant interior is excellent. Calm brown colors, fun music playing, elevated booth seating. Calm lighting. Very much enjoy this place.
Came here for dinner Friday night. Place was dimley lit but very welcoming.I had the Hoshun triple...Beef Chicken and Shrimp in a savory spicy sauce.. Very well seasoned and delicious. We also had the crawfish fried rice...i wish it was more seasoned but still pretty good. My wife had the fried pork in a sweet pineapple sauce...THAT WAS AMAZING!!! Plenty of leftovers for later.Bring your appetite cuz you're gonna leave full!!
Outstanding customer service from entry to exit. One of the rare restaurants open on Christmas and grateful for it. We thoroughly enjoyed the Chinese eggplant, sweet & sour boneless chicken & Kung pao shrimp. Decorum authentic yet a little dark (dim lighting). It didn't bother me yet someone might find exception. Prices reasonable and plates are hearty.
Food is always hot and delicious. Best for late night eats. Salt and pepper shrimp are soooo delicious.
Love Hoshun! Had been hearing a lot about it and finally decided to try it. Had the pleasure of the lovely Savannah serving us and she was honestly one of the best servers I’ve ever had. She was very friendly and attentive, and made some great recommendations off the menu. Food was delicious, will definitely be back
Very high quality authenic ethnic foods. The menu is huge! So much to choose from, but you gotta try the spring rolls, they're to die for! The teriyaki beef and the shrimp tempera roll were amazing as well! Honestly you can't go wrong no matter what you order here. Everything is delicious and the service was incredible. As a bonus, this place was conveniently within walking distance of the bed and breakfast we were staying at.
This is the most delish Asian fair in all of New Orleans. I'm not sure I'm qualified to make that proclaim but it's where I got my late night street noodle fix so I stand behind it. 😂 We had duck and street noodles and more alcohol. It was quick and quite yummy.
If food portion size was my primary motivation for being here then this place would get 10 stars. All the portions we received were huge!
Service was a little short staffed. Our waiter didn't get around to all his tables enough. I could tell he was working hard but he just didn't have any back up.

The food was good, not great but good and the sushi roll I had was good as well. The other two in our party were very happy with their meals and both commented that they enjoyed the food and they both commented on how large the portions were.
It's not typical New Orleans fare but it's good food and you'll get plenty of it.
Open at ridiculous hours which I greatly appreciated during college late nights. Egg drop soup is cheap but tops, (comes with fresh fried wonton crackers) one of the best that I’ve ever had and comforts me during hangovers or sad times. Lo mein has big juicy shrimp. This place holds a special spot in my heart.
Hoshun is by far my favorite place to eat. The staff, the atmosphere, the vibe....is all there for a perfect date night. The food is amazing. My favorite go-to is the Hoshun friend rice (chicken, pork, and shrimp). Check it out. You won't be disappointed!

I go here all the time, If you want the best grade sushi & drinks go here- the atmosphere is everything. It’s service with a smile-always 😊I get the dragon roll, salmon sashimi & tried the eel once. Personally my FAVORITE thing to order is the blueberry lemon drop martini- I refuse to be turned on to anything else😋
I have been going to Hoshun for years and if you have too you KNOW you have to request to sit with Cynthia at the bar in the back for amazing service, drinks, and a great time. She is a hoshun staple and gem!!! Her level of multitasking and being personable with customers is pretty awesome to watch and if your a regular then you know what I’m talking about !! 👏🏼👌 Drinks and food are always great! So do yourself a favor, head out to hoshun on a Friday night and request to sit with Cynthia! 😉

Whew Chile, let me tell y'all about the best Chinese / Japanese Spot I've had in NOLA. Hoshun is def my go to and I'm a big advocate for them. They are a dine in or a takeout type of place with a great late night vibe (ALL night happy hour on Tuesdays) . I decided to get a "fried" California Roll with Hoshun Veggie Fried rice. And when I tell you it does me right EVERY SINGLE TIME, I'm not even exaggerating! So the next time y'all are in NOLA check this pace out!
